Good for you! Many libraries participate in Inter-Library Loans, so I hope yours can find it for you.
BTW, Amazon has it for $6-$8; plus a PDF of random pages so you could get an idea of it. https://www.amazon.com/Light-Yoga-B-K-Iyengar/dp/0805210318
I’d recommend Light On Yoga (also Light on Pranayama, and Light On Life) by BKS Iyengar. Light On Yoga
This has pretty detailed yoga asana instructions as well as suggested sequences, starting with beginner sequences.
There’s also other stuff from Tibetan teachers like Yantra Yoga from Namkhai Norbu or ... I think Tibetan Self Healing Yoga something or other by Dr. Nida.
Within Tibetan Buddhism generally Tsa Lung/Trulkhor relates partly to asanas and breath work.

Light on Yoga by B.K.S. Iyengar. He goes over all poses step by step and includes some philosophy in the text. My studio has a copy in every room, so people can reference it while they practice
A lot of that healing comes from the yoga philosophy. Most people are taught patanjali's 8-limb path that has philosophy as well as physical practices. Yoga ideals are not so much about the thought process, but they are about doing the actual actions. For example cleanliness is one of the 10 philosophies but it's not the idea of being clean that makes you happy it's the actual work of doing the dishes, washing your car, keeping good hygiene, and fixing your diet that makes you happy. Here is a book that everyone reads that will get you started. The first 50 pages are all about the background of yoga. I also imagine that Patanjali's sutra's will help too. And there is Buddha's 8-fold path that is very similar to what Patanjali says.
Yes! Purchase a copy of "Light on Yoga" by B.K.S. Iyengar (available on amazon!) It is a good reference to have for any yogi.
Good luck to you. Namaste.
Maybe this one but I haven't tried it. One can also try books like Light on Yoga. Kino Macgregor has a great youtube channel too.
Light on Yoga outlines beginner through advanced sequences. You can’t go wrong starting here. ❤️ Light on Yoga: The Bible of Modern Yoga https://www.amazon.com/dp/0805210318/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_CJ0NAC410D7GWBCCQ7S3
Did the version you buy look like this? This is likely an illegal copy. The old versions of this book were silver. I have this version - I bought it in 1991. The newer versions of this book have a tan and white cover.
None of them are spiral bound.
These illegal copies of the silver cover version are common.
I actually prefer the silver cover version; maybe because it was one of my first yoga books.
This is a great book. It's over 50 years old now, so some of the information is a little dated, but it's a classic and you will enjoy it.
You could look into Iyengar yoga.
Light on Yoga by Iyengar is classic.
As said, you don't need to, you just need some open space - but there are two helpful things you could buy: One a good mat and secondly, if you prefer to have an alternative resource to the internet, check out this yoga bible. or download. Namaste
