Actually check these out. Only $5 more than the bloomspect, with coupon applied, but its actually better. Same diodes and driver, but it also has UV, it has a dimmer, and it covers more grow space. Think I might actually pick one up......
LeFreshinsoft Full Spectrum LED... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MXPTB29?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Yup sounds like it is the perfect size light for cloning in that space.
I use two of them in my 4x4 myself alongside a mars hydro tsw1000 maxisun pb1500 and spider farms sf1000. If I had to buy again I’d buy all lefreshinsoft f1000 but it wasn’t out when I bought the others.
The price went up to 84$ since I bought it I didn’t realize lol. but it’s still the best deal out there. A spider farms f1000 with the same diodes is 150$! And imo the lefreshinsoft is better the the sf1000 cause it has 395uva and runs cooler.
Honestly it doesn't even need to be that. Just look for the Samsung 301s and the Meanwell drivers. That's usually a good sign that you can pull a good crop with that light.
Here's a quick, cheap example of what I'm saying.
https://www.amazon.com/LeFreshinsoft-Spectrum-F1000-Dimmable-Samsung/dp/B08MXPTB29
Point is, please don't feel like your options are limited due to the current trends.
Neither. If there's 2 things to avoid these days, it's blurples and internal fans. Take 60 bucks and get something like the Vivosun in the other grower's reply, or even something like this would work great.
https://www.amazon.com/LeFreshinsoft-Spectrum-F1000-Dimmable-Samsung/dp/B08MXPTB29
With these type lights, it's best to just leave both switches on throughout the grow. You really should get something better for flower though.
Give this one a look over. Uses Samsung diodes, and is a good bang for your buck.
https://www.amazon.com/LeFreshinsoft-Spectrum-F1000-Dimmable-Samsung/dp/B08MXPTB29
When flowering stage hits, the results with that light will probably leave you quite disappointed. Sink 60 bucks into something like this, and congratulate yourself come harvest time.
https://www.amazon.com/LeFreshinsoft-Spectrum-F1000-Dimmable-Samsung/dp/B08MXPTB29
Keep plucking the pollen sacs. Maybe let a few go to see what they look like opened up. Take this as a learning opportunity. $60 light Unless you add a light you aren't gonna get much besides hands-on learning. Learn and watch how the plant grows. Take notes. Get some better genetics
I doubt you'll get many more sacs after the intial growth spurt/stretch. This looks like poor breeding. Not fully testing the seeds for herm tendencies. This is a hermaphrodite. Probably a female who throws out male flowers early.
As far as Amazon lights go I have only heard good reviews from one of the Off Brands. The ones with built-in fans are usually a bit of a gimmick.
The LeFreshinsoft f1000 is where I was directed, although my lighting budget doubled so I ended up with Kingbrites. This looks almost the same as one of ViparSpectra's lights.
2 of these will do your grow space perfectly.

This led light will outgrow that hps fixture in quality and yield and the hps costs 50% more for electricity. You’ll improve quality and same money replacing the hps.
What size is your space?
Yeah, and get a more efficient single light that can adjust the level like this one below:

Yeah, they don’t make any growlights that are usable for cannabis that are any smaller

Here’s the light I was talking about
Yes you need a special light but they are not expensive. For 60$ on Amazon you can get a top of the line Samsung 301b growlight that can handle starting your plants indoors no problem. And you can use it year round yielding 100-200g per light per harvest.
If you aren’t gonna order a dedicated growlight, they are better off being put straight into the ground.
Shit, your windowsill would be a better choice then a not grow light. So whatever you choose, don’t use not a grow light.

Here’s the link
The blurple phase and even my cheaper Amazon lights were never a problem. The new style light I bought really did a number. It’s also an Amazon light. Ridiculous name but I get why. Incognito. Lefreshinsoft lol So many posts about how this is a good SF replacement. I agree. Just not at max right above a plant.

Grab the 1000 not the 1000-1. The 1000 has added 395nm uva diodes which adds resin and terpenes production and helps protect against pm and pests. It’s Samsung 301b with 3k, 5k, 660nm,730 nm and 395nm diodes in 100 watts.
Grab two of them and you are good to go in veg. Once you have 4 and get in the swing of it, expect yields of 400-800g of better then the dispensary bud, plus trim for edibles every 3-4 months.
If you don’t have an inline fan yet, grab a 6 inch cloudline with the auto controls ; it’s also a vital part of the grow as important as the lights. Besides that, you will be good to go!
I have 3 of these lights personally alongside ones from spider farms, maxisun and mars hydro in my 4x4 flower tent. I think the quality of the Bluetooth microscope trichome shots speak for themselves that it’s a great light. And while I do treat it like a science and have done a fair bit of research, I’ve only been growing for a few years and even my first harvest was amazing. So I have no doubt with the same equipment you will have the same results.
I dunno, maybe you know more about these things than I do. I got this light off Amazon recommended from a friend that grows weed. It has a dimmer switch on it

I gotcha, don’t worry you aren’t the first or last to ask about led strips
I just wanted to make it clear how much of a difference a proper light makes. We talking 50-100 times the yield here, it’s just no comparison.
Grab a Samsung 301b quantum board or bar style led with added 660nm and added 730nm. Added uva is a sweet bonus too.

25-37.5 watts from the wall per square foot.
That’s really all you need to know to shop around and set up a grow light. You’ll be growing dank in no time and your only regret will be not doing this sooner!
Compare that to this light: costs less and isn’t a shit blurple half as efficient as a Samsung 301b quantum board while having shit blurple spectrum.

It’s people like you recommending shit lights that are literally against the rules that makes op confused in the first place.
You could get 2 or 3 of these and be better off. $60 for 100 watts.

For $20 more you could have this
100W from the wall, dimmable, and Samsung LM301B diodes. I got one and used it for a short time before upgrading my whole setup, but it’s decent quality for what you’re paying.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MXPTB29/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_XRGBTQ1R865NBSZZS98A
The f1000 size, says for a 3x3? So I assume it is
This the led your talking about correct? You think just one would be good for my 2x2 tent? Again thank you for the help
I have a Mars Hydro TS1000 and I recently was told about this LeFreshinsoft 1000W light and honestly it works better than the Mars Hydro and significantly cheaper. I had recently asked about lights as well and was pointed in this direction. When I upgrade I plan to get a few more of these lights. I’m grateful to find out about them because I was ready to spend hundreds on more MH lights.

This is the light btw
Omg it’s on sale for 68$ wtf that’s such an amazing deal lol! It was 83$ just a few days ago wow
You don't want a free standing lamp. Those are meant to just throw light at house plants to keep them alive...
Depending on how much you want to spend, you can find something with more power that will get cannabis thru its life cycle.
Find out what the grow space they plan on using is like. There's some fairly inexpensive lights w/ the high quality Diodes (the piece that throws the actual light) for anywhere between 60-150 bucks.
This one's not bad for $60 - it covers a 3x3 flowering area. That could give him 2 nice plants if he gets creative.
This is a higher quality light for $130 - it has a smaller flowering footprint but since it's a gift, he may end up liking it and grabbing himself an additional one to increase his footprint.
When you're shopping around, I've learned that the Diodes the key. You want to find a light with the Samsung 301 (or l301 it escapes me) which seems to have become the standard now. If you wanna set him off on the right path, assuming he's gonna stick with it, grab him that sonofarm light. It's got a 5 year warranty and it's a US company. - the $60 dollar one is good enough too. I would personal run either one of these lights. In fact, after the first of the year I'm probably going to get the 4000 model from Sonofarm. And no, im not affiliated with either brand. If you saw my lighting setup in my tents you'd probably tell me to go fuck myself.
That's an awesome thoughtful gift though. Very cool of you. You've gotta have a good family dynamics to spread love like that. I commend that. Good luck and enjoy the holidays! (4 more months til spring!)
Just do some research. There's a ton of them out there.
https://www.amazon.com/LeFreshinsoft-Spectrum-F1000-Dimmable-Samsung/dp/B08MXPTB29
And they're getting to be so inexpensive these days.
Check this one out OP...
https://www.amazon.com/LeFreshinsoft-Spectrum-F1000-Dimmable-Samsung/dp/B08MXPTB29
Ok so I have aredy talk to some people about this idea and some people told me I need to get this type of equipment
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MXPTB29/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_CS46GHQ6VJYCD3821H1E?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 they said I need to get minimum 2 of the plus I need a and a inline fan like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZXWN3BG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9TFQ52FFHD1M0K1PSM6N I don't have that kind of budget and it is my first grow so I don't know if I need to invest in all that I don't need a high yield just to get experience and I can upgrade along the way
I really have seen in practice boards the boards I own spider farms, hlg, mars hydro, maxisun, bloom plus, viparspectra, lefreshinsoft f1000, etc etc perform exactly the same.
I literally bought a different brand each time I board on led so I could try them all as long as they filled the criteria.
I wanted to see who was best. And really, the conclusion is they are all great and they are all mostly the same in theory and literally the same in practice They are all using the exact same parts so it’s not surprising the difference in practice doesn’t exist.
I haven’t had a single board break. Zero issues despite many different companies and price points.
All can hit 1600ppfd when setup properly across the whole tent(I like staggering 6 small 100 watt over 1 large 600 watt one to get increased even spread). and it doesn’t cost more to do so, many times less, and then you can dim each one individually based on needs of space and plant. To sum it up; many small boards gives Modularity.
So I can’t pick a favorite per say: it would be easier to break it down into categories based on price:
If I had unlimited money; I’d go with a fluence spyder simply cause I wanna play with the spectrum settings and run experiments to see how spectrum effects the grow. But that’s like not me wanting it cause of some need, or to yield more or have higher quality, that’s more like a fun thing I wanna mess around with. A fun thing that would cost me about 1000$ lol. And of course, gavita leds are very good as well. The mammoth would be somewhere in this category price range wise as well but I don’t know enough about it~
Hlg and spider farms close to this price point as well, but imo at this price range, its best to just spring for the best of the best and choose one of the above companies. Don’t get me wrong, the boards are great, but so are all the other ones. It’s a price thing.
Mid price range: the mars hydros, the maxisun, the viparspectas etc etc not much to say here: it’s an okay deal for a board that will work great, but for my money, if I was gonna choose mid price range, I’d just skip down to low price range, as the quality, as long as you choose the right board, is exactly the same.
Low price range: I’m gonna say for most growers, this is gonna suit you https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MXPTB29/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_CS46GHQ6VJYCD3821H1E?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It’s a 100 watt led. So if you got a 4x4 , grab 6 of them and you got a dedicated led for each plant you can customize the height and dimmer to each plants needs, it’s 360$ and not 1000$ and it’s the same wattage, the same Samsung leds , the same spectrum but better(Lefreshinsoft f1000 has 395nmuva which not even many high price boards have, including the mammoth).
Then of course there is kingbrite and meiju on alibaba: reviews are mostly positive here, haven’t tried it personally. Of course there’s horror stories, but that’s also true of all the boards I tried and none of them turned out to be true. That being said, it’s alibaba straight from China so there’s obviously an increased level of risk then buying from Amazon.
Now, in low price range you gotta watch out: something like 600 series(tsw600, sf600, p600) etc etc are shit tier and are not worth buying. Not because of low price But because they don’t fit the criteria I listed! Meaning low quality. Or something like unit farms leds. Those are bad too because bad spectrum and low diode count.
It’s my personal opinion most of the money spent on a high price led is spent on the brand name and “bragging rights”.
That being said, again, anyone of these boards from high end to low end gonna pay for itself, and within a year you won’t really notice if you paid 360$ for 600 watts of Samsung 301 or 1000$ for 640 watts of Samsung 301 cause they both pay for themselves within 4 months.
It’s kind of splitting hairs: I know this decision on brand seems important, but really it’s not.
Remember: all Samsung 301 led are made in same factory in China. All drivers made in same factory in China. All heatsink made in same factory. Assembly done in same factory. The only difference is truly the name on the board in many cases. Even the “made in usa” boards are all really made in China. The LEDs, heatsink driver and most of the assembly is done in China, then they screw the driver to the heatsink in usa and call it “made in usa”.
The question you are asking is kind of like asking “who makes your favorite computer using an i9, a rtx3080 32 gh ram and a 1tb ssd etc etc”. In a way, once you list out the proper criteria for a computer to buy in 2022, the name on the box doesn’t matter so much cause in the end, they all coming from the same factories and being assembled by the same poor factory workers. Yeah it’s be cool to have an alienware with the lights and shit but would I recommend that to people or choose it as my favorite? No. It’s not gonna make sense for 99% of people.
LeFreshinsoft Full Spectrum 1000W LED Grow Light F1000 Series 3 x 3ft Coverage Dimmable Samsung UV IR Grow Lamps for Indoor Plants https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MXPTB29/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_CS46GHQ6VJYCD3821H1E?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1.
4x8 is 5 times the size of a 3x3. So it’s gonna cost close to 4 times as much as 450$. And it will yield 5 times as much. I’d expect to spend about 1600-2000$ by the time you done. The size of the tent determine how many lights you need, what fan you need, etc etc. so if you wanna spend 450$ you need to stick to 3x3. A 4x4 is about 850$.

Ah I realized these are all usa Amazon links. The lefreshinsoft f1000 may not be available in Canada idk.
But any Samsung 301 led will do. Mars hydro, spider farms, maxisun, viparspectra, etc there’s a lot of companies to choose from that make Samsung 301 led quantum board or bar style fixtures.
You need 25-37.5 watts per square foot . And that’s watts from the wall(that 1000 watt led you listed was only 50-100 watts). For example: the lefreshinsoft f1000 is 100 watts, so for a 4x8 space you’d need 8-12 of them.
That, and the cloudline, for a 4x8 you’ll need an 8 inch cloudline with auto controls.
These lights are the absolute best bang for the buck.

Also looks like you might be in a ceramic or plastic pot, fabric pots are way better for drainage and airflow - ceramic and plastic are good at neither. Heres an example:

Go ahead and read the listing: it uses literally the exact same parts as the vivosun board : Samsung 301b. And it’s the same wattage. In the exact same spectrum. Well actually it’s even better spectrum because it has 395nmuva !!!!
You gotta remember most of these boards that are worth buying use the same samsung301b diodes in the same spectrum. The main difference between them is simply the brand and the price.
So literally, I’m the opposite of the guy telling you to buy elitist shit.
If I was that guy I’d say “buy a gavita or hlg” that costs literally 3-4 times the lefreshinsoft f1000 and uses the same Samsung 301b diodes and doesn’t even have added 395nmuva.
But I’m not so I’m gonna get you the best quality equipment for cheaper then many mid or low tier options.
And since lefreshinsoft has 395nmuva it’s better then the vs1000 at half the price!
And the price dropped from the last time; now it’s only 60$. Holy shit thatS a deal!
Grab the maximum 5 of those lights and put them with the vs1000 and you’ll be putting out 600-1200g. Grab the minimum you’ll need of 3 and it’ll be 400-800g.
If you wanna save some money, send back the vs1000 and buy 2 f1000s for the same price lol.
I’m using these lights in my 4x4 , and I just harvested 1000g plus of top shelf flower. You can see the results in my profile to see I’m not bullshitting you.
I’m calm, But you gotta realize, it really is youre grow career on the line. The difference between using strip leds of any kind and a real grow light is the difference between complete failure and complete success.
Those strips will harvest nothing for 25$ or 60$ to harvest 100-200g. When the difference is that large, and the OP hasn’t fully grasped that, you can bet that I’m going to make sure you do.
And you have to realize, I’m TRYING TO HELP YOU HARVEST 600-1200g vs 0g with those strips or 100-200g with the vs1000 you already have. So excuse me if I used capital letters to stress the importance.
The light is the single most important part of the setup; you cannot succeed without it. I’m just trying to stress that to you, in no uncertain terms, so there’s no way for you to continue wasting time grasping at straws trying to justify the strip light idea.
These are supposed to be exceptional and they're $60 each on Amazon. You would only need one for a 2x2 or 2 for a 4x2 grow. I'm brand new to this but I've been doing a lot of research and this light was recommended to me. Don't necessarily take my word for it, run it by a few people, but these lights are supposed to be really good (Lefreshinsoft F1000)
Damn, that sucks. If you absolutely can't set up a heat evac, grab a few of these:

Edit: This is a great low heat LED light for veg and flower, it still gives off a little heat, but much less than a HPS. They're fairly affordable, and 2 will cover a 5' x 5' pretty well, 3 or 4 if you wanna max 'em out.
