If you do this I would invest in an auto humidifier. I have this one and it works but the readings are way off so it's annoying to calibrate to the accurate humidity all the time. When I traveled for the holidays a few years ago the auto-watering worked fine but the humidity got me. Plants were burned to a crisp and turns out day 2 my humidity plummeted to like 20% and just stayed there.
I like my 4 litre humidifier best. Also I pick one that makes it easier to fill. I’ve chosen this one 3 times because I like the handle and the ease of filling. LEVOIT Humidifiers for Bedroom,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WKZVWRD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The routine I did for the damaged barrier, for about 1-2 months (basically how long it took to heal):
AM - Splash with room temp water - Apply Vanicream Ceramides/HA lotion - Biossance SPF30 or Pipette SPF50
PM - Purito From Green cleansing oil - Aveeno Calm & Restore Cleanser - Aveeno Calm & Restore Oat Gel - Pure white petrolatum
Humidifier in bedroom, with door closed for night.
The routine I have now that I’m healed:
AM - Splash with room temp water OR light wash with Aveeno Calm & Restore Cleanser - Rotate between Li Effector Licorice Root and Inkey List Q10 all days except Wed - Wednesday: A Vit C serum, and I wash w Inkey List Salicylic Acid cleanser beforehand - Sunscreen (Usu MDSolar Science Mineral Moisture SPF50 topped w their Beauty Balm SPF50, but I also still use Biossance SPF30, Pipette SPF50, Olay Sensitive SPF30 OR MDSolar Science Tinted SPF30; just kinda depends on the day, but they’re mostly all mineral except the Olay, which is gentle for my skin; chemical sunscreen burned me in particular)
PM - Purito From Green cleansing oil - Curology facewash (I’ve been on Curology for 10 months and was using this before the barrier damage) - Mondays: Curology tretinoin formula buffered w Curology cream - Tuesdays/Thurs/Sat: Cosrx Pure Fit Cica Serum then Aveeno Calm and Restore Oat Gel - Wed/Fri/Sun: Cosrx Pure Fit Cica Serum then First Aid Beauty BarriAIR cream - Sometimes I still slug w white petrolatum OR the Pipette baby balm stick
I’m trying to work back up to the Curology tret formula 2x / week, so am feeling it out and taking it slow.
Hope this helped!!
It went up in price $4 since I bought it but yes it is the onelevoit

I own both of these and they're great. If your house is dry you're going to have a bad time. I actually have two of these humidifiers and like to keep it at 50%, otherwise I get cracked lips and all of that.
Something that was rated for a small bedroom. The second ones a little more, but that's made for grow tent.

I have two of these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WKZVWRD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
One is in my dedicated plant room and one is in my living room where my fireplace is since we heat the whole house with it (except the plant room, that's heated with a radiator type portable heater) and it gets really dry in there.
I think the price is right and there are three mist levels to taylor to your needs. I use the one in my plant room (12 x 12) on the lowest setting and it keeps the whole room at 75% or thereabouts as I keep the door shut. The one in my living room (12 x 20) I run on medium and the plants around it seem to be happy, although I haven't measured the exact humidity in there.
There are others that do more and smaller ones that do less. This is a place to start. I do run mine all day 24/7 in the winter and they've held up well. I clean them once a week (okay sometimes it's two :) and they haven't let me down yet!

I just bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WKZVWRD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I've used it every day for about two weeks and I have to say it's wonderful! The price isn't bad either!
I just ordered this one today to check it out for a relatively small room (8 x 10 feet). A respected name and the price was right!
