Since you're still a beginner I would suggest to read anthologies (in translation) first, just so you see what's out there and what could be your objective in the mid and long term.
I recommend The Oxford Anthology of Roman Literature and the Penguin Anthology.
If you absolutely want to read in Latin. Wait until you're in the last 10 or so chapters of Familia Romana and then read the Ørberg editions of Latin authors.
If you absolutely want to tackle the real authors in Latin right now, just because why not, I once suggested the best anthologies of Latin Literature that you might wish to consult.
If you want to consult a reference book or a History of Latin Literature, I recommend von Albrecht or Fuhrmann (or Conte if you cannot get a hold of any of those two).
