I use Anti Slip tape, doesn't have to be this brand but it's what I got

It's pretty aggressive like actual knurling. Just don't overlap the tape onto itself, won't stick as well, if at all.

I used this stuff. It's like bumpy knurl lol. Better than some passive bars actually. Hockey tape would be good too.
