This is the light Im using. Originally used it for my seeds for my garden, was done with it just in time for starting this process. I love it, it has a timer and I just set it for 12 hr cycles. Clipped it onto a shelf in my closet.
I got this one and it saved my fiddle leaf fig so I’m sure it would work wonders! There’s a timer on it, so I leave it on during the night (starting at 11pm for 9 hours) and it’s saved so many of my plants. I live in Chicago and it’s pretty dark here!

I think for the most part if you prune early and often, you can get some pretty successful tomatoes and basil in the harvest. If they still grow too tall, you can place them on the outside holes of the device and coerce them to grow more outwards through pruning so they go around the main light. I have a bounty but recently bought a harvest 360 for additional plants. There are tomatoes and peppers in there, so just in case I bought some additional grow lights to add supplemental light to the rest of the plant where the top light can't reach. I got this from amazon.
Yeah. It has this multi. Red and then blue. Which would you recommend? First time using a grow light. The one I use is blue/red combo together. I don’t know if I’m allowed to post links. It’s this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0838XNJS2?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details&th=1
$25-30 on Amazon, some even cheaper. I know it's not as glorious as like a spider farmer 9k or whatever but for a little supplemental light near a window it might be just what Dr. Greenthumb orderd.

These lights from Amazon are good enough to get you from seedling til you decide to transplant. Just be sure and slowly harden your plants, you can't just leave them outside all day to start, google "hardening off seedlings".
More context
Afghan autoflower I topped it hence the two branches I cut leaves cause after going to a 101 workshop they said it’s good to trim so all the nutrients go to the top 🤷🏾♂️ Light is a purple, red , blue light

Following up, I'm planning to buy these and set them up tomorrow, I use them for my aloe plants which are very happy but let me know if you don't think this will be sufficient : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0838XNJS2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_VAR3ZGSEV2E2FR0E0NGK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks again!
Yeah I had the same problem week before last. I got a light to use on days that aren’t ideal outside. Not sure if this would solve your problem or not but it might be worth a shot.

Thank you both for your responses! I ended up purchasing this light in hopes that I could dim it enough to not overdo the light and I could use the other lights for house plants. But now I'm second guessing myself lol
Miracle grow soil is great. Replace it all when you repot-bigger annually. If it doesn't outgrow it, just half the soil. Now, definitely repot with new soil and monitor the moisture with the meter and get the led grow lights, $30 on Amazon and it has a timer built in.light link remember to test the soil 3/4 way down for a good reading.
Yeah gonna buy one of those led grow lamps on amazon too
An LED set is only $30. You can rotate the plants or buy more LED set as budget permits. These are my favorite.

I use some brandless LED plant lights with red, white, and blue colors. I got them off Amazon. These are similar https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0838XNJS2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_1S0B05BDSAJ7FHKZM8MN
I think your lights would be A LOT more efficient if you used another spectrum. Some mix of blue and red will fit best. You can buy them or make them on your own.
The last link also explains the connection between light spectrum and effectiveness. Your setup looks nice, but will probably habe little to no effect (if u used normal white leds).
I hope this helps you to improve your project.
Thank you! I have limited space in this apartment. The two middle pots are the string of pearls with 1 pearl in each. crossing fingers

I picked this guy up.
I'm sure it's not great, but I didn't really want to invest in nice stuff before I knew this was going to be fun / interesting.

I can tune the light intensity/timer, and switch between Blue, Red, and Purple.
Some cursory googling got me to this website. It seems like it has trustworthy info?

I'd suggest starting with herbs first before jumping into vegetables, especially if you've never grown edible plants before. They grow super fast and you can start harvesting within a month of good growing, very rewarding. If you feel ready to jump into veggies, try leafy salad greens like kale, cabbage, and lettuce—again, very quick growers and early to harvest.
I've just started on beans (baby lima), tomatoes (tiny tims) and peppers (alma paprika), I've found them a bit more challenging and temperamental than all the previous plants I mentioned but I'm excited to see the literal fruits of my labors in a couple of months!
You'll need a few good growlights (you can find a bunch of decent ones on amazon), grow medium (I use a mix of coco coir and indoor potting soil), and a warmish spot/heat mat to germinate seeds. You're going to end up re-potting the plants a bunch when they are young and growing rapidly, so don't invest in any nice pots until they reach the size you want them to stay at.
A YouTuber I really like has a nice in-depth video about good beginner crops.
Happy growing!
Interesting, thank you. Are LED grow lights on Amazon such as this considered the same?
They do have a timer, I found them on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0838XNJS2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_JKfxEb75X5EMA
