Oh no! Hang in there buddy. 🥺
I’m not an expert on palms but it might be happy closer to the window. Or you could try out a clip grow light by your side table like this :
LED Grow Light,6000K Full Spectrum Clip Plant Growing Lamp with White Red LEDs for Indoor Plants,5-Level Dimmable,Auto On Off Timing 4 8 12Hrs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085CDPSMR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_7JWTP29KQ199V2NN0RSR
Space is looking great tho!
herbs are so much fun. They smell great and you can use them to cook with. and most of them are really easy to grow. I love to grow basil (don't let it get below 50 degrees) and oregano will grow like a weed (because it basically is, lol). get yourself one of the cheap led grow lights on amazon like this if you live somewhere cold or if you don't have a lot of light in your place and you will be good to go. you can get plants already started at home depot or a local nursery. or seeds from burbee seeds online. oh and hd has regular house plants too. good luck!
I really like these “GooingTop” full spectrum grow lights. They are the number 1 best seller in the grow lights category on Amazon. They have two goosenecks, with long strips of lights. They come in 50 or 100 watts, they are dimmable and have an auto on/off feature where you can pick the amount of time they are on per day. They work great and get great reviews. Amazon Link
Cut off the stretched pads, there is no fixing them once etiolated. Youll need a grow light if you dont have access to more natural sunlight.
That soil is also too organic. Look into something with more perlite/gravel so it doesnt retain moisture like your typical potting soil would.
Good luck

definitely needs more light. i recently got this grow light from amazon, only had it for a couple weeks so far but my plants seem to be loving it!
I got this one last year for the winter times:
GooingTop LED Grow Light,6000K Full Spectrum Clip Plant Growing Lamp with White Red LEDs for Indoor Plants,5-Level Dimmable,Auto On Off Timing 4 8 12Hrs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085CDPSMR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_S1TRFR9CSDDN76CZ2DMW?psc=1
I got the 50 watt. They also have one with 4 lights.
These lights work very well. Use hardly any electricity. It has a build in timer you set, very nice.
In spring and summer though my plants go on porch but I am still using light for my seeds and propagation.
Thanks! Limited-time deal: GooingTop LED Grow Light,6000K Full Spectrum Clip Plant Growing Lamp with White Red LEDs for Indoor Plants,5-Level Dimmable,Auto On Off Timing 4 8 12Hrs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085CDPSMR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_dl_3VE4PZF8KVNPPZWJ8X20?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This! Plus plants in general, which you can grow with light bars like these from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085CDPSMR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_dl_160ZNA0VXD4RAR4MJ6SN
Also definitely clearing countertops as much as possible by storing bigger appliances away in your cabinets if you can, or getting an extra ikea pantry/cabinet to store them in and pull out when needed.
Fair. I did look at it and it's not super straightforward. The one I have (link below) is 6000k and red and white lights and I have it one 12hr on/off at 100%. Those are good, these are better. Look for lights that are full spectrum and 6000k. The 6000k is the level of brightness

I purchased a Takasago no okina from Walmart yesterday. I do not own any other plants currently and do not get great sunlight during the winter months. I was wanting to grab a grow light but most setups seem for multiple plants. I can't find much information on lighting just a single succulent. I was hoping for something small, I like having it on my desk next to the window. I have been looking at Amazon, but with how little I know, I'd like to get some more knowledgeable advice so that I do not waste money on purchasing the wrong light. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

This is what I have been considering.
Easy and cheap solution is a supplemental grow light for the 4+ hours you plant is indoors. Something like this would be enough for a few months until daylight is in the 13+ hours per day range.
This is what I got. Not exactly how good it is. But seems to be working well for me. Check out my most recent post.

I have to bring my plants indoors for the winter. My apartment gets very little natural light so this year I bought one of these. Haven't had it long enough to know if it will work, but it seems to put out a lot of light.
I forget! I want to say they’re 30 watt, but I can’t seem to find the exact ones on Amazon. They’re this design though, and they work great for my succulents!
Okay thanks for the info! I didn’t really want to put super bright light bulbs in if they weren’t going to do much to help the plants. Any thoughts on this light? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085CDPSMR/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ANMUVBGRJXATW&psc=1
I think about it too and haven't gotten my own shelf's lighting exactly the way I want it. I currently use a couple of lights like these on a similar shelf and they're working, that is, plants are growing but the lights aren't exactly aesthetically pleasing.
If I had my way, I'd have some of these but I have ideas floating around about putting some good quality grow bulbs in cheap wall fixtures like these.
Hope this helps.😊
Hmm, not what you asked, but I'd highly suggest you keep tropical plants (like Pothos) away from a basement window in Alberta.😅 For that to happen, I also highly suggest a grow light. Now, this is not a suggestion to spend a lot of money, and unfortunately, I have no idea what's available in Canada, but here's what I would get so I didn't have to worry about cold windowsills and lack of proper lighting.
There are plenty of cheaper LED's. I use one like this on the shady side of a plant shelf holding mostly Phalaenopsis orchids but one of the lamps is over recently rooted and newly planted Monstera andinsonii (mini monstera) cuttings. They are growing.😊
Or you could get an inexpensive lamp fixture, like this or this.
And a grow bulb like this or this.
Regarding bulbs... I have not used one like the first link but I have heard these types don't fit in every lamp fixture, so you'd want to measure and find a lamp that will fit it.
The 2nd link is for compact fluorescent bulbs with a daylight color temperature of 6500K. I use 2 of these over a terrarium where they sit about 20 inches/51 cm over the 'dirt'. Inside is Sansevieria, Rattlesnake Calathea, golden Pothos, Dracaena Limelight (grows like a weed), and up high is a Dischidia and a couple of air plants. Other than the Dracaena and Pothos, plants grow VERY slowly, though perhaps they'd grow faster if I could use fertilizer... I cannot due to a pet gecko inside the terrarium.
The term "plants" is what we'd call a fairly broad spectrum of organisms. As you'd agree, "feeling sick" is a fairly vague term in your area of expertise.
Stick to houseplants until you can really start doing bonsai outdoors.
Hi! Thanks a lot. Yea my place doesn't get too much sunlight. Does a regular desk lamp work or do you recommend buying one of these? https://www.amazon.com/Lights-Spectrum-Indoor-5-Level-Dimmable/dp/B085CDPSMR/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3017T1SEDGUFB&keywords=grow+light&qid=1669130614&s=lawn-garden&sprefix=grow+light%2Clawngarden%2C82&sr=1-4
I got these, but I can easily return for a different kind!
Nothing significant at all, just these lights with another desk lamp LED. Grow tent arriving tomorrow, with spider LED lights, with cloud line T6, dehumidifier and temp control. Thank you for your help!
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085CDPSMR/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_dl_E0SR3REEBVCGF5HQW49Q?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 I do have these I used to use on another tank with a glass lid
Say this light.. sorry for lack of formatting, I’m terrible on Reddit mobile
Btw, what do you class as an "intense" grow light? The one I have is very cheap so I assume it's not the most powerful: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085CDPSMR/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This is the light I use:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085CDPSMR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
To be perfectly honest I have no idea how much the light is helping as I haven't done an experiment to see the difference between growing with or without it but they have been growing pretty quick so I'm under the impression the light is giving them more photosynthesising time, especially as the daylight is pretty short right now where I am.
Since I started this container, I've only sprayed extra water in there a couple of times. It doesn't really dry out because I keep the lid on most of the time but as the moss grows, it incorporates some of the water into new growth and it grows higher above the water table so I try to replenish some of the water it uses and raise the water table slightly as it grows taller but the plants themselves have never showed any signs of thirst so these have been very small and occasional changes. I mostly just try to leave them alone.
For the small plants it would be best to get a flat light to go overhead. Or you can try one of these

I'll add that I have LED (https://smile.amazon.com/Lights-Spectrum-Indoor-5-Level-Dimmable/dp/B085CDPSMR/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=led+grow+lights&qid=1630686665&sr=8-9) that I was using inside. I have two sets and had one set on my Loph's and one set on my pedros. I got an actual T5 and put that on my pedros and switched both LED to Loph's. The pedros LOVED the new light and all of them stood up a little straighter. Maybe they liked the additional warmth of the T5? I dropped it down real close to them. But I suspect that some of the ratings on LED grow lights are less than accurate. With the additional summer growth mine have enjoyed, I'm not sure my T5 will be enough anymore...so I'm reading up on the posts in the sub about wintering/dormancy. Good Luck!
Help, got a bonsai a few weeks ago and just want to make sure its doing ok. I moved from DC to Florida and have been keeping it outside the last few weeks. I have started to notice some of the branches dying. https://imgur.com/a/6LtrpWj
I fertilized yesterday and have a pot that drains all of the excess water out. I also moved it indoors with some plant lights here in case it was too hot/humid here in the summer. https://www.amazon.com/Lights-Spectrum-Indoor-5-Level-Dimmable/dp/B085CDPSMR/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=plant+lights&qid=1629172668&sr=8-3
Is this normal?

What did you find with those lights? Did they work well for you?
Of course! I got this one off Amazon!
