I've been using this and it works really well. Keeps the phone cool with the AC vent. Sturdy. I've always liked the magnetic based holders but I don't have a phone with wireless charging.

Bought this one, mostly like it.

It connects to my air vent really, really well. Much better than the old one I had which was a completely different design.

Couple things. I have an Motorola something or another with an Otter Box. I put one plate inside the Otter Box and one outside to give more metal for the magnet on the mount to connect with. It holds really well.

I wish it angled up a little higher so it'd be easier for me to look at. But it's not bad. It doesn't flop around. That's just as high as it will angle.

A person on here had a magnetic mount with wireless charging. That would be a dream but my phone doesn't have wireless charging. If that is an option for you then it's something to consider. Being able to just slap your phone on there real quick and go without plugging in would be awesome.

I'd actually kind of like to mount my phone up high on my windshield so I can glance at it while my eyes are on the road. That would take a totally different mount. However, having my phone in front of an air vent is a huge help in keeping it cool. Especially in this heat. Just something to think about.

When I had my S10, I bought a car phone holder that came with a small metal plate to stick on your phone. Instead I placed the plate inside my slim phone case and that held it in place. It didn't interfere with my wireless charging either.

Maybe you can find a metal plate online and just pair it with a case of your choosing.

I got this for my 2018 SEL and I don't regret it at all. I like how it attaches to a vent and doesn't rely on either suction cup to window or odd sticky substance on the dash. I got a tiny piece of cloth or foam to protect the clip and underside of the vent as well.

Strong magnet and mount. Tested on Montréal/Quebec roads which are awful, never had a problem.

Secured it on the inside rim of the middle right air vent, doesn't move at all even with a tablet attached.

For the visor I just poked my pins through the strap on the driver side one. Doesn’t prevent me from holding things up there. I plan to own this car til it dies so I didn’t mind poking holes. I have black vinyl to also stick my stickers too and hide the ugly airbag sticker.

I rather stick a magnet sticker thing on the back of my phone and mount it to the vent.

I prefer the air vent mount because it can cool down the phone in summer. In Winter, the warm air usually comes from side and bottom in auto mode, so there is no issue either.

FWIW, I did find this one which is specific to F-Types.

This one is my current solution and also works in the left side vent, but it's a bit in the way and uncomfortable to shift your eyes to.

If I wasn't so reliant on the accuracy of my phone's navigation, this probably would be a non-thing and I could just tuck my phone away.

I have a square magnetic mount (no charging) where I stick a metal plate on the back of my case (something like this guy). I noticed after the recent update (maybe simply a coincidence) that the metal plate started to heat up. I turned off Battery Share and it cooled down immediately.
