It's back in stock (for the moment at the time of this writing) but usually sells out incredibly quick. One of the best 1440p 144hz ips gaming monitors and is gsync compatible certified. I'd definitely try and snag one if I were you. Hardware Unboxed reviewed the 850 which is the same panel and adores it (also mentions the 83A in his best gaming monitors video).
At $379, in my opinion it's the best bang for your buck.
This LG panel goes on sale for $340~ pretty often and I would choose it over this TN panel in a heartbeat. This Dell monitor is a great TN panel, but it is still a TN panel. Even at the $80 premium right now, I'd still buy the IPS monitor over this Dell as I had a variant of this Dell in the past.
There is a qualitative difference going for 1440 from 1080. It’s easier on the eyes when reading text. This also true to go to 4K.
This is almost a 100 over your budget but this should be what your looking for - mobile so bad at creating links.
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_gHN3FbDCRAZR4
You should be able to find many ips good displays at 1440 with low price as long as your not looking for gaming/higher refresh.
I'd go for the 1440p honestly. Even in Apex Legends, which is fairly demanding, you can get a steady 144 FPS on medium/high mixed settings. Path of Exile is even less demanding, so you should be able to do it fairly well.
https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
This is a great monitor and $362 isn't that bad of a price, but it was on sale for ~ $300 on Prime Day a week or two ago.
I'd recommend this one, it goes on sale occasionally too https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
And no you shouldn't worry about fps with a 3080 at the moment. Also a 3080 on 1080p kinda sounds wasteful to me personally, it's more of a 1440p/4k card
edit: looks like it's on sale rn actually
hmmm im pretty noob at technology, im playing ps5 on my LG monitor, which mode would be better for my monitor? https://www.amazon.ca/-/fr/LGUlgear-27gl83a-B-27-pouces-compatible/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=sr\_1\_5?crid=20DPPZCHL2QB6&keywords=lg+monitor+27+inch&qid=1667497907&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjM4IiwicXNhIjoiNC4zNCIsInFzcCI6IjMuNzAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=lg+...
Facts. Not to mention I have amazing video quality. I did weeks of research to get the way the game looks perfect. I installed software/drivers for my monitor. I edited Nvidia control panel. I edited the monitor software. I edit the cod player player file for better performance (something to do with the amount of cores you have), I edited the in game settings and finally I edited the Nvidia filters. The biggest difference was the software for my monitor! If any of you have a $300+ monitor make sure you install the drivers/firmware/software for it or you are not using its full potential.

That’s my monitor. It’s amazing I love it. The program you download for it is a game changer. You can adjust so many things!
This is what I went with about a month ago and am quite happy with it. It’s my second monitor so I don’t mind the somewhat limited IO on the back.

There’s a used one that is within your budget, if that doesn’t bother you. Personally with Amazon I’m usually willing to take the chance.
I've had this one for a while and still love it
I was JUST about to say as well that OP would be bottlenecking his whole system with his monitors. Shoot for 1440p 144hz, and make sure that the ghosting/bleeding/form is good!
Here is the main monitor I use:
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_3Z3VHB6FPD8TEKY7WY2B?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I use that and then another 27in 1080p 144hz for second monitor. Works great for me!
edit: Forgot to add that I did my research on that monitor and it’s well worth it! hardly any ghosting or bleeding. Love it!
Its only terrible compared to VA but still better than usual TNs with 750:1 ratios, in any case due to what you play i dont see VA as feasible and TN is well TN...
In fact with your budget i suggest one with even worse contrast just because how well it does everything else Amazon.com: LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black: Computers & Accessories ,response times are state of the art for 144 hz IPS
I have a very similar monitor that I got from Amazon for $379 and I love the way it looks. However, I upgraded from an old 1080p 60hz TN panel so it was a big difference
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_6-17FbQ6AG6B7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Well the issue I’m seeing is light shafts and bloom are present even though my default is “off”, if I turn them on and apply then turn them back off and apply it works fine, just weird it has to be reset every time I turn the game on
So what monitors will pull the 120fps on? Would This one be any good? https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=1440p+144hz+monitor+ips&qid=1605887706&sprefix=1440&sr=8-3
I believe, and anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but the best 1440p/144hz IPS monitor available when it comes to price vs performance is the LG 27GL83A.
Its price hasn't changed in over a year, so if you're not willing to spend $380 on an excellent monitor, I'd think that ~$300 for a decent one is probably a decent price.
I don’t think there is any monitor currently out that supports HDMI 2.1 yet. But considering your budget covers up to $1,500 I’d like to throw the LG CX 48” OLED. It is bigger than you’d want however it’s and amazing tv that supports HDMI 2.1 and the color production is ridiculous and gorgeous. Makes for an excellent monitor too. I’d recommend checking out Linus Tech Tips video he did on it while using it as a monitor.
I would also like to throw in the LG 27GL83A. It’s a 1440p 144hz monitor but it does not support HDMI 2.1 but it’s an excellent monitor either way. It has a downscaler which I recently learned about which allows the Xbox and ps5 to render at 4K/60 and scales it down to 1440p. Only thing with this one is that it’s 27 inch. This is the monitor I currently use with my pc and will be using with my ps5 when it arrives.
Anyways good luck in your search for the best monitor.
At this price point, this is about as solid as it get based on my research and checking out a lot of models in stores: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I own one, and I'm very happy with it.
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zJmzFbAV8KX49
These are the #1 rated 1440p of 2019, when they’re in stock they are $380. They usually come back into stock several times a week, and are incredible for the price. I use them personally.
I’ve owned the LG 27GL83A-G since the beginning the of this year. It’s been perfect for me, I’d recommend it.
Great colors and gets decently bright. Response times are good. It’s G-Sync compatible.
IMO it’s greatest weakness is the HDR mode so I never enable it. It’s an IPS display though so it doesn’t really need it.
Definitely downgrade to 1440/144Hz instead, since you're coming from a 4K monitor. You won't feel as cramped while still having a high refresh rate. The LG 27GL83A-B is a popular option (when it's actually in stock for $379 or $344 as of recently): https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
Probably the wrong spot to ask but this monitor ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_-XDfFb3M67SQ1) says it will arrive around September. A lot of people mentioned they purchased it and got it like in a week. Should I still order it? Thanks
Yeah, the Raptor is way overpriced for what it offers. The LG 27GL83A-B would be a great option. It's 1440p/144 Hz and is certified for NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility. You would need a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter or cable to take advantage of variable refresh rate support.
The LG 27GL850a-b is a great IPS 1440p 144hz monitor, espcially if you can get it under US$400.
Source: I have this as my main monitor and would highly recommend it. It's $379 on Amazon right now but not in stock til October so you might have to go with another monitor if you don't want to wait long
It's the LG 27gn83a-b. https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=sr_1_1?crid=A6JUIQ5RW052&dchild=1&keywords=lg+27gn83a-b&qid=1599094112&sprefix=LG+27gn83a-b%2Caps%2C140&sr=8-1 I think this is the link on amazon. These were just up for sale and I got mine on the warehouse deal for $320
i’ve been using this since march. it’s highly praised on buildapcsales and is typically sold out on amazon, it’s pretty great, can’t complain, definitey better than my old insignia 2k 144hz with lines across it lol.
Okay so a 1080p monitor changes things, the lower the resolution, the more CPU bound.. so now the CPU is the issue, that being said even if the CPU gets upgraded, 1080p is still too low for that GPU, so your best best is to upgrade to a 1440p monitor. I recommend the LG 27GL83 which is great performance for the price, and it's on sale.
After that you can upgrade your CPU, I'd wait for next gen cpu's before you do that though, they're coming soon.
At 27' going from 1080 to 1440 you will notice a massive difference, of course you'll also notice a massive performance cost increase, which means you'll need a better GPU to run 1440p on high frame rates. You said you wanted 1440p at 144-165hz, that is approaching 3080 territory if you want fidelity + resolution.
The best monitor right now would be 27GL83A-B
I hear that the 3060 ti is one, if not the best performance for price card out of the 30 series. I would stick with that.
In terms of the monitor I would get one that supports g-sync, hears what I would suggest
I dont know anything about this monitor, but the price matches your ask and its on significant sale.
This monitor doesn’t seem to bad but I found another that is flat and has about the same specs. This one is also 144hz. Personally, the other one might be a better deal, but this one is also pretty good for comparison.
I don't think I'll ever buy another LG monitor again. I gave up after buying the 27GL83A-B twice because of out-of-the-box issues. I don't know if this model is any better. Both monitors had dead pixels, unfortunately.
On the bright side, Amazon's return process is pretty easy. The first time around, I had 30 days to drop it off at Canada Post.
The one I got is on sale at the moment. It’s at least a year old so that’s prob why but this monitor is a beast LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_MEPXHNXHF193FPCYVDQ8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Hey all, looking for advice on a new monitor. I currently have a 1440p 144hz Asus that is on the way out. I'm looking to replace it with something that has at least the same resolution & refresh rate. My budget is a couple hundred bucks (~300?). My PC is a few years old but it has a GTX 1080. I was looking at the LG 27GL83A-B 27, does that seem like a good choice? Any other good options? Thanks!
Oop, my bad on the 4k part. It's only 2k. I do have options to put it up to 4k though and my consoles will play through it at 4k. I think that might have something to do with the 4k elgato and hdmi switcher I have, though.
Anyway, it's this one LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear really really damn good monitor for a good price too. I've been playing PC games along with my PS5 and Series X and everything looks phenomenal. Switch still looks like shit because it's running like -350p on such a big monitor but what are ya gonna do? lol

This is the monitor I have. I am using the high speed hdmi that came with the Xbox.
I’m waiting for a 1440 to get delivered today and I hooked up a 10 los Samsung 1080 24”, surprisingly games look amazing on it but 27 is barely bigger and you can get the LG fon sale for $279 for 1440p and 120hz. It’s getting delivered today.

No im not joking, just not very knowledgeable with tech and need as many details as possible. Im looking at purchasing this monitor here;

These are what I use. Was the #1 rated monitor in 2019 I believe, and I have no complaints other than the stock stands take up a lot of space.
I don’t follow monitors super closely, but I highly doubt you can get something much higher quality at $340 USD
If you can afford it this is probably worth the investment https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PZ031X54F9YK55WRCJ8E
1080p is so dated and you’d be wasting so much power of your GPU with a card like that in most games. Especially with DLSS being so common nowadays. This monitor has everything you could ever ask for within reason. 1440p, 144hz, IPS, and gSync

This is what I’ve been using. It does 120 fps at 1440p. It works very well

This is what I use, a nice benefit of this monitor is that it has HDR in this price range.
In the same boat. Been using a 32 inch sony bravia tv and a random asus 24 inch 1080 60hz monitor for the last 10 or more years now. Never experienced another over 60hz. Ordered this one on Friday, super excited to see how different it will be. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_asin\_title\_o00\_s02?ie=UTF8&th=1
I have this one. LG-27LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear
I love this one but just RMA'd it for a couple dead pixels. It's most likely for a move but unsure. LG said they would cover it. either rmonitor I had a great RMA be with LG. If you buy it form Amazon, they been will go you file your RMA request with LG. It avoids you getting ignored by them.
I know its a little smaller than you asked for, but I recently switched from a full HD 75HZ 34 inch LG Ultrawide to a new 27 inch QHD 144HZ IPS panel and it has been perfect. I don't miss the screen real estate because the QHD vs FHD difference.
For gaming it has been the best monitor I've used so far. Always felt bad using an external monitor to game that didn't have the same resolution and fresh rate as the screen on the G15 itself, and now that I have QHD and 144HZ on the big screen its been amazing.
My monitor below for reference:
Watch this monitor. Recently was on sale for $299.99. Very good monitor.

I might order this one as it seems to be on the compatible list and is around my price range.
Does this have the Berny seal of approval? :D

How does this compare to the similarly-priced LG 27GL83A-B 27"?
I noticed the LG boasts 1ms response time, whereas the BenQ is 5ms.
Integrated speakers don't really matter to me, nor does the stand/base as I'll be mounting it to an arm.
I plan on picking this up when it is on sale and I was wondering if LG had a good 1080p 144hz variant to go along side it. If not, could anyone recommend me a good 1080p 144hz monitor? Budget is $500 CAD.
Are you firm on 24"?
I have a BNIB LG 27GL83A-B
Got stuck with another monitor on a newegg bundle and never used this. I would part ways with it at a loss just to be rid of it.

This is the one I have . I love it a lot. My first real, "holy fuck that's pretty" monitor.
I have a LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch monitor, and I was wondering. Do I have to do any corrections / installs / color settings I need to put in? Or always seems like there is work these kinds of monitors.
I actually tried that one but was disappointed with the colors and brightness. I ended up going with this (pretty much identical specs) instead:
Only complaints are the poor audio through the aux out (could be a fluke defect, also just irrelevant if you use headphones) and the inability to do VRR at 120hz when over HDMI. It does VRR just fine at other settings, but only does it at 120hz if it's over DP.
Love this monitor.

That’s what I have. Pretty much the same thing as you described.
Any recommendations? I'm scheming for this one now that I've got a GPU, but based only on Amazon reviews: https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/
This would be moving from a samsung 27" 60 Hz 1920x1200 LED from 10 years ago.
No way in hell lol. Before I was playing on a 60” TV! And I would only sit like 3 feet away from it. I was so afraid to switch to something 27” but it was a complete game changer. Here is a link to my monitor

Uhm. I’ve done hours upon hours upon hours of research to get my game to look this good. It could look a lot better because I have a 2K monitor but I’m only running it at 1080p for more frames. This is the monitor I have: LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_TRBZF8KPWGC30R5JA8YA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
So the thing that really made my game look great was installing the drivers for my monitor. Then I found out my monitor had software to tweak it to my liking. So I have my monitor settings tweaked. My in game settings tweaked. I also have my nvidia control panel settings tweaked. If you’d like I can take screen shots of everything and post it. I’m newish to Reddit and I know you can add pics somehow to a comment but idk how to do that. I’ve invested soooooo much time tweaking everything. Also I use the Nvidia filters as well.
Conclusion: Tweak: In game settings Monitor software Nvidia control panel Nvidia filters CoD player file on PC (for performance)
Edit: I also have an Nvidia GeForce 1660 Super 8 GB
I wanna stack monitors using a vertical mount. I currently own an LG 27GL83A-B as my main monitor. Any advice on a cheaper monitor 1440p monitor that would match well above with the LG 27GL83A-B? I would buy another but it seems overkill to spend $500CAD on a 2nd monitor.
Yeah for sure Right now amazon! ULTRA GEAR series !!!
I got mine !! so worth it at QHD or 2560x1440 ,, makes ur system work 4x as hard vs HD but the clarity is so damn good at this resolution and ur rtx will sit pretty here. The monitor itself has speakers built in, dunno why u dont have speakers but thats cool.. This is usually a 379$ monitor now its 269 limited time, I got the B edition which im not sure whats even better about it lol. It had HDR which makes colors look sweet. Im not all critical about monitors. I see these critics talkn about bleed, artifacts, color showing through monitor.. im like these fools r nuts, on a monitor theres only color quality, and . and.. size, and refresh rate, really! .. ive been gaming since nintendo and still am going strong. Let me know what you think, watch the demo video for Ultra gear, its SIC, i was blown away thinking, Is that a game?? can i buy it lol :X

i know u in uk so check uk's amazon.

I added a few details in another comment: - i checked the cables using my old monitor, worked fine - i plugged the monitor into my surface laptop as an extended screen, worked fine
Did I make a mistake by purchasing a gaming monitor?
I just grabbed the LG 27GL83A-B on sale for $299.
Then, I realized I am probably paying a premium for that 1ms response time. But... I'm not a gamer and I don't need super low latency. I am an architect, so I need good color accuracy, resolution, and I would like to experience 144hz, but I don't need 1ms, really.
$299 is the top of my budget, but is there a better choice for my needs? I'm also fine with any size from 24"-27".
I bought this in January and it's so god damn beautiful. Got a used slight steal of a free model upgrade but it has a single dead pixel in the center.
You can get it for $317 used right now, and is my personal best quality-to-cost monitor at 1440p and 144hz.

Basically I want the best bang for my buck.
Budget: $300-400
Size: 24+, 27 probably preferred.
Resolution: At least 1440.
Adaptive Sync: Running an RTX2060 laptop, so G-Sync or something that works with Nvidea.
Other Features: I'm replacing a 75hz monitor, so 120/144hz preferred.
If it helps, THIS is what I'm currently aware of and will be comparing to.
This is the one I’m looking at. What do you think? LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_88ZTF0MDP8C16WKBFKNB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This is a PC that could easily handle 1440p at 144hz for many games. I suggest this beautiful 27in monitor from LG. It has hardly any ghosting/bleeding and the viewing angles are great! Simply loved this thing for the 8 months I had it until I sold my PC. And a great deal for such quality!

You can buy it for $331 as aftermarket, which all it says is it will be repackaged.
This one's amazing and it goes on sale sometimes for $350 (lowest I've seen was $320)
You have a really good pc setup 🙂 I can and have been thinking of making 1440p switch. Your monitor is really good and has received excellent reviews on tech youtubers. If it goes on sale I would consider it or there is another alternative also LG 27 inch 1440p 144hz ips https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_i_TQZR69Y5WDXQM6B486QR?psc=1
Thank you for your input 🙂
You dont need a x570 mobo for your use case with with a zen 3 chip, the Rog B550 will work just fine. I would say you might as well go with the 5800x since you can afford it, although the performance increase won't be all that noticeable. I would also say you should go for 3600mhz ram (again since you can afford it) and there is a tangible benefit on ryzen chips vs 3200mhz. Personally I'd also go with a cheaper monitor so you could get 2 (or even 3). I have this one from LG and love it (1440p 144hz IPS).
They're not amazing for gaming, but keep an eye out for something equal or better than this guy (a reddit favorite) 1440p 144hz with Gy sync, goes on sale for $340-350 regularly
I really like my LG 28GL83A-B. 1 ms, 1440p, 144 Hz, 27". It's IPS so you don't get bad dark spots when viewed from the side and it has VESA mounts. Check out rtings website for extensive monitor reviews.
I have the sx and the monitor below. I can chose 120fps at 1080p only(maybe 720, but i never would think to remember that detail)

Looking for a deal and or a trade for my current monitor. I’m hunting for the right purchase you know.
Also the page says Gsync. I think I messed up the name in the body text, here’s the page
LG has this monitor which is pretty solid for gaming, I have 2 side by side and really love them. LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PDZ7AQ07T847XVJVMB3F
Thanks for the advice! I actually ended up going with this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_FT6YX8FN1QZTYVJ292E4. I read a bunch of reviews and it seems to be the most reasonable one in terms of performance and price. I figure that it should last me a few years, and definitely into the next GPU I get. Thanks again!
1440p/144hz is the way.

This one works.
Ok nice, look at lg ultra gears, really solid monitors I currently have one forgot which one but it’s 1080p 144hz 4ms ips and I got it for $200, and I’m currently looking at this one
https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
I know it’s not 240hz but it is a really good deal
The LG 27GL83A-B is basically the same monitor as the LG 27GN850. The major difference is the LG 27GL83A-B has a more narrow color gamut and fewer usb ports. It's also about $70 cheaper on Amazon at the moment in my region.
Hello! Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask, but I wanted the opinion of people who understand computers and their peripherals (as I am a newbie in both). Thank you so much ahead of time!
I’m currently building a PC, but money is going to be too tight to build it all within the next couple months, so instead I decided I would parse out the pieces over the next year and finish the build when I am able. This isn’t an if, it’s a when I will finish the build.
In the meantime, I want to play games on my original Xbox one (pre S or X) with mouse and keyboard, so I figured I would buy a nice monitor that can make the most out of both my console gaming (now) and PC gaming (later).
I came across this monitor a few days ago and it seems like a pretty solid deal for its specs, but I wanted to make sure it isn’t massive overkill for what I’ll be doing with it, even down the road. Monitor
For the record, I play apex legends, rainbow 6 seige, over watch and other FPS games, but have been known to enjoy the beautiful games too (Red Dead, skyrim, etc.).
Thank you all for reading and I am open to any suggestions at all!

Currently selling for $379.99. The original price of the 27GL850-B was $499.99. The 83A-B is now $120 less, depending on the current pricing of the 850-B, which I don't see on Amazon at the moment.
Does the LG27GL88A-B monitor support 1440p and 120fps through HDMI?
Heres a link to the monitor: https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=LG+27GL83A-B&qid=1610844510&sr=8-1
So I recently bought an asus monitor that said it supported 1080p 120fps and i was ok with it but then I realized it only supported those specs through a display port which my xbox series x doesn’t have.
Does anyone know if the LG27GL88A-B supports what it says through the hdmi given with the xbox series x? I really dont want to go through the trouble of finding out it’s another display port only monitor. Ive tried finding this info on google but I just cant find any answers.
Personally I use the Alienware aw3418dw, typically you go IPS, VA, TN as far as panel type quality.
If you got a 3070, you can push a 1440p monitor. Probably your best bet as far as value, would be a 27" 1440p VA panel monitor.
This seems good. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_K.raGbCMZD6VT
Which 1440p are you referring to? 1440p sounds good, and I don't really want a 32 inch anyway.
Ordered the Acer back in October and it's been doing pretty well for me. Running it at 1440 144Hz with a 2060 Super. It has Free-sync and it is G-sync compatible.
Mine has a little IPS glow, but it's not noticeable unless you look for it. Had some weird flickering at first, but it's seemed to resolve itself. Otherwise, the display and colors look great.
The stand is decent, has adjustable height and swivel. VESA mount is also a possibility.
On recommendations, the LG 27GL83A-B is a much better 1440p 144Hz monitor and is usually on sale for 380 if you're willing to wait and save up.
Check here
Ran this on a test bench setup over the summer. Damn I loved it
There is the nano-IPS version too that offers a better color representing coming in just shy of $500 (I actually was going to keep the nano IPS version but for the price I felt the Samsung G7, on sale, offered far more).
I built my current PC about 2 years ago. I recently upgraded the GPU to an RTX 3070. But I have a Ryzen 5 3600x and 16gb DDR4 RAM 3000 mhz. I have a 1440p monitor this one .
You know where this is going, I'm playing Cyberpunk. Before the 1.06 hotfix, with the Ryzen hex mod, I was easily getting 55-65 FPS and living the dream. After 1.06, no matter what I do, I'm MAYBE getting 50 in dead areas, but more like high 30's to mid 40's most of the time.
Do I: A- Just wait until the next CDPR "fix"/patch? B- Buy a new damn AMD CPU (if so, what's OK? Don't need the "best" but better then what I'm running for the money)?! C- Just get better RAM and hope that helps a bit w/a patch?
I'm patient, but I'm also a few hours into the game and don't want to wait forever. I feel like jumping into the CPU market NOW would not be great, and I'd rather save my money since my current setup runs everything else great and this is a Cyberpunk-not-being-optimized issue. Thanks for advice.
I have the LG 27” 27GL83A-B and I am in love with this monitor. It is gorgeous and seems to be highly recommended across the board.
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_fb46FbJBHK3RY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I got it in October for $380 USD, but right now the prices have absolutely skyrocketed. It’s $500 USD on Amazon right now.
Looking again at monitors it seems to be a horrible time to purchase. I think the covid crises has squeezed supply chains everywhere and component prices are absolutely outrageous and completely overpriced.
This is the monitor I got: LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_vWq6FbWJJ5YEW
I run my own server (it sits in my living room lol) so my ping is usually 8-10ms, I’ve gotten 105FPS before on this setup but yeah for official not super advantageous. I have an HDR TV but I kinda prefer the monitor because usually I’m jumping between Ark, Fortnite, and Apex Legends. And just recently I got FFXV but haven’t rly gotten into it yet (although it looks amazing with the Series X)
Anyone order anything from Amazon within the last week? I ordered a LG 27GL83A-B last week and the only shipping update I got was Shipping label created with no indication it's been picked up by Purolator yet.
LG 27GL83A-B is your best bet much cheaper and better overall performance check out the review. Ppl would suggest shop and ship if you want to buy outside the country. If you're in abu dhabi g27q and m27q monitors, call up MINDTECH COMPUTER. Their price is comparable to newegg well, i mean higher by about 100AEd but i'd take that over 500AED shipping.

I just got this one for the exact same reason as you. Photos look great and games even better!
I’m looking for a good 1440p g-sync monitor and I eventually settled on wanting to get this monitor, is this good?
Sure thing man, it's this one: The LG-27GL83A-B
You can also buy the LG-27GL850-B instead, which is basically a version with richer colors. However some people prefer the more natural colors of the 27GL83A-B. In Canada the 83A-B is the more affordable version too but in the US they both seem to have the same price so I'm not sure. Regardless their mean difference seem to be that the 850-B is more saturated. Both are great.
Yes I think the sub needs a pinned thread for monitors that work. This one works for sure with VRR off:

At $450, the 27GN850 is a better panel, essentially the venerable 27GL850 without the USB hub. Can be bought on BestBuy right now for $450.00
This monitor (which I own) is amazing for the retail value of $380. It's almost identical to the 27GL850 without DCI P3 color support, utilizing 100% sRGB instead.

NP, so people were talking about monitors on this sub - and a lot were looking at the LG 27 inch
That's my final recommendation I'd say
https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
Best price its ever seen I think. Normally its $400.
Others;
Acer Nitro XV27U (terrible stand)
Currently HDR is generally garbage on monitors unless you're willing to spend a small fortune.
I don't know your budget but I'd recommend just getting a good freesync model like the LG 27GL83A-B ($300) or the Gigabyte M27Q ($320). HDR is bad on both. You could get a bit better HDR from a VA panel but meh. Personally I think the smarter move is waiting for OLED to become more available / inexpensive.

This is over $300 but I recently just got this and love it! I did a lot of research and it had great reviews all around. Checkout hardware unboxe's channel on YT for a lot of reviews and comparisons, there may be newer ones that are better and in your price range.
I have this one and I’m really happy with it. Not sure about the US, but in Canada the stock hasn’t been great. https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
I'm glad more people were able to get it for $500. I'm very happy with it and prefer it over the LG 27GL83A-B.
Alright cool, a $350-$450 budget is right in the wheel house for a 27in 1440p 144hz IPS monitor (which IMO is the sweet spot for gaming at 1440p). I personally just picked up a Dell S2721DGF 1440p 165hz 1 ms response time IPS monitor for $420 from Microcenter (open box) and absolutely love it. ATM the only place you could purchase this monitor brand new from would be Best Buy for $500. Dell had run a few sales on this monitor a few weeks back for $430 brand new but unfortunately many of the shipment dates were delayed. I'd suggest if you have a Microcenter in your area, check their website to see if they have any open box units available as these monitors are pretty hard to come by right now.
If not, the LG 27GL83A-B is another great option for slightly less $$. 1440p 144hz 1ms response time IPS panel.

I'm doing a major upgrade on a 5 year build and I'm at the point where I think I'm just doing a clean build from scratch. I'm upgrading from 108p0 to a 1440p monitor. I just purchased this LG 27GL83A-B with the intent of playing new releases for the next few years at max or near max settings with 100+ fps, specifically Cyberpunk.
Where I'm really agonizing is over either the RTX 3070 or 3080. Originally the plan was 3070 because it fits in my budget and in theory it will be able to play Cyberpunk at high settings on 1440p. I know benchmarks and whatnot aren't out for the game, or for the new GPUs, but I've heard others say in various threads that even the 3080, which is a good 50% stronger, still might struggle on new releases at ultra settings with 144 frames.
This is my currently planned build
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/y8PJvW
I'm still waiting on the new 4000 series news from Ryzen before pulling the trigger on most parts for my build in early November. I am still wavering on what MB/CPU I'll go with depending on that news, and also depending on what GPU I ultimately grab. BUT I feel like I need to try and jump on either the 3080 or 3070 at release or they might not come back in stock in time for my November build.
So I'm looking for guidance on the best GPU for my monitor, and if I should try to get lucky and snag one at release to make my build in time. Thanks for any help! Trying to keep my budget under $1400 now that I already dropped $400 on the monitor (original budget was $1800 max, and even that was raised from my initial $1500.)

3900x+3080+32GB of ram is hefty. You want AT LEAST 1440p 144hz, maybe 4k 144hz but you said $200-$300. remember, why spend so much money on a build to not be able to display it's power? playing at 1080p would be a waste, might as well not build that type of build if you're mainly gaming. I suggest you look up if you want 1440p or 4k, however 4k is going to be more expensive obviously.
if you decide 1440p I suggest this one (around $380, sometimes less)
if you decide 4k I suggest this one, LG link (around $800)
both go in and out of stock, however they get in stock fairly often, especially the 1440p one.
Just did some quick searched, ALL of these monitors actually fall under the guidelines you are looking for.

There are still TONS of options out there that are also around this same price line, the only one i could find ANYWHERE close to your $1100 budget is an Alienware monitor, and even then, it would not have faired the same against the 3 monitors i have just sent.

Nano IPS: https://www.lg.com/us/monitors/lg-27GL850-B-gaming-monitor
Neither are on Costco.
Amazon (IPS): https://www.amazon.ca/LG-27GL850-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF?th=1
Amazon (Nano IPS): https://www.amazon.ca/LG-27GL850-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07TD94TQF?th=1
The IPS version had an all-time low on Amazon of $459.02 on July 20th. The Nano IPS only went as low as $549.99 back in January. The cheaper goes out of stock quickly when it's on sale.
I almost picked one up and stopped myself only because I didn't really need a new monitor. My 25" 1440p 60 Hz Acer IPS is good enough for now and I'd rather upgrade to 4K 144 Hz alongside a new gaming PC.
This monitor is always high in demand (sells out in a few hours once back in stock).
Lots of good reviews and it's from Amazon so you don't have to worry about dead pixels.
> And i keep looking at monitors and im having a real hard time with the thought of buying a new monitor that runs 1080P since its such an old pixel count.
It's worth noting that resolution isn't everything - your current monitor has a TN panel, poor colour reproduction, no adaptive sync and a 75Hz refresh rate. Modern monitors, while maybe still 1080p, can improve on all of these in a noticeable way. Monitors also last a long time, so even if you can't push the limits of your monitor fully right now, when you upgrade your GPU in the future, you can keep your monitor.
I'd still recommend getting a 1440p 144hz monitor, with an IPS panel if you can afford it. Freesync will drop the monitor's refresh rate if you're running an AAA title so it would be just like if you were playing on a lower refresh rate monitor, and for games where you can push 144 FPS+ (ex CS:GO), you can fully enjoy the 1440p/144hz. IPS will give you much better colour reproduction and viewing angles overall. It will cost around $500 (amazon backorder, various other options), but I believe it will be worth it in the short and long run.
LG 27GL83A currently in stock at Amazon. Mine just got delivered today. Supposedly is the same panel as the 27GL850-B, but without HDR and the USB hub.

1440p, 144hz, IPS
It doesn't have built-in speakers though
This is a great question and I'm in the same boat and have put some thought into this. I'm running a 3090ti Strix LC and recently returned a 2k 240hz MSI Monitor cause the $500 wasn't worth the difference to my old 2k 144hz LG monitor. I sit pretty close to my monitors so I think 27"-32"2k at 165hz-180hz is ideal.
Say what you will about doing the best gpu in the market justice but I'm seeing most 3090tis 12 game average benchmarks are at about 172fps at 2k and 108 at 4k. Realistically the beautiful AAA titles are gonna be around 60-90fps and who cares how good the cartoons look in the competitive 300+fps games right?

Incredibly solid and meets the specs.
Assuming that you mean 1440p, Hardware Unboxed recommends this monitor for $300
This is more of a productivity monitor than a gaming monitor.
It's 75 hz, but these have fantastic color calibration out-of-the-box. It's 350 nit, which is a bit on the lower end of brightness, but acceptable. The stand is a bit worthless - but it should be a reliable, beautiful productivity monitor.
Other gaming options would be the Acer Nitro xz272u - it comes in a 170 hz, 165 hz, and 144 hz variety. I haven't used the 170 hz, but 165 and 144 are great. The 144 was a bit dim and the 165 was a bit brighter. Both have fantastic color calibration out of box (equivalent to the Dell) and are shockingly good monitors for the price: eg, stand is stable and better than the other options in this price range, and its USB hub and auto-input switching are quality. (These can be had for ~$220-$250 if you're patient). My real complaint about this is build quality on the panel and buttons - it feels a little cheap, but honestly I've had them in servce for 6+ years and it's held up ok. This would be my budget suggestion.
The LG 27GL83A-B for $300 is a great option. Good build quality, great panel and color, but limited to 144 hz. Also a bit more expensive than the other options. If you're a low-sense gamer, you need a different stand because the feet get in the way here. Otherwise, the design is solid: stand is sturdy, panel is good build quality, buttons are pretty good (but wear out quickly). This would be my 'slightly higher budget' suggestion.
The TUF Gaming VG27Q is another competitor. Bit more expensive, but should be a nicer monitor on paper. The panel is nice, but only has acceptable calibration out-of-box. These have fewer backlight problems than the Nitro. Panel build quality is higher, but comes with a stupid button interface (they are left-right chevrons that overlap). Also don't like the USB hub as much. My version of this also had intermittent black screens (the monitor would restart). It was software-driven: going to the Gulag in Warzone would trigger it. These are occasionally as cheap as $270 but are sitting at about $320 right now. I wouldn't recommend this if you can purchase either the Acer or LG above.
Just a quick search for "1440p 144hz monitors" fielded this: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-tuf-vg27aq1a-widescreen-gaming-lcd-monitor-black-black/6454341.p?skuId=6454341

The LG 27GL83A-B is currently at an all-time low on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF
OK this answer heavily depends on a few factors:
- How much space does he have?
- I assume it's his primary and only monitor?
- Will he be gaming?
$300 can potentially buy you a lot of monitor depending on the case. For example, if he's gaming and his card can drive a 1440p monitor, this is a good one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If he's just doing office work, I still recommend 27" 1440p but you can shave money on refresh rate. Trust me, the resolution is sooo nice for word docs, spreadsheets, or BI tools like Tableau and Alteryx.
Regardless of what you choose, I absolutely recommend something that still has a 100x100mm VESA mount. It's a common feature, but that's a corner you should never cut.
Yah I agree. This seems to be the go-to: https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/

Congratulations one what will be a shocking upgrade no doubt. I too have a 3080ti and I think you will find the 3080ti to be an excellent 4K capable card and your monitor will scale nicely through the next gen GPU's so consider it all a worthwhile, long term investment.
If you have the desktop space for it and since quality 27" 1440p monitors are now widely available? Get a second, 1440p to run right next to your new 27" 4K panel. If a certain game doesn't hit your magic FPS number on the 4K? Simply switch over to the 1440p for a solid 20+ gain in frames.
I mostly game on an Alienware 38" ultrawide monitor (3840x1600) which is about 18% less pixels than 4K and it is certainly harder to drive than a 1440p monitor. That said, I keep a 27" 1440p <strong>mounted next to the AW38"</strong> but have only used it for watching the news, secondary web browsing, image editing, etc. The 3080ti handles the 38" Ultrawide just fine for me. After in game tweaking, I generally stay in the 85FPS to 144+ FPS range in everything.
But I think you'll find the 4K panel to be just fine, especially if it's G Sync or G Sync Compatible monitor.
I have a 4K LG C1 OLED which I occasionally game on as well and it's excellent, easily maintaining 75fps to 100+ fps in all major titles like Horizon Zero Dawn, CP2077, Metro Exodus, Kena, Fenyx Rising, etc. And it's strictly a matter of personal preference but I'm one to always disable certain graphic options which I find useless and non important to the overall gaming experience ... motion blur, hair works, etc. ... I find these pointless frame wasters.
Another thing I generally disable is ray tracing. It's neato tech and fun to play with but doesn't nearly contribute enough to the experience to warrant it's massive toll on frames per second. I think it's important tech, especially for game developers but for end users/gamers? It's just not that big of a deal. DLSS is great, though and can really help performance wise while maintaining great fidelity.
Enjoy the rig ... and like I mentioned, check out some cheaper 27" 1440p panels to run dual with your new 27" 4K. The Ultragear 27" is quite affordable these days and is great but there are more affordable options.
Best,
~s1rrah

LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor amazon 304 $, 1440p, 144hz
I bought this LG monitor back in April and could not be happier! It's not the best LG 27" but...very nice for the price at the time I bought. it's a 1ms G-SYNC 1440 144mhz monitor that works great with my 2060 super card. I play GTA and fortnite as well, with no issues and last nite I was playing fortnite at 240fps all night. I have a Ryzen 3600x and I also run a 2nd monitor off the GPU while gaming. I'd say go 1440p your 3060 should be able to take it!

5600X is a great all around CPU, you won't go wrong at all gaming there.
For monitors the main two I would recommend are the LGs. 1440p is a bit expensive I'd look in the $350-450 range. Second is newer and has faster pixel refresh, otherwise similar.

hoped for a good deal on Dell/LG because of bad experience with dead pixels on almost every other brand.

But the thing kinda worrying me is the gl being some massive downgrade over the gp, so hoping someone settles that for me.

The LG 27GL83A-B 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor (IPS) is pretty darn good. $500. Been using it with my new build that I did last December alongside my 3080 and have had 0 issues so far. I think I got it when it was on sale for $450. On CamelCamelCamel all time low was $400. $500 is a decent price though. Anyways, link here. I've also got a Dell S2721DGF 27.0" 2560x1440 165 Hz Monitor, which I think I prefer, but off sale it's (much) more expensive. I haven't been in the scene since last December, so there might be a newer better monitor out there. Hopefully another user can comment if so.

Which is a better monitor, this or LG 27GL83A-B 27?
Gotcha. I personally use an LG Ultragear and I love it. I specifically chose this monitor because it has 2k resolution, 144 Hz refresh, 1ms response, G-sync, and excellent picture quality.
However, it might be too much for your needs. That monitor would be hard to drive AAA games on with a 3060Ti, especially if you have two of them. Additionally, if you are streaming, it's unlikely you'll need anything above 1080p / 60 Hz. In that case, Acer makes pretty good entry level gaming monitors like the Acer Nitro.
I'd encourage you to do some shopping around to see what you can get in different price ranges. When you're shopping for monitors, it's helpful to know what is most important to you (resolution? picture quality? refresh rate?) and then set up a filter based on that.
Try getting the LG 27GL83A-B from Amazon Warehouse for $217 used. The Warehouse monitors are almost always in great condition, and easily returnable if they aren't

Looks like there is a used one for about $300 if you want to try that.
I bought the LG 27GL83A-B a few months back which I like a lot and haven't had an issues. It's basically the same as the LG 27GL850 without the extra USB ports and wide color gamut (which you don't need for gaming). There's also the LG 27GN800-B 27 and from what I can tell, it's essentially the same as the first monitor but just has a cheaper stand with less features. The second monitor I mentioned just got a refresh (LG 27GL850-B) and can do 180 hertz refresh rate in overdrive. All of these monitors are 27 inch, 1440p/144hz+.
These may be a little outside your price range but they frequently go on sale. You may have some credit card points or gift cards lying around as well. I'd recommend also taking a look at Hardware Unboxed and Rtings as they both have really good, in depth monitor reviews.

I'd say check this out, but I don't know what prices are in CA. From what I've heard, this is pretty good.
Thank you! I just bought this.

I am looking at these two monitors from LG, and I can't decide whether I want a 4k 60hz or 1440p 144hz (both 27").
Higher Refresh Rate, 1440p: https://www.amazon.ca/LG-27GL850-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF?th=1
Lower Refresh Rate, 4k: https://www.amazon.ca/LG-27UL500-W-27-Inch-Freesync-Technology/dp/B07PGL2WVS/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=LG%2B27%E2%80%9D%2BClass%2BIPS%2BHDR%2BUHD%2B4K&qid=1619638946&s=electronics&sr=1-5&th=1
I am wondering which one I would benefit the most from under these parameters:
- My computer isn't all too powerful, I got it about 3yrs ago and it has a GTX 1050 2GB and an 8th Gen Core i5 8400. However, I will probably get a new one in the next few years.
- I sit about 25" away from my monitor (which is currently a 1080p 24")
- I like video editing, and I'm wondering if a 4k monitor could help with that in the future.
- I also like gaming, but I don't think I will be able to get a lot of use out of a high refresh rate monitor because of my computer. Granted, I wouldn't be able to run in 4k either but at least I could play 1080p with it being scaled improperly.
Considering all of this, which one should I get?
Its the M1 model. The monitors are LG 27GL83A: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_K9DT1RK0D9R6MPJ7S4WH
It looks like the -B is the newer version and costs more. So I think it would be this,
This should be a bit better than the G27Q I recommended. It is an excellent choice if you think all/most gaming will be on the 1440p.

What a low key fantastic comment man thank you for taking the time to write that out. What are your thoughts on comparing that panel with https://www.benq.com/en-us/monitor/gaming/ex2780q.html and
The best experience is with the G-sync module that do the full range 1-240Hz or whatever. But the module mainly matters below 48Hz and you won't really see that with your build (except maybe Cyberpunk on Ultra, not sure).
Most of the time you will be well above 48Hz and FreeSync (aka G-Sync Compatible) will be no issue. It's what I use an works awesome. I'd recommend monitors such as the ones I'll link below for the best value, IPS, 48-144+Hz, G-sync compatible, top tier pixel response time of 3-5ms, top tier input latency of around 5ms, etc.

Hopefully you can clear up some confusion about 1 more thing.
Here is a link to a monitor I've been looking at and it's description is quite confusing: https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=sr_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=1440p+curved+monitor+27&qid=1615928308&sr=8-14

It says that it is an IPS monitor in the about this item section:
It also says this item has a LED display. I thought that IPS monitors only worked with LCD displays. Also you were saying that curved monitors only have IPS displays on UltraWide monitors that are 34" or larger but this one is only 27".
I just purchased this LG ultra gear monitor for $400 from bestbuy. Did loads of research. There are faster (dell @165hz and brighter options out there, the gL850 (previous years model) compared to the gN850 linked has a usb hub built in if you need but that will set you back $50.
For $400 this is the Best Buy in my opinion - 10bit panel with impressive coverage of sRGB and I think like 80+% coverage of Adobe RGB ? You’ll get amazing colors on a IPS panel with a great ppi ratio and very fast refresh along with very low input lag and pixel response times. Honestly idk what else you’d need. Only setback I could spot was the low contrast ratio - rated 1000:1 but in practice more like 850:1 - this will only present if you’re watching content in a dark room and for me I’ve made an effort to backlight my displays/room to reduce eye strain so this hopefully won’t be a real drawback. I can post a follow up when I pick it up this weekend but I was in your same boat and did extensive research. It’s not the BEST panel out there but for the price it’s extremely hard to justify anything else. Gl with search !

Does anyone have a personal comparison between these two monitors? https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824012015 (GIGABYTE G27Q 27") and https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF (LG 27GL83A-B)
I've been reading around and it seems the LG one is the most popular on reddit, but after a bit of reading the G27Q is no slouch either, but for 280 dollars for the G27Q vs the 380 for the LG one, I'm not sure if the 100 dollars extra is worth it for the LG one. I was also looking at old info though and 280 for the G27Q seems to be very recent. I'm wondering which one is more worth it for the price (or if it is worth the extra 100 for the LG one), thanks.
Not on sale but LG 27GL83A-B is in stock on Amazon https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/
Haven't seen it in stock too often
So I'm looking to get a 144hz 1440p monitor and I think I have it narrowed down to the LG 27GL83A-B or the LG 27GN800-B. As far as I can see these are both 144hz, 1440p monitors with Gsync, but the GN800 has HDR10 (not sure what this is), is a bit cheaper (on sale right now), and is a new model. Is this a no brainer to get the GN800 vs the L83A?
$360 MSI MAG274QRF
$320 GIGABYTE M27Q
$380 LG 27GL83A-B
$345 LG 27800-B
I've narrowed down the few monitors that I'm trying to buy but cannot make a choice to save my life. They're all fairly equivalent in both cost and function. The LGs have a lower frame rate from 144hz to 165/170hz; spitting distance.
Primary use is gaming with my new PC and 2070 Super. I'm very much overpowering my current 1080p 60Hz monitors. I play Overwatch, No Man's Sky, Battlefield 1, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Bioshock as of recent. I think dark levels are important to me in terms of immersion, but that's an educated guess at best.
I saw on Amazon that the LG 27800-B was on sale, and cheaper than the 27GL83A. The only discernable difference I could find was that the latter has HDR10. I can't find a clear definition of what that means and more importantly if pertinent to my needs.
As for the MAG274QRF, I know there is a QD model, but it is far more expensive and the only cost that I could stretch to justify ($420 on newegg right now) is out of stock.
Please help me make a decision before my head explodes <3
This is on sale at Amazon and has good reviews
Hi! Looking for a second monitor. My biggest concern is that the brightness of my second monitor matches my main(LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor).
I definitely want the second monitor to be cheaper and can be 1080p. It's mostly going to be for docs/discord and such nothing fancy.
Would this be a good second monitor? Will it match the brightness? Or can I go even cheaper?
Thank you for helping! If there's crucial info I'm missing just say. I don't know much what I'm talking about.

Need help finding new monitor. I have about $360 amazon credit. So anything in that price range would be ideal. I already have 2x AOC C245G1 24in curved monitors as a dual setup, but im looking to add a third monitor. Maybe a 27 in or 32 in monitor that I can desk mount on the top of the 2 other monitors.
Ive looked for some options already which are:
I do occasional gaming and stream movies so which of these is the best overall option? My 2 AOC monitors are VA panels but should I go with IPS or VA? I hear that IPS is superior.
If you have any other recommendations please let me know. Im mostly looking for anything around 27", 1440p, 144hz+. For light/med gaming and streaming. I would really appreciate some discussions.
I've checked both monitors, as they are pretty good. And I want to say thanks first. I don't get more than 250 FPS in Valorant, CS:GO etc. so 240Hz would be enough for me. LG would be a good decision, but I am not sure if my can system handle 1440p (RTX 2060 + i5-9400F). Resolution is not a big thing for me, I would still play on 720p. When you curve a monitor, I think that wouldn't be a huge loss. LG monitor is pretty good, but could it be compared with Monster Aryond A27 V1.1 (i am sorry the website is Turkish for now) including price? As there is a huge price difference (because of tax rules in my country).
So, what do you think about Monser Aryond A27 V1.1? Could it be compared with LG 27GL83A-B? Because there is extra prices when I try to buy LG.
I run this! Nice bright ips screen and fast response/refresh times. Also if you don't love it, you can return it super easy.
Alright this is a weird request:
Looking to upgrade my second monitor.
I already own them both but haven't unboxed them yet.
My main is a LG 27GL83A-B and I'd like your opinion on which one to keep

My suggestion for your budget would be the LG27GL83A-B, as it performs almost exactly the LG27GL850-B, but doesn't have USB ports. Both are good for gaming, and are pretty well suited to your system.
I have a question too, are you buying this prebuilt?

Alright boys and gals.... it's time.
It's time to bid my Asus VG248QE into the second monitor zone - 7 years of fun and I didn't pay for the monitor cause I won it at a counter-strike LAN way back in the day.
I want to upgrade to a 1440p @ 144hz monitor and after pouring quite literally hours through reddit, rtings.com, and TFT I've finally narrowed it down to two yet I'm still undecided so I come to reddit to get some pros/cons if possible.
FYI: I'm currently running a 1070 Ti but I have been trying to get a 3070 or 3080, but we all know how that's been going lately.
Main uses: FPS, **CYBERPUNK 2077**, Tekken, and possibly some League of Legends (If this seasons items don't make me smash my keyboard) but I digress.
Monitors in contention are:
LG 27GL83A-B -
Lenovo Y27Q-20
ALSO - Please feel free to recommend other monitors as well just so IF these don't work out I can start back at square one :(
Thanks for any and all help ahead of time!

IS anyone expecting the LG 27GL83A-B or an equivalent to go on sale? I'm thinking maybe if I stare at the Amazon page long enough the price will drop.
I am considering VESA mount for my two 27 inch monitors to free up some desk space. I haven no real experience with these, seems reasonable enough, but I have seen both standing options and clamp style. Is there any reputable mount that would support two 27 inch monitors? I just find it hard to imagine one stand holding both monitors up without being clamped down or something, they are pretty big.
For reference, these are my monitors:

Other Features: 144hz, 1ms, IPS
Usage Type: FPS Gaming
As it seems everyone is these days, I'm in the market for a new monitor. I am currently running a VG240Y on a 1080ti/i9 9900k, but am hoping to both upgrade to either a 6800xt or 3080 soon, along with running a PS5 off the same monitor. I've narrowed it down to either the 27GL83A-B, the S2721DGF, or the XV272U. All are 1440p, 144hz, 1ms response and IPS.
However, I've heard conflicting things about the PS5 being able to downscale the 4k to 1440p, and that with some monitors it will only output 1080p instead of the 1440p I've been hoping for. Is this the case with any of these monitors? Is there a discernable difference between the panels?
I would not recommend that monitor for the price. The S2417DG is a few years old now and is a TN panel. For that price (or less), you could get a newer 27in 1440p 144hz IPS panel monitor. The LG 27GL83A-B would be a nice choice for the price:

LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I was just about to mention this for $379 on amazon. They look essentially the same to me. Keep in mind I am still a noobie, if there is a notable difference please lmk :)
Oh, this is easy. You can get what you need for that or less, surely. For $300-400 you can get a 27" IPS 1440p/144Hz display with adaptive refresh technology and 1ms response like this one.
What about something like this one? LG 27GL83A-B. 1440p144hz with G-Sync if he wants to play any games. It's 379.99 right now. Otherwise, I think that Proart monitor I mentioned earlier might be great bang of the buck.
I need a monitor for video/photo editing and some gaming. I've pretty much narrowed it down to these two monitors: LG 27GL83A-B ($380) and ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD ($300). The LG monitor seems perfect for my use and has two notable advantages over the ViewSonic monitor: 10bit color (vs. 8bit+FRC) and HDR (vs. no HDR). I'm just wondering if the $80 difference is worth it for these advantages. Will the color depth and HDR differences be definitely noticeable? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Curious what you think of this: Link

Ah ok I was just wondering.
I’ve been pondering at this monitor for awhile is this one good? https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1H36W35YLJ7WP&dchild=1&keywords=4k+144hz+monitor&qid=1603245826&sprefix=4k+144%2Caps%2C209&sr=8-4

Probably going with a 1080p 1ms 144 hz monitor

all i did was be nice and be paniced that it was a gift. i said i was willing to get a smaller monitor with better stats
Is this a good one? It looks like it has what I need.

Hello looking to buy a monitor now for when i build my new pc I'm trying to decide between these 3 can anyone give me advice which one to pick and what the differences between them are I don't know much about monitors https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
https://www.amazon.com/Pixio-Display-FreeSync-Esports-Monitor/dp/B08FXZVJH6
https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX2758-2KP-MHD-Frameless-FreeSync-DisplayPort/dp/B07VJJXDBX
These are the 3 I'm looking at I will be using this with a 3070 once i can buy one when they get in stock again. I just want to know which one of these you guys would recommend. also should I wait for black friday/cybermonday? if they will get like instantly sold out the second they go on sale I don't know if I would want to do that then. and even if there is a sale I'm assuming it will not go much lower so i'll probably just buy it now just start getting my parts.
I'm leaning towards the viewsonic because it's the cheapest and I don't see any negatives not to if there is any let me know. looking at rtings it seems that the lg has the best response time but I don't know how much that would matter in actual use and don't really understand why it's response time is better when all of them are 1ms and 144hz+ is there any effective difference?
My monitor is only certified as G-Sync compatible, but works absolutely fine with my Vega 64.
https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=lg+144hz+ips&qid=1604124464&sr=8-2 In that case I recommend this, it's a bit pricey but you can't find anything nearly as competent for cheaper. It'd be perfect especially if you intend on moving to the Xbox series x. You don't need 240hz or anything since the series x can't push that. You will find that it has normal ips levels of backlight bleed but, like I've said, kind of unavoidable until you get to the high end range.
It's this one. I believe it only went on sale once ever at 320(?), not sure. It always sits at 380, and is always OOO or marked up by third party sellers.
$379 Don’t go bigger than 27” for 1440p. The PPI gets bad.
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_PabNFbZ0G69D4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Highly recommend the LG 27GL83A. It is an 27" IPS panel w/ HDR, 144Hz refresh and 1ms response. HDR is pretty weak, but it does have it, something you cannot get normally at this price point. I've been using mine for about 2 months and have zero complaints.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_MAaNFbHS1SEM7?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Price seems to check out alright when I part it out. Good parts for a high end 1440p setup. The only thing I don't like is the monitor. it's not Gsync compatible so you may have issues with variable refresh which in my opinion will kill the experience. This is a sweet system, I'd return the monitor and get a monitor that'll give you silky smooth video like this or this
Some favorites picked out by me bang for your buck list. thoughts? I have decided it's best to hold my credit card until black friday but those who are curious this is a decent list by my books. Good luck homies. Please pick out anything that looks shit that would be nice since I'm new to this, but by my understanding this is good.

Seeing as you don't play any graphic intensive games, with a 1440p monitor you'd barely notice a performance hit.
And I recommend this one to everyone, I got it for 320 on black friday so I could see that deal popping up again https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
Curved screen or no?
Also varies based on whether you need freesync or gsync.
Amazon (USA)
Sorry, $380 from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00
It's not a $500 monitor. It's $380 on amazon. For comparison, the Acer VG271UP and the Dell S2719DGF that can be found in Europe for ~350€ are $390 and $340 respectively. So the LG is definitely in the same price range, it will just take a month for the price to normalize once it more broadly enters the EU market. I can't even find it anywhere in my country yet.
I'm looking at the LG 27GL83A-B, the little brother of the 27GL850 that LTT reviewed a while back. On Amazon in the states for $380 (if that's around your price point, but I'm guessing a bit much). It is, however, IPS and G-sync compatible. I haven't gotten it yet so I can't officially testify on its behalf. Link . Also just read this thread.
I've owned this monitor and it is easily the best looking TN panel I've had once you tweak the colors a bit. It is worth noting that LG has one of their 1ms IPS panel monitors for 30 dollars more than this on Amazon. Haven't tried it or looked into it much but 30 dollars more for an IPS panel is definitely noteworthy. Probably the biggest difference between the two is the Dell has a G sync module and the LG is G sync compatible meaning no G sync module BUT if you have a 10 or 20 series card you can still take advantage of the adaptive sync.

Is that the same as the GL83A-B? That's the only one that comes up on amazon when searching.
Also, any suggestions on getting notified when it's up? I need to go to bed...
You can get the non-nano version for 392USD (520$cad) all-in from amazon US shipped to canada. The import fees are included too.
27" LG UltraGear 27GL83A-B QHD G-Sync Gaming Monitor https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/
Seems to be comparable. Same pannel. The «nano» is a coating on the led backlight that allow for more colourspace but it's already way better than mos other monitors and the motion is probably more important if you use this for gaming… also mising usb3 hub and rgb rear glow.

Hello all,
I'm seeking guidance for my monitor after lurking for a few months and finally pulling the trigger and building my first PC. I bought the LG 27GL83A-B from amazon for $468. However, since it wasn't going to be shipping anytime soon (between January 8th and 22), I bought the Acer Nitro XV272U that was on sale at Canada Computers on boxing day for $385.
After 1 day, the Acer was giving me lots of flickering issues. After tons of testing to see how my system and GPU were performing, MSI RX 5700XT Gaming X, by day 4 the flickering dissapeared and I wasn't sure why and I wasn't sure if it would return. Now, I can make the screen flicker at will by using MSI Dragon Center and setting the user scenario to Extreme Performance. Flickering starts immediately and goes away immediately when I change the setting to anything else.
After 3 days of using the monitor, is it safe to say that I won't have any more flickering issues? Should I go ahead and cancel the amazon order for the LG monitor? Is there any value to get CC's warranty plan which is about 15% of the price of the monitor for 2 years? I'd like to cancel the order soon if I can so that the refund is processed on my credit card before my next statement date which is soon.
I appreciate the responses in advance!
Is go with the 27GL83A it's gsync compatible and 144hz refresh rate 1440p. Gonna be hard, too find a decent 4k gaming monitor at that price though.
Not sure how covid is affecting black friday this year but last year I was able to get this monitor for $320, wouldn't trade it for anything, it's been amazing so far. I had to look all over to even find out about the deal, so keep an eye out

I have 3x LG 27GL83A-B monitors, the supplied DC power cable is incredibly short and the plug that goes into the wall is incredibly bulky and blocks other outlets on my UPS. Would a long (possibly with an extender) USB-DC cable, plugged into my computer, supply enough power to the monitors?
BenQ EX2780Q $450 + taxes is a great monitor.

LG 27GL83A-B a little more so too much. but 479 plus taxes. But super fast response.

Both are 1440p, freesync premium and still plays nice with gsync on your PC if you need it. Both will take 144hz 1440p via hdmi 2.0. And both have nice IPS screens (but come with ips glow, which some dont want.

HDR is not something to care about at this price point. HDR400 on a monitor is nothing special, and you probably wont even turn it on. The benq mentioned above has it. But there is no local dimming, so it just kind of changes the color.

There are other options, but imo those are really good monitors in that price point.
LG 27GL83A-B is probably one of the best 1440p 144hz you can buy but why no sync if the ps5 supports freesync? this monitor has it btw via HDMI (which is what you would need for consoles) but the bigger problem is that we don't know for certain the ps5 supports 1440p. The xbox one x was able to output 1440p signal but the ps4 pro wasn't. Series X/S confirm 1440p but I don't think there's been an official statement from sony saying 1440p will work on the ps5

The LG 27GL83A is the way to go for a 27in 1440p 144hz IPS panel. It came out a few months ago and was constantly sold out. Stock is finally staying for consistent though it still goes out of stock every week or so.
This is the monitor that I got. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This LG 27GL83A-B is really solid for gaming, and under $400.

Ended up sticking to 16:9, I didn’t want to increase my budget for an ultra wide that worked with gsync (would be like $900).
Agreed, 144hz is more important to me than 4K. I went with the 144hz 1440p IPS LG monitor when it was on sale for $320 last November. I'm really happy with it, but I'm not sure if you can find it in stock, let alone for that price. I've heard the Dell equivalent is very good too, but more expensive.

I would get 27” 1440p 144hz ips monitor. High refresh rate for fps games and enable freesync/gsync for AAA games
This LG monitor is a great 1440p 144hz monitor. I have it as my primary monitor and it's a great monitor.
I'm assuming the answer is yes but I'd rather be safe before doing anything.
I have an LG 27GL83A
It's VESA compatible and I plan to do that. It has screws already inside where the mount should go. I'm assuming I unscrew them and then screw them in with the vesa mount in place?
thoughts on this monitor?

Does anyone have a monitor recommendation to pair with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ ?
getting another one is pretty expensive.
I've never used the LG, but it is widely regarded as the best 1440p 144hz bang for buck monitor out there. The little Acer is what I use for my secondary monitor in portrait orientation. At 21.5", 1080p looks almost as sharp as 1440p and being IPS has great viewing angles for discord, music, youtube etc.
I am very seriously looking at the LG 27GL83A-B for my next monitor when I can budget for it in the next few months.
I would be upgrading from a Dell Ultrasharp U2515H which has been phenomenal for my work involving graphic design and photo/video editing but just ok for gaming.
My questions are these:
If you're not planning on upgrading your gpu, you'll need to stay in the 27" 1080p, 144hz ish range.
The jump from 1920x1080 to 2560x1440 is massive in terms of pixels / computing power required.
Id either recommend this if you're looking for the best 27" you can get at 2560x1440, or this for the 1080p 240hz variant.
Bro trust me when I say this get the LG 27GL83AB. It’s one of the best if not the best 1400p monitor 144hz for $380 IPs display
I think someone else mentioned the LG 27GL83A-B. I got one and am extremely happy with it. I've been considering getting a second one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_P9uJ2N5pZ2g8u
I'm looking to buy a good 1440p monitor this Prime Day or Black Friday. I've had my eye on the LG 27GL83A (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_gMAGFb8B37JDR) but it seems to never be in stock.
Can anyone recommend some alternatives that have similar specs and price? It can be either 27 or 32 inch I would go for either.
Thanks!
I love mine, got it for black friday last year for $320 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdb_btf_t1_mwpGFbYQJKEE7
I have owned a 27" 1080p panel and they are pretty pixelated unless you are far away. 24" seems to be the max for 1080p with good pixel density. The Dell is a TN panel which you should avoid, the Acer is an IPS so it's going to look fantastic.
This is what I would go with in that price range if I were to ever go back to 16/9 aspect ratio.
What sort of budget are you thinking for the monitor? I would suggest the LG 27GL83A-B. It's what I am planning on getting with very similar specs to you, although good luck to both of us on getting that 3070 FE.
Edit: Could save ~$100 or more on other fine monitors if you went without the NVIDIA G-Sync.
Sorry that was lazy, it's the subreddit special. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_lr4EFb5J478QY
I recommend this one because I myself own it and it’s a really nice screen
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rCEEFbMCJAYPW
I have the 1440p micro-LED version (GL850B) and it's an awesome monitor. From what i've read that one is basically the same.
27GL83Ais the 1440p version (no micro LED so it's $380) i think would be an incredible buy if you can stretch another $80 but the 1080p one linked above should be fine if you cannot power a higher resolution
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KTPGBZ Pretty much maxed out build, plenty of RGB. For monitors, this one https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF is supposed to be great
Alright, I'm going to do you a solid and reveal what I'm going to get and what I think is the best cross section of affordable, sync, great picture quality, input lag, and reliability despite having more competition for it to go out of stock again.
Here's a solid review comparing it to others in it's class. One other thing, the Nano upgrade is like 2-3% more color gamut, if $100 more is worth it to you.
In that case, the LG 27GL83A-B should be great. It is 380 USD and an IPS panel so you can get good color accuracy to go along with the 1440p resolution. There is also what LG brands as a "nano-IPS" display for around 465 USD. I don't think it is necessary though, a regular IPS panel should be fine.
Hi, I'd go with the LG 27GL83A-B. It is one of the most popular 1440p 144Hz monitors at this price point. It is G-SYNC compatible and IPS.
LG 27GL83A-B Got one for myself, bought another for the wife after I realized how great it is
I personally use the LG Ultragear 27” 1440p 144hz.
Bought two for myself, then my wife wanted them, and then I gave two more as gifts to family members. Very happy with them, #1 rated 1440p of 2019. Usually for sale at $380 so not a bad price for 1440p 144hz IPS.
Only downside is that the stand takes up a lot of desk space because of the triangle design.
They’re out of stock currently (as usual because of the popularity) but they come back in a few times a week usually.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zJmzFbAV8KX49
Take 27GL83A-B, it's basically a 27GL850 without wide color gammut.
S2719DGF is a TN panel, I believe people recommended you S2721DGF, if so go S2721DGF.
IPS seems like it is better. I think if I am spending upwards of $600 on a monitor I will go with IPS. Comes down to the ASUS 1440p vg27aq or the LG 27GL83A

OR any other monitors you know of
Just gotta wait for a sale or something. Not in a particular rush as the Series X comes out on the 10th of november
Looking for a monitor for the new xbox series x. 24-27 inch, 1440p, 1ms, HDMI 2.0

Found these two, any other recommendations?

Which of these to buy?
The best I've found so far is only 1440p, but it's an 144Hz, IPS, G-Sync Compatible display. Link
Not $350, but this is $380 and is what I use
looks fine, this is also a good option https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=lg+144hz&qid=1599920055&sr=8-1
I've heard really good things about the LG-27GL83A ($380) and the LG-27GL850 ($490). The GL850 is like $100 more but has better colours/contrast with.. nano IPS (whatever that is lol).
I think the problem with ultrawide 1440p is that the pixel density isn't great so it won't be as sharp as 1440p 27". I think the pixel density on a 34" UW 1440p monitor is the same as a 27" 1080p monitor. Ultrawide is more immersive but you may want 4k to get the pixel density upgrade when going ultrawide.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_mcaxFbV1CADQF
When this is in stock it’s $380, was the #1 rated 1440p of 2019, I own and use them personally with no complaints other than the amount of space the stand requires
Need advice on a 1440p/144hz monitor. I'm building around either a 3070 (likely) or a 3080 (if I can save a little more). I want to play new games like Cyberpunk at high settings. This monitor is right in my price point and has features that I want. 27", G-Sync, IPS. I had some friends try to convince me to go curved and ultra-wide, but I'm trying to keep the monitor under $500.
<strong>This is my currently planned build with a monitor someone else suggested.</strong>
<strong>Here is the monitor I'm now considering; I see it recommended a lot</strong>
I guess I'm just looking for any feedback on pros, cons, little bits of advice to consider. I don't need to start building until November, but it looks like the LG I'm considering is at an all-time low.
My first choice
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_EImvFbJ3KTGCW
My 2nd choice
Now I have a old benQ 60hz monitor and looking to upgrade after almost a decade. Which would be the better choice?
I don't know anything about monitors, but I will be doing a good amount of gaming on it.
Not the same monitor, but I recommend the LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF
Fantastic monitor, HDR, G-Sync, great colors, and no stupid curve. I’ve been very pleased.
TN is outdated. Get the LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_P3cwFbYKTVCNZ. LG did a wonderful job getting this IPS panel to display at an uninhibited 1ms (GTG) thanks to advances in their nanocell technology. TN panels are just not good anymore.
Edit: I will say, however, TN panels are still best at high Hz.
Ok, quick question. There are two models and I CANNOT seem to find the difference. Here is one for $380:
https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL850-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF?th=1
Is this the one you mean? There is another for $499 but it seems to be the same
EDIT: I'm seeing it says "NANO" IPS and I'm assuming that's it
You are very welcome! Definitely keep r/buildapcsales on your watch list. Helped me get my monitor. Got it for $320, was a massive upgrade from my old 24" 1080p 60hz Dell monitor. https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
Had this one for almost a year now and it's still pretty amazing

Best 1440p 144hz IPS monitor under $500 on the market imo. Its got a 1ms response time, legit G-sync, 1440p resolution, 144hz refresh rate(165hz overclocked but you'll lose G-Sync support), HDR 400 certified and all on a BEAUTIFUL IPS panel that delivers amazing colors and deep blacks. Price is around $380 if you can find it in stock anywhere. I got mine on sale a few months ago though for $340 but even at $400 its still the best price/performance monitor on the market in my opinion. Hope this helps you narrow your search.
Important differentiating features within the same type of monitor are gtg speed, overshoot error, contrast ratio, and color coverage. You'll only find the first 2 stats in technical reviews.
The GL83a is top tier in all those categories except contrast, where it is mediocre. However it's only $380 which makes it far cheaper than every other 1440p IPS of a similar quality (which also have their own flaws).
Another good option is the S2721dgf when it goes on sale, however it'll incorrectly display (oversaturate) sRGB content (most things) since it's a wide color gamut monitor that lacks an sRGB emulation mode.
I’d say get a 1440p 144hz monitor. I ordered one, the cheapest high quality monitor of these specs I could find here and it’s right around your price point. I just got it today and excited to try it out
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OSgpFb8J61C2F
Is this a cheap monitor ?
If you want a 1080p 144hz monitor here’s a link. I used this one for a year and it’s pretty solid.
If you want a 1440p 144hz here’s another link.
The 1440p one is usually sold out so you’d have to keep an eye on when it’s in stock. Just don’t buy it for more than $390 cause that’s the usual price.
> GN850 Thank you for that. But, isn't it avaible right here? I assume that I'm wrong but I wanna know why I am. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF?tag=price145310f-20&ascsubtag=wtbs_5f3b5a26a5fac0f93ce84b18.
When this guy is in stock it's a shoe-in at that price point, but your choice is also good.
thank you!! I was looking at a few of these, the pricing starts to confuse me. I was interested in the LG panels LG 27GL83A-B. I came across a few forum posts questioning the gn850 vs gl83a but it was more of spreadsheet debates to specs beyond my understanding.
I just don't think I can get by without using the strobing/ulmb.
Would any of these you listed hold up to the predator xb271hu or is everything going to be similar if not worse? Granted I paid a higher price when it released there wasn't much choices. These $800 4k IPS 144hz are honestly so tempting!!
I'm going to read more into the ones you listed and dig around on the forums.
For that much, you could get one of these LG IPS monitors that is reviewed very well
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jvilFbNFVRNJA
You have a 2070 super right? Depending on what your looking to spend 1440p might be the way to go and getting something like the LG 27GL83A would be a huge upgrade.
I’m new to pc building and I’m wondering : Will I be able to build a pc with a 2080 super and Intel i9 with a budget of $2000? Peripherals not included. Is this monitor good for the price?
Definitely the LG 27GL83-A which is finally back in stock after selling out like crazy. Great colors, good response time, and build quality is awesome. Black contrast is what you would expect from an IPS panel.
How about the LG everyone has been after during corona? link
1440p 144hz 1ms. Under $400
If you'd like a similarly performing monitor for a much cheaper price try getting this one instead of the 850-bhttps://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF - 380$it performed extremely well on RTings, even compared to the 850-B and for 120$ cheaper its a pretty obvious pick, all you really loose is the USB ports on the side and a tiny bit of refresh rate https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/lg/27gl83a-bAlso for power supply here's a much better option for cheaper for your PC build aswell https://www.newegg.com/fractal-design-ion-fd-psu-ionp-560p-bk-560w/p/N82E16817580021?Description=ion%20+%20platinum&cm_re=ion_+%20platinum-_-17-580-021-_-Product - Fractal ion + platinum, sure its not 650w, but its a better power supply overall in quality and you don't need a 650w psu at all for that builds power draw, and its also quieter then the g3 with better OCP protections which the g3 had issues with.
This one is very popular. I have the same panel, but Lenovo and love it. It is pretty pricey, but in the long run is probably well worth it.

HA! This is so ironic as I JUST put this same brand in my wishlist, although mine is $450 cheaper, thanks for the brand info though!
EDIT: I may as well go for broke and get the 850 model after all!

This is what I bought and it’s been amazing
I currently have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card (I know it's not the best) and am in the market for a new monitor as I'm upgrading my desk. I've done tons of research (to be honest I have fatigue at the amount of options and the more I learn the more I don't know, lol) and have come to understand (I think?) that ideally I want have the following benchmarks for my setup:
27'' monitor (I don't have space/funds for a larger one)
1440 P at a minimum
1ms response time
144hz refresh rate
G-Sync
I'm a newbie here so please bear with me. I had planned to have a budget of around ~$300 but realize now that I should probably just spend ~400-500 to get something that fits the above criteria. I think I've decided on either getting one of these two monitors as they seem to be highly regarded on here and /r/buildapcmonitors /r/buildapcsales :
My question is - does the nano-ip make a difference? If it doesn't, which one of these would you go with? They're both the same price just about. Given my graphics card isn't top of the line does it really even matter? Do I need to be spending $500 on a monitor? I mostly play Dota2 and Diablo3.
Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for the help!
For the monitor, unless you are certain you need 155hz for sure, I would recommend this monitor, it has better ratings according to rtings. When its in stock, its around $345
>So there are 5 options here... Which one you thinking?
https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
Easy answer, LG GL83ALG GL83
Does anyone know if the G-sync on the LG 27GL83A-B 27 inch monitor is the new version that is compatible with Radeon cards?
Thanks!
Nah man, there aren't any of those around. 24', 1080p, 144hz IPS just barely came around last year. Besides, 27" is way better for 1440p by most people's standard. Go for something like the LG 7GL83a which is probably one of the best selling ones right now.
There is a brand new LG 1440p 27 inch 144hz monitor on Amamzon for a steal of 345 if your interested
Op seems to have a referral link, here's the non-referral link https://www.amazon.ca/LG-27GL83A-B-27-Inch-Led-Lit-14700510/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=LG+27GL83A-B&qid=1594815911&sr=8-1
This one is a little over your budget but a very good monitor. It's one of the best 1440p 144hz monitors on the market with a great free sync range and great motion handling too.
and IMHO curved is a big gimmick it doesn't do anything and at worst makes viewing angles worse.
this one sits well below your desired target. Though I don't know much about this one admittedly. But I would suggest you pay a bit of the premium to get a very good QHD 144hz monitor.
You can’t go wrong with this beauty:
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BeBdFb2JE6NE0
Also check those previous two I posted . It might tickle your fancy.
I think that its competitor is the LG 27GL83A-B, and it has some advantages. It has better speakers and a higher HDR certification (HDR400), but the LG has a sleeker design and better DCI-P3 coverage.
I got an LG 83A last year and I love it. If you’re on /r/BuildAPCSales you’ve probably seen it. IPS, 27in, 1440p, 144hz, G-Sync, 1ms, (shitty) HDR, etc.
Surprisingly it’s actually in stock right now:

Lg-27GL83A it’s also 1440p and Vesa mountable
LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_E.8cFbHRGKSPM
LG 27 gl83a by far. It is priced $380 on amazon and has one of the best panels for 144hz displays . LG 27gl83a has the best combination of overshoot/response time for 144hz. It is an LG IPS panel so color is great, but not as good as some other ips displays. However, the other ips displays suffer in performance and/or substantially more expensive than the lg27gl83a. Here is a link: https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=lg+27gl83a&qid=1602130490&s=electronics&sr=1-1

The other option is the lg 27gn850 which is the 2020 refresh of the lg 27gl850. It is priced at $450 and I know that is higher your price point, but it may be something to consider. It doesn't have a usb port and it is $50 cheaper than the lg 27gl850 at $500. However, it does have better color than the lg 27gl3a and has, somewhat, hdr support. Speed and Inverse ghosting are the same for a locked 144hz refresh rate, but the lg27gn850 will handle adaptive sync better for a variable refresh rate if you are playing below 144hz. I can only find it on best buy currently: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-ultragear-27-ips-led-qhd-freesync-and-g-sync-compatable-monitor-with-hdr-black/6401809.p?skuId=6401809

Someone mentioned to go look at Hardware Unboxed earlier and I absolutely agree. They are amazing. I got most of my information from them. Since 360 hz 1080p monitors are around the corner, you may want to save your money and wait for a compelling 1440p 240 hz monitor to come out. Keep an eye on Hardware unboxed as they will review more monitors to come.

I've been eyeing the LG 27GL83A-B as part of the Nvidia 3000 series build I've been planning, but Amazon says it won't be in stock until mid October (and seems to keep moving back). Today I found the Acer XG270HU on sale for $280. I also see the ViewSonic VX2758-2KP-MHD and Pixio PX7P monitors in stock within my price range.
I currently have an Asus VW246H (24", 1080p, 60Hz @ 1080p, TFT? (can't find much on the panel type)) as a primary monitor and a Dell U2412M (24", 1920x1200, 60Hz, IPS) as a secondary. The new monitor would replace my primary.

Amazon (US) link for anyone wondering. It's the LG 27GL83A model. Great monitor in terms of bang for your buck.
Here's a pretty high end build in a white/pink aesthetic that may be a good base to build off of. However, as the other poster said, don't pull the trigger on the graphics card until the details for the next generation are released next week.
That monitor can play both high refresh rate games with excellent image quality. It might be out of stock, but I would try to get that or this monitor which is also very good https://www.amazon.com/Electronics-UltraGear-adaptador-inversor-corriente/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=sr_1_1?crid=F2VONKEA82VE&dchild=1&keywords=lg%2B1440p%2B144hz%2Bmonitor&qid=1598741192&sprefix=lg%2B1440p%2Caps%2C212&sr=8-1&th=1 .
Good deals on monitors pop up all the time for this level of monitor on r/buildapcsales so I would stalk that for a while reading comments for recommendations.

Nice! I'm not a big fan of curved monitors but that one looks decent. I'm waiting on a LG 27GL83A-B. Shipping time from Amazon is 1-2 months.
I got an LG one for $380 new on Amazon. Free returns, too, so if I find a better price on something similar in the next month, I can just swap out. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Changes-
CPU Cooler: added an aftermarket cooler, as the 3600’s stock cooler keeps the CPU in check, but not by much. The 212 Black Edition is a great value solution that will keep the CPU plenty cool.
Motherboard: Changed to a Tomahawk MAX B450. Basically the same price, but better VRM layout and I/O.
Memory: upped to a 3600 MHz CL 16 kit. Ryzen CPUs benefit from faster RAM, so it’s worth the $15 extra for the performance increase.
PSU: the unit you listed is fine, just overpriced right now, likely due to stock shortages. This is a 750 watt 80+ Gold unit from Corsair that’s got plenty of headroom for you and is fully modular, which will cut down on cable clutter.
As for a monitor, I’d go for this one from LG. It’s 1440p, 144 Hz, an IPS display, is GSync compatible, has HDR 10, and has an advertised 1ms response time. I own this monitor, and it’s wonderful. It’s a little above $350, but I assure you it’s worth it.
Overall, there’s nothing wrong with your build, but I think the changes I made were worth it, especially considering it’s less expensive. I hope this helped, and let me know if you have any questions!

Before you ask why I added a Ryzen 3950x a 16 core CPU is useful since 8 cores can be spilt between the game and the stream
This build can run warone 100+ in 1440p ultra settings (IDK about RTX ON and OFF)
This is a 1440p 144hz Gsync compatible monitor
Thank you first of all. I got the one at Amazon for $379 and was $406.59 with taxes (I have prime). It’s a great deal for a 1440p resolution gaming monitor.

Amazon Warehouse - $331 - Used: Very Good - approx ~$360 after tax
This is the monitor I have. It’s been amazing for the past 6 months and the difference between 2k and 4K isn’t nearly as noticeable to me as 1080 and 4K. Also I got this monitor for around $300 in December so I would suggest finding it somewhere else than amazon

The best Monitor in the market no questions asked. 100% no 100000% get the LG 27GL83A-B for around $360 although it’s always oos in less than 2 minutes every time it restocks Make sure it’s sold by Amazon

The LG he said routinely is sold by amazon for 370USD, other sellers have it up for 500+ its arguably the best 27 inch monitor for under 500.
Those are usually the three most popular you'll see on Reddit. the LG is normally $370, Asus $150, AOC $170.
Doesn't get better than this goes in in out of stock all the time only available on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=LG+27GL83A-B+27-Inch&qid=1588282058&sr=8-1
I just got bought of these. Still in stock on the Canadian amazon. I am a little peeved at amazon considering I ordered one a few days ago while they were out of stock and my existing order was left pending today so I just cancelled it and reordered.

I've been using a 40" LG 1080p TV for a monitor since my other monitor kicked the bucket. I can't wait for my eye strain to go away :D
A lot of monitors right now are getting bought up right when they get in stock (if you check /r/buildapcsales you will see several posts a day when stuff gets restocked). I bought the LG27GL83A-B for $370 last week and am very happy with it. It comes in stock randomly on Amazon and sells out fast but if you can snag one for that price it is solid. People post on /r/buildapcsales when it comes in stock.
https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
If anyone is on a OSX/Mac, here's a short script I wrote to alert you if the monitor is back in stock. It'll check every ~4-6 mins indefinitely so make sure to kill the script once you are done. Amazon doesn't like scripts like these so I wouldn't shorten the refresh time or you might risk being banned. You've been warned.

The LG GL850 is a great monitor for around $375, but it’s hard to get right now. It seems to get restocked on amazon everyday, but sells out in minutes. https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
You won't find it. IPS panels are not currently available in the 32" size, at least not one with fast response times. VA is your best bet for this size, but even if they're advertised at 1ms they'll be more like 7ms or 10ms or worse. I can't speak for TN panel but from a quick search I don't see any viable options, and TN would probably look terrible.

If it absolutely needs to be 32" these are probably your best options. They're both above $300. The Dell sometimes drops to $350.

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s3220dgf

1ms at 27" is much more viable. Someone who knows more than me could suggest a less expensive one, but for everything I have seen this is a seriously good value at $380. It's only available on Amazon, and you have to be quick to buy it when it comes in stock.

https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
If you're interested in a new monitor, I linked you the one I bought off Amazon a few months back. I think I paid around $380. No longer available on Amazon but I'm sure you could find it elsewhere. I cannot reccomend this monitor enough.

I had the same problem finding! So it turns out the amazon app doesn’t show sold out items, so you have to google it. Here’s the link: LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_pU7MEbP2SRRJN. I added it to my list and checked daily until it came back in stock. In my opinion, it was worth the wait!
And from what I’ve read, yes they’re mostly the same. But only the IPS panel ones, the VA ones are obviously different. I would check out the rtings review video.
I've just done a lot of research for a 1440p 144hz monitor, and made a purchase today.
From what i've read, the most recommended is the LG 27GL83A-B (amazon exclusive)
It has almost identical performance to the more expensive 850 other people recommend. Only lacking slightly better colors in some situations, and USB ports. But its 140$ cheaper.

Its hard to find right now, with everyone getting free government money to burn. But right this moment it is in stock on Amazon. I just saw it pop up and ordered. ($373.62)
LG 27GL83A-B is in stock on amazon right now, it's a really good monitor.
Also I highly recommend the LG 27GL83A which just came back in stock on Amazon. It has a bit faster response times than those you mentioned, which means less ghosting, and at $380 it's super affordable.
On the upper end of your budget (just came in stock earlier today at $377 on amazon, and is now out of stock again, so just keep checking), you can get the LG 27GL83A-B. Rtings has it rated relatively high for media work. As with any monitor, post-calibration it could be even better than with the stock presets. It's an IPS panel, which you'll definitely want for editing.

Just ordered one off of Amazon myself, I'm in the US. https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL850-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF?th=1
This guy? https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF?th=1 Seems to be in stock on Amazon but maybe that's not the right one.
just keep randomly refreshing the lg83a amazon page everyday and sometimes it'll show up for sale for 20-30mins.

Amazon Used-Very Good returned monitors for $331.06 (or $379 new)
Same panel as the other comment, doesn't have the wide 135% sRGB coverage but is still has 99% coverage so the 850-B is for sure better but it may not be $50+ better to you.

I would have used a similar google express link with $20 off but this monitor isn't listed there under "Buy on Google" so the promo code won't work.
Rook no further, PriceKnight is here!

If you dont need the USB hub and can handle the shorter cables there's the Amazon version of the 27GL850 -> 27GL83A
The backlight/colour will be a little different but it should still be an excellent panel

Adding onto this, the 27GL83A-B has been restocked on Amazon for anyone that was looking at this the other day.
I caught this on sale before they ran out:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And I got this 2070 Super w/ COD:MW:
After the MIR and if I can sell this Modern Warfare for $40 then I essentially got it for 429.99 :)
I also don't have sales tax so it was nice lol
>Would not recommend that case, watch this for why.
Phew! I was going for the Elite just for the looks but since it compromises performance I'll be getting what you recommended. Thanks for the heads up!
>if you're to spend money on a motherboard it might as well be x570 for PCIE 4 support.
Too bad the motherboard was a gift and couldn't choose it :( What would I be losing without PCIE 4 support?
Btw... Do you think this monitor would be ideal?
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
I am not sure how much the 1060 will struggle to run 1440p @ 144Hz, but I would definitely look into upgrading your gpu to get a better experience.
For monitors, I would recommend arguably one of the best monitors of 2019 https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
Edit: Also this is an IPS monitor, so it is 4ms, but it beats out many TN panels response times with input delay timings. Check out the rtings review for more info.

I'm looking for something like the LG 27GL83A-B but at 24 inches. Any suggestions?
I did some testing on heaven and heres what I got: My monitor im using https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2k 144hz- it did it
1080p 144 hz- it did it
1080p 100 hz- no problems
2k 100 hz no problems

I also tested heaven on another monitor at 1080p 144hz and it was fine.
Im using an hdmi cable for all of the tests (for both monitors as well).
My user benchmarks checkout. Theyre not under performing

I also check it at 2k 120 hz and there was no problems

edit: judging by my testing I think its the monitor. I only have problems when it goes to 144hz. What are your thoughts? Also Im going to test the monitor with a different pc tomorrow

edit2: switched from hdmi to display port and activated g sync. Everythings fine now. Thank you for the help.
get the 27GL83A instead
hi all! The recommendations given below by you all, would they be good for my rig: RTX 2080, i7-8700km 16GB Ram? I've been looking all over for a new monitor, preferably a 1440p, 144hz 27inch with G-sync. Any recommendations please?
Here's my current amazon & best buy list:
LG 27GL83A-B: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-ultragear-27-ips-led-qhd-freesync-monitor-with-hdr-black/6358119.p?skuId=6358119 - I believe that this is the new LG on (GLA50)
ASUS ROG PG279Q 27" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017EVR2VM/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Acer Predator XB271HU https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZXZ3QBD/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_9?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Would appreciate any feedback or opinion please!
Neither, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YGZL8XF/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 this is on sale now for $320. best deal ever. and its 1440p
I had a C27HG70 for a few months (got refunded due to getting 3 occurrences of dead pixels). Generally, I liked it, but it did have one issue in my experience, and that is the adaptive sync experience.
For me, the monitor had very noticeable inverse ghosting even above 100 FPS with FreeSync enabled. Hard to notice in brighter scenes, but in darker scenes (which this monitor excels at displaying) it was very distracting. I'd say the refresh range where this doesn't happen is maybe 120hz - 144hz (which is the "Standard" Freesync setting in the OSD), but that's such a relatively narrow range for FreeSync. The inverse ghosting issues combined with that narrow range just made me not even bother with the setting, and that was one of the main reasons why I bought the thing.
It also seems to be a common issue from my research. Posts on the Samsung forums begging Samsung to adjust the overdrive (you can't adjust overdrive/overdrive seems to turn off while FreeSync is enabled) via a firmware update are not hard to find, and the issue seems to happen on both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs.
Also with FreeSync enabled, my monitor was prone to backlight flicker on loading screens for games.
Basically, if you don't plan to use adaptive sync at all, then yeah I'd say go for it. Visually, the monitor was great. Great colors and super deep blacks, and while HDR600 may not be "true HDR" to most people, it still worked wonders to enhance the image in games that supported it.
Also, instead of the Pixio, for an IPS in that budget range, I'd recommend the LG 27GL83A-B. It's less expensive, has faster response times and better motion handling than the PX7 Prime from my research. The only downside compared to the PX7 is that it doesn't have wide color gamut support, but given the vast majority of content is authored for sRGB anyway, you won't be missing much.
Great value for the price. IPS, 1ms, G-Sync works like a charm on the games I've tried (CS:GO, PUBG, Fortnite, Rocket League, R6S).
The new LG 27GL83A-B is also a prime contender in this bracket and early word is that it will be the new 27" 1440p/144hz value king. If you live near a Micro Center there is also the Acer XF270HUA that many people say good things about
EDIT: Also wait for November to buy anything, prices are going up so that everything can be discounted heavily for Black Friday/Cyber Monday
In and out of stock in the U.S. the last few days: https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=LG+27GL83A&qid=1572124640&sr=8-1
So I would probably go with a few changes. I think your build is adequate and fine, but if I was investing in a build I would lean toward these changes.
cpu: if I am not streaming and don't plan on streaming then I would go with the 3600 over the 3700x. It's got all the juice under the hood already for anything non-gaming, and it has the same single threaded performance as the 3700x. I currently own a 12k mark cpu, and it does everything I need already.. so a 20k mark score is overkill basically.. let alone paying an additional $120 for another 4k in multithreading for the 3700x. If I was planning on streaming a lot professionally, I would go with the 3900x for sure.
cpu cooler: after market coolers starting as cheap as the hyper 212 evo run quieter and cooler than the stock coolers (amd redesigned their stock coolers with a cheaper heatsink, and a higher rpm fan to save money.. but it has the same cooling, but it's louder). The d15s is the single fan version of the d15. Can run silently, and cools much better. ryzen 3000 cpus get very hot even on basic workloads due to the way the boost algorithm works, so cooling is important and impacts performance
memory: due to infinity fabric, the system memory acts as an additional memory swap.. similar to cache memory, so faster memory in ryzen 3000 actually gives a performance boost in gaming. this ddr4 3600mhz 16 latency memory is known to clock correctly to 3600mhz and is a great cost for value. the next step up is a $300 plus memory kit
motherboard: a bit of a hidden gem, msi makes the best b450 motherboards, it has bios flashback so you can update it to ryzen 3000 without a cpu, wifi, bluetooth, great vrms, solid on-board 8.1 audio, intel gigabit lan, usb-c included, etc. it has all the features of a x570 asus tuf gaming plus wifi, without the loud chipset fan, the only thing it lacks is pcie4 which is not necessary.
storage: the kingston a2000 looks to be a solid m.2 drive
video card: personally I would buy the 5700, as the 5700 xt is basically an overclocked 5700. if the performance wasn't enough I would overclock it.
case: the fractal design meshify c is a nice case
power supply: a brand new to the market power supply, 10-year warranty, smaller form factor for better cooling, is on sale for -$30, 650watts is more than plenty as ryzen 3000 cpus max about 150 watts of usage so this psu would be just fine for a 2080 ti (and power usage overall in computers is going down, not up currently)
case fans: they both look good
monitor: well reviewed, well balanced monitor.. $500 is a lot though. It's a solid ips monitor, I would probably go with the similar panel lg-27gl83a for $380 where it has a different color space as I don't do any professional editing. Amazon link. But it's fine.
So yea a few changes, nothing too crazy.
I am not sure how the monitor is yet, but i hear there is a lot of hype around the LG 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Ultragear QHD IPS 1ms, which is the sRGB version of the LG 27gl80-B. I would wait until the reviews compare them but here is the link to the one i probably recommend
high refresh rate, 144hz, freesync ips (with faster response time but keep the mode on fast instead of faster to prevent overshoot)

and the more expensive version that has a wide color gamut
I would recommend waiting a bit though to get some review on the first monitor but I would recommend it none the less if it is like the second monitor only cheaper and with sRGB instead of a wide color gamit.
I bought the LG 27GL83A-B a few days ago and have spent a few hours on it. The contrast is "fine" and I'm digging it so far.
The <strong>LG 27GL83A-B</strong> is the only good 1440p 144Hz monitor under $400. Others have terrible response time.
Better to just pick up the LG thats always on sale for a bit more
Should I cancel my order on this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_gjboFbV88K8DD
And go with the gigabyte instead
https://smile.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF
anything past this is basically a waste.
Get a monitor then. 4k monitors are really expensive so you may want to go with a 1440p 144hz monitor like this one https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2VYG36YY3X1EB&dchild=1&keywords=lg850g+monitor&qid=1600382088&sprefix=lg850%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-1
LG 27gl83a. Very affordable and works like a charm. Haven’t had a single issue with it. It says “gaming monitor” on amazon, but that’s purely marketing. You could always try newegg or some other site that doesn’t have that wording, but “gaming” isn’t in the actual name at all and it’s from a known tv brand that your mom is probably familiar with.
You're not going to find exact matching criteria for everything but if you consider the price of this an what you get - https://www.viewsonic.com/us/vx2758-2kp-mhd.html
It makes $500+ 144hz 27in QHD IPS displays seems rather poor from a value stand point. Judging by LG's own new release they also know there is pressure as well - https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL83A-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07YGZL8XF/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=lg+27gl83a&qid=1571932637&sprefix=LG+27gl83a&sr=8-1
If you look at it more generally 144hz QHD 27in IPS displays came out 4+ years ago. The cost of entry for the new releases over this year is almost the same with almost the same capabilities. In how many tech consumer areas does pricing hold for that long? People even felt the last GPU releases were stagnant, but compared to these monitors they are way better in terms of progress.
But really that segment isn't the one facing the most competitive and pricing pressure so all the existing players can still keep relatively higher margins. If you look in the article it's the segments facing pressure from China and Samsung (look how much Samsung's driven VA monitor costs down).
Overall the "gaming" monitor segment is of interest to manufacturers because of the higher average margins relative to the general monitor market.
I'd recommend the LG 27GL83A-B when it comes back in stock at $499 instead if you're really looking for something around $500. There was also this deal that you might've missed and it's worse than the LG but very good still, so a similar deal might pop up.
Depending on your definition of absurd, there's a great 1440p 144 hz IPS HDR monitor from LG that's on sale for about $300 on Amazon. Has good reviews for gaming but the reviews are mixed about the HDR.
