There's no case other than the smart keyboard. The pen is attached with one of these: https://www.amazon.com/LEUCHTTURM1917-304637-Leuchtturm-Loop-Black/dp/B002CWMAPW/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=pen+loop+leuchtturm&qid=1553797864&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Here's my cheap solution! Not perfect but gets the job done.
A few £/$ from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/LEUCHTTURM1917-304637-Leuchtturm1917-Loop-Black/dp/B002CWMAPW
Some fancy stationery shops sell pen loops for attaching a pen to a notebook. Like this thing https://www.amazon.ca/Leuchtturm-1917-304637-Loop-Black/dp/B002CWMAPW?th=1
You can probably make something similar?
I've already emailed directly, but here is my feedback also for anyone who cares enough to read.
Journal - General Points of Excellence
· The dot matrix is perfect! Much nicer than lines or blank as it allows for structure – love it
· The paper choice is spot on – reminds me of the paper used in my favourite day books (Leuchtturm1917)
· The cover and general style are perfect – fits in very nicely with my preferred look
· The structure of the book is great – love the distinct sections and think you’ve generally done a great job of balancing structure vs freedom
Journal - General Points for Improvement
· The margins on each page are different, where I would expect them to be the same – most notable when you flick through the printing seems to jump up and down.
· Would love for each page to be numbered in print – this especially makes sense for the index. Also, in the bottom outer corner, not the top middle next to the date
· I don’t understand what the “<continued from page” and “continued on page>” markers are for… perhaps I’m missing something but isn’t that obvious given how books read
· Would get great use out of a page marker – bit of ribbon or something to mark the next page would be good
· Additionally to the page marker, a pen loop would be great too – perhaps one like this where you can add it if you wish (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002CWMAPW?pf_rd_p=330fbd82-d4fe-42e5-9c16-d4b886747c64&pf_rd_r=STQGQ863FS435VKXKEWH)
· The index is printed on the back cover… don’t like to write on the cover – this should be a blank page like it is at the front
Logistics and Ordering Process
· As someone based in the UK, the cost of shipping from the US was a real concern – I appreciate you use Cotton Bureau as the fulfilment partner, and don’t have a say in where the items are held but I would LOVE to see this on something like Amazon UK using “fulfilled by Amazon” so I can get one via Prime with free shipping
· I appreciate this is a trial run, and demand was way over the expected amount – but if I want to continue using this journal… am I going to be able to get another in my hands for Q4?
· Price – at $20 this fell inline with what I would normally pay for something of similar makeup– well priced :)
How I Use the Journal
Each of the 3 remaining theme pages then go into detail for the outcomes from the overarching theme, for example “the quarter of order” splits into “daily routine”, “household organisation” and “finances” – all three sub-themes come under the main theme – this then allows me in the ideal outcomes for each sub-theme to specify more granular goals.
a. n.b. the grey shading next to each ideal outcome row holds an identifier, for the master theme it’s 1,2 and 3 – then each outcome in the sub themes is 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, etc… this allows for easy reference later
a. Overall summary of the day – what was done of note as a reminder to the day, for example any events I attended or what I was up to
b. Progress on goals, this is where I detail each of the themes and sub themes and how I felt I did on each day
c. The biggest section, where I detail any failures/comments/things I’m grateful for ect… this part is most like a typical dear diary journal
d. Improvements going forward – where I identify any shortcomings and write notes to my future self
I would have just stuck one of these bad mama jammas on the keyboard. Good solution though.
These also work quite well, though the Belroy suggestion that Kyle linked earlier is super nice too: https://www.amazon.com/LEUCHTTURM1917-304637-Leuchtturm1917-Black-Loop/dp/B002CWMAPW
