I once considered piping a light-duty space heater into my big filament distributor box, but decided against it. I figure I don't need it often enough and a dehydrator can be stashed away, while there's not much room near my filament box.
dehydrators aren't that expensive.

For drying, you can get a cheap dehydrator, and either gut the plates so the spool fits in them, or find a plastic cake carrier and use the lid on top of it. A bit more expensive, (and can't go as high for temp) is the dehydrators made for filament. If you have the space you can get dehydrators that are side loading, those are better, but keep in mind, if you use it to dry filament, I would not use it for food ever again.
