It is sharp, but I simply told my mom it wasn’t and that convinced her. It’s not sharp enough the cut skin very easily, but it definitely isn’t dull. Haunting my own feed 'cause I'm bored; it comes blunt, but if you actually know how create an edge, it's barely a days' work to get it up to snuff (unless you're old school and do it all by hand) and it is 100% a battle capable sword; 1045 high carbon steel, fullered blade, full tang and a true two-handed grip, though it is balanced well enough that it can be used single-handed without immediately breaking your wrist and the blade design leaves enough room for a choke-up grip in those particularly hairy situations and it's surprisingly affordable
My only complaints, as it were, is that the handle wrap and scabbard covering are faux-leather, so not the best for an epic quest, but damn if it doesn't look pretty af sleeping on my wall, waiting for its' time...
