Honestly, I'd recommend purchasing a screen off of Amazon, such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QUU3RJK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_r-kPxbJG5FBZK
You'll need this, a heat gun (I found that hair dryers will work, but it takes longer), and some double sided 2mm repair tape. Follow one of the YouTube videos and it won't take long at all. It's surprisingly easy.
Is this what you mean? Sorry, I'm new to repairing smartphones myself.
Recently had to replace my LCD and digitizer and here is where I got my replacement. Not sure if it is an OEM part but it does have the LG logo and text on the bottom and I have had no issues with it. I used the guide from iFixit to take the phone apart and it was pretty basic stuff.
This isn't genuine, but that shouldn't be a worry. I bought one from Amazon, but I don't think it will be available for you since I'm in America and you're in Australia.
However, I got this for $65 USD and purchased some 2mm tape separately to intall it.
I ended up buying http://www.amazon.com/Flashtechllc%C2%AE-Display-Screen-Digitizer-Assembly/dp/B00QUU3RJK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1427059331&sr=8-1&keywords=vs985+screen+replacement It is suppose to be here wednesday so hopefully everything works out well.
I've used this one screen several times and holding next to my own I can't tell the difference.
