Honestly, I stand. I have better breath support standing and also I do move around a little bit, especially when getting into different character voices.
It the past I’ve used a saddle stool or leaning stool sort of like this one:
I’ve also used one of those 1980’s style kneeling stool.
Basically, anything that forces me to sit upright. But, to each their own. That’s just what’s worked for me.
I got sick of my office chair and just splurged for myself two weeks ago to get this chair:
Learniture Adjustable-Height Active Learning Stool, Black, LNT-RIA3052BK-SO https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GVVQNL6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_TSP9AbK4931KQ
It was a solid investment and I'll take it wherever I go next. I love it so far.
It probably wouldn't work to get your legs under you, but you might consider a wobble or active learner type stool like this?
I meant to get one when setting up my new office, forgot during my the chaos of my move, and you just reminded me this thing exists. I've tried kid versions at my local library. Lots of fun if they weren't too small for me.
> How do I reset, go from procrastinating and being an emotional mess to getting these done?
You approach problems as smaller units. You plan your work before executing so that you don't have to make decisions while executing. Decisions distract, changing context (EG research, diagrams etc) distracts. This is true even for people without ADHD, we are just worse at it.
I'm a software architect at a pretty senior level so 90% of my job (other then stupid numbers of meetings about nothing) is writing extravagant documents. I always procrastinate like hell about them but always get them done by not focusing on the whole but the part;
For the last two things I tend to do them while watching TV. Something I have seen many times so I wont be super focused on; write a paragraph, switch attention to the TV for a few minutes, write next paragraph etc.
You can also do some workspace optimizations;

This is what I meant by 'wobble' chair. Takes up almost no space. I can use at my standing desk and sitting at traditional height.
