I keep a safety belt cutter on the door, tucked in so it won't be dislodged. It also has a window breaker thing on it in case of water. Being a new parent makes you think of all the things.
EDIT: May as well add the others - I like camping and drive for work a lot, so I keep prepared. I have a great emergency kit in the car that I bought off of amazon on a Black Friday deal. I think it's this one, but they have a $23 and $35 one as well. Everything is neatly tucked away, and it came with a great little quick guide for 'if things go wrong' as well.
I also keep a couple bungee cords, feminine products (would be worth socking a pad or two away if you have a lady friend; nothing's worse than being surprised), a couple 100 calorie packs of mixed nuts for snacks, a gallon of water, pack of cards, flashlight, little notebook and pens, throw blanket, window scraper/brush, tire pressure gauge, Chapstick and moisturizer, hand sanitizer, and tissues. I think that's it, haha
And those little disposable toothbrushes just in case!
