I have something similar to this. Works great and easy to put in and take off
We bought some generic ones from Amazon similar to these. We've used them a few times without issues (just around town, not highway speeds).
I use these cradles on the Mazda-branded Whispbars. They're wide enough to fit and they clamp down securely, although they have a tendency to dig into the aluminum a bit and cause some cosmetic damage, especially at the trailing edge of the bar - the bolt threads sometimes rub a bit there. It's possible that putting some vinyl tubing over the unused portion of the bolt, or switching to partially-threaded fasteners, would prevent the wear.
Ultimately, I figure it's not a painted surface, and they're primarily a functional component. Much like a truck bed sometimes gets scratched, I wear my crossbar scuffs like a badge of honor compared to all the SUVs driving around with bars they've never even pretended to use. I can buy a whole new set of crossbars for what two sets of the Yakima cradles cost. If I think about it, I'll try to get you a photo of the wear tonight.
Getting a cheap rack is the hard part. I'm not sure what's available for the Accord, but you might even want to check with your dealer. My Mazda 3 offered a Mazda-branded Yakima Whispbar, which was already slightly cheaper from Mazda than it was from Yakima. But by getting the Mazda part number and searching online, I found it for about half price, I think around $250.
Once you've figured out a rack, the cradles are easy. I don't know how the big brands get away with the prices they ask. I've had this set for two years now, and they're holding up great. And yes, that's $50 for 4 J-cradles, sufficient to carry two boats. The mounting system will work with either round or aero bars and seems very sturdy.
If you have the crossbars which connect to and run perpendicular to your roof rack then I suggest these for a budget. text Here's a picture of my jeep strapped up.
If you go the kayak route, you can save a bundle for your roof racks if you already have the rails on your vehicle.
These have great reviews on Amazon. I just bought them and used them twice with success. You can also throw in these loops for securing the bows and sterns to your vehicle.
Thats my driveway lol. It is florida, though.
The roof rack is OEM VW. I can find that part # if you'd like to see it. The J-hooks are just some mid-grade pair from Amazon. They're all pretty much identical as far as I can tell. I modified them a bit because I didnt trust the thumbscrews. https://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-Warranty-Pairs-Carrier-Crossbar/dp/B00873J0YY
I've got rear straps leading to the trunk where I'm using these: https://www.amazon.com/Action-Transport-Accessories-Vehicle-Lashing/dp/B08CVS2J7H
They're actually hood loops, but they dont work on this car because of the hood design, so I use them for the trunk instead.
Yes. I bought these for the roof rack. And, no need to tie down the nose if you properly tie it down as in the video. I have 2 kayaks at all times.

Make sure the measurements work for your roof rails. These are a set of two but if you only need one, look and see if they sell a single pair version.
You'll also want something like the ties below for the front and rear ties. These are okay but I'd recommend getting something that reviews better.
J bars are a good option. This is what I'm using.
