RE: Paper indicatiors:
There are many kinds of dessicant, if yours is "rechargable" in an oven and in a poly/paper bag the crystals/beads will have to be removed prior (unless instructed otherwise). Are there no instructions included?
If you want to stay with the dessicants and just keep recharging them, something like this can be kept in the metal container while in the oven and the color of the crystals change to indicate they are kaput: https://www.amazon.com/LOCKDOWN-Silica-Gel-750-grams/dp/B004QUIWAA
So for $40 all in your worries can be over, until you search for "vci emitters"...
Warmth and especially humidity can cause mold, which can destroy a lens. Get something like a plastic sweater box, and a renewable silica gel setup - it's also called a desiccant pack, you get a jar of silica gel and a container with a mesh opening. When the silica gets saturated, it changes color and you bake it in the oven to dry it out, reusable and effective.
I have almost the same setup as you, expect my hump is on the right and taps are on the front. I love how clean yours looks.
One thing I added that made a huge difference, is a jar of desiccant that can be regenerated in the oven. Keeps the inside nice and dry. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B004QUIWAA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_qQEfzbWWCQ8ZC
I'm assuming this one, is for a large safe, but it is still reusable and doesn't use plastic or paper for the container.
You can buy packs on Amazon cheap. You can also get reusable ones like this: https://www.amazon.com/LOCKDOWN-Silica-Gel-750-grams/dp/B004QUIWAA
you just put it in your oven to dry it out and refresh it (ideally when you're already baking something slow)
