Hey all, I'm kinda new to the whole headphone thing. Before a couple weeks ago I was fine with $10-20 earbuds, but after getting a Sony MDR-ZX310AP I've realized that I've probably been missing out on things. I want something of better quality, so I was hoping y'all could help me figure out what to get, since I have virtually no clue at all...
Budget: I'm an American, and my desired price range is $100-200. I might be willing to dish out up to $250, but I'd rather keep it below $200, especially for my first $100+ set.
Source: First and foremost, my PC. Depending on the headphones I might use them for my Android smartphone, but I already have the Sony headset for that.
Isolation: I have my own room, and plan to use them primarily with my PC, so bothering others isn't a concern. So a lot of isolation isn't a requirement.
Preferred Type: I'd prefer full-size, something that would go over my ears instead of on them. I've tried IEMs and they're just not comfortable. On-ear is also somewhat uncomfortable, though not as much as IEMs. (Does it matter that I wear glasses? Would that change anything?)
Preferred Tonal Balance: I prefer bass to the other ranges, though I'd also like the non-bass to be decent. I don't want to make too much of a sacrifice for bass if I don't have to, really.
Past Headphones: mostly cheap earbuds. I had a logitech headset for some time a few years ago, and I recently picked up a Sony Headset, as I mentioned earlier in the post.
Preferred music: I'm not really sure I can label a genre. Most of what I listen to is soundtracks (from movies or video games), and even then my music can range from rockish/techno/not actually sure to somewhat sorta jazzy. I also like to game, though I'd value general music quality over game sound quality.
Thanks in advance for any advice! I'd really appreciate it.
These (Logitech H230) are my favorite by far. I've bought this same one like 3 times now...
I don't use them as headphones (very often) and just wear them around my neck. Very comfortable.
