I have an ultrasonic humidifier from amazon. It holds 4-6 liters and doesn't produce much heat or noise. You can set a humidity target and it will turn on and off as needed. It is something similar to this https://www.amazon.com/LEVOIT-Humidifiers-Ultrasonic-Humidifier-Whisper-Quiet/dp/B01MYGNGKK/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=vivosun+humidifier&qid=1626876765&sr=8-8
What type of exhaust do you have for the tent? I'm also growing in a 4x2 and I found I needed a 4" exhaust fan with an adjustable dial otherwise the fan was too powerful and I was just sucking all the humidity out.
I'm really sensitive to dry air during the winter, so we've gone through a number of humidifiers. This is the one we currently have, and it is great. I have also noticed that it helps with my skin care routine as well as not having a sore throat when I wake up.

Levoit, all day every day I have the 6L, totally reliable, doesn't leak, various mist levels, hot or cold, auto shut off, timer, remote control, able to doffuse essential oils also if you wish. I've recommended it to several people now who had other makes that let them down/ broke or who just needed a first time purchase and not a single person I've recommended it to has regretted the purchase. It's slightly more expensive than some makes but imo is one of the best out there, and it's a large size so you don't have to refll it every 5 minutes. They're are smaller and cheaper Levitt models and I think they are a great brand for humidifiers but this model is the one I recommend and use myself. I just went to find you an Amazon link for the model I have & it's actually on sale: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Levoit-Humidifiers-Ultrasonic-Humidifier-Vaporizer/dp/B01MYGNGKK/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?crid=3LP9JJN853UP5&keywords=levoit+humidifier&qid=1656064033&sprefix=levoit%2Caps%2C83&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW...
I bought this - Humidifer - to deal with how dry my apartment was getting.
So far, it's working well for me!
Also yes, I've been putting tap water in there and haven't really noticed a difference. When I lived in Springfield, my parents put tap water in their humidifier as well, and we never had an issue.
Oh I actually have one of theirs! This one :
It doesn’t seem to work very well. Plus the fog just goes straight down to the floor and makes the floor wet unless I put my ceiling fan on high.
I recently bought this 'Levoit' and it's total shit. The build quality is just okay and the tank feels like it's held together with glue. I've had it on full-blast for days and it barely hovers about 30% humidity. Beware the bullshit 'amazon's choice' is my advice.
This one doesn't shoot straight up but has a part you can turn to adjust direction. We have one in our bedroom and the nursery. Super easy to clean and holds a large amount of water. Also, its pretty kid friendly, my 11mo old can use it to stand himself up and it doesnt tip or shift even when empty.

Not GREAT at perfect humidity (usually underestimates) but because it does auto detect, you only have to fill it up once a week.
Also VERY clean, if you keep the cool mist I’ve found you only have to clean it every 2 months, with warm mist it’s usually every month.
A little expensive, but less expensive than replacing a $30 humidifier every year because there’s mildew in places you can’t reach.
I recently purchased multiple humidifiers + a hygrometer to measure humidity and keep it between 50-55% in the house. Then I use saline nose spray for my sinuses and Vaseline in my nostrils. The Vaseline helps a lot, but nothing helps as much as the humidifiers. Before I got them, I found out the avg humidity in the house was around 25% because of our gas fireplaces and central heat. I used to live in an appt with a steam radiator and never had dry nose issues, so I kinda put 2 and 2 together and realized what the change was.
Just that simple change of adding moisture to the air makes a huge difference!! My skin looks WAY better and my eyes are a tiny bit better. This is one of the humidifiers I have that works really well and you can get hygrometers on Amazon for like $10.
Is your Levoit an ultrasonic or evaporative? If it's ultrasonic, have you had to deal with white dust? The Levoit LV600HH is easily the humidifier I'm the most interested in, but the white dust from my current ultrasonic humidifier is a big problem for me right now.
I got the Levoit ultrasonic humidifier because it seemed so popular, and now I see why. It’s awesome. Here’s the link on Amazon

I love levoit brand humidifiers! They’re available on Amazon. Using this in a 5'x5'x8' tent (6" ventilation, HLG-600) and it works very well. Just popped it in the other day on a new grow (seedlings), set the thermostat to 60%, adjusted the mist level to 3 (default is 2), and it holds the RH between 50%-65%. I figure I will be able to turn the mist level down once the plants are rolling due to transpiration increasing the humidity level.
Perhaps this one, as OP stated...
> between 70 and 100 bucks
Sounds like the bridge is too low. The C string should be @8.5mm above the end of the fingerboard This time of year (the winter heating season) the cello shrinks so the bridge goes down. It is a good idea to keep the cello in a humidified environment and have a calibrated hygrometer to keep track of the humidity. Probably won’t change this, but it will protect your cello and make it happier. Here is an article on the topic. I have his hygrometer. BTW, most major violin dealers in NYC keep the humidity at 40% so that instrument don;t experience shock when they are taken out of the shop.

I've had this onethis one for a few years. Big tank, good electronic controls.
Definitely this one: https://www.amazon.com/LEVOIT-Humidifiers-Ultrasonic-Humidifier-Whisper-Quiet/dp/B01MYGNGKK/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=levoit+lv600hh&qid=1621277771&sr=8-2
It's so easy to clean! There's a reason most plant people end up with this model.
This is a favorite among plant people
I bought this one too, which has some qualities I love (mist shoots up to my highest plant shelves, automatic setting and remote, a slot for essential oil, and overall looks sleek) BUT it is so awkward to fill the tank and it's a pain in the ass to clean, so I can't recommend it!
How often you'll have to clean it depends on your environment, your water, and the unit itself. Weekly is fine for all of mine though.
Oh I have this tiny one for my prop shelf and it's great. Low output but it's good enough for that purpose. It might be fine if you only need it for one orchid.
If you have the money, this has the option to automatically humidify your space when it detects low humidity. It also has a dual nozzle so you can have one pointed at a specific plant who has high humidity needs and the other nozzle to humidify the rest of the space.
I currently have this one. It's only a cool humidifier and doesn't have the the fancy settings as the previous one, but it's easy to fill, easy to use and it gets the job done. My apartment has very dry air so I just set the humidifier on low for the whole day.
You can also make a humidifier tray with a small tray and a bag of pebbles you can get from the dollar store. Fill the tray with pebbles and then fill it with just enough water that it doesn't go above the rocks. Place the plant on top of the pebbles and the water will naturally evaporate and humidify your plant.
A temporary fix I did when I noticed one of plants was starting to wrinkle and crack from the dry air in my apartment (and my humidifier wasn't coming in for another week) was placing it on top of a humidifier tray and wrap the whole thing, plant and tray, in a plastic bag. The plant creates it's own oxygen and carbon dioxide so you don't have to worry about suffocating it. Also, because the humidity keeps the soil moist you don't have to water as often. Just keep it away from direct sunlight or else your plant will cook like steaming vegetables. Monitor to make sure no mold or fungus are growing.
Also bonus, I found Millipedes at the bottom of the bag, so not only did wrapping my plant kept the humidity up, but also quarantined the pest infestation from my other plants.
What do you think about this one: https://www.amazon.com/LEVOIT-Humidifiers-Ultrasonic-Humidifier-Whisper-Quiet/dp/B01MYGNGKK if I wanted something smaller for the bedroom?
