I’ve had this for a few years now:

No problems, dropped plenty of times. It eats batteries though but i think they all do, I’d definitely look for something rechargeable if i was using it loads.

I did the backsplash in the kitchen last year. My tips:

1. Tiling is 3D. Yeah, keeping it level in the horizontal/vertical directions is important, but avoiding lippage between tiles contributes to a much better looking finish.
2. buy a laser level. Just do it. You can get a cheap one from Amazon for near enough peanuts. I have this one and it’s more than good enough (and has much higher ratings than most of the ones from Screwfix etc). Don’t waste time with a real spirit level, they (and your eyes) aren’t accurate enough over longer spans.
3. for large format tiles you should be mixing your own adhesive because of the strength of the bond. Get a bucket and a mixer paddle and follow the instructions on the packet ;)
4. if you have a really flat wall, you can spread the adhesive straight onto the wall. Otherwise I’d probably do it onto each tile because it’s surprisingly difficult to get it right when spreading onto the wall
5. often you see too much adhesive. Less is more (within reason). The packet will tell you how much of the tile has to have adhesive to safely hold the tile but aim for as much coverage as possible
6. take your time
7. don’t grout on the hottest day of the year, it goes off surprisingly quickly 🥴
8. if you spend time on the first row and getting that right, it makes life a lot easier for the rest of it.

Keep meaning to get a tripod but you can usually get it to the height you want with ladders etc
