It's a classic for a reason. You won't be able to play it at HD resolution, and as a word of warning the graphics—particularly in the early game—were slammed for being kinda outdated on release. In 2000. But it's a classic for a reason.
That said, it's a twenty-year old game. It looks and feels like a twenty-year old game. There are possibly better options for you if you just want a dungeon crawler that a lower-end machine can handle. And if you want an RPG and not specifically an ARPG, there are more options still. Planescape: Torment and the Baldur's Gate games hold up incredibly well, but they both lack D2's, I dunno, zip. D2 gets right to the point.
If you care to share your specs you can probably get some specific recommendations. I'll add that if you do go with D2, do yourself a favor and invest in a cheap gaming mouse. The Diablo games are point and click, and playing with a laptop trackpad will start to feel painful fast.
The Logitech G300s is currently $28.99 on Amazon, and I have it myself. It has 4 convenient macro buttons that you can reach to with your index and middle fingers), and actually 6 if you count the 2 macro buttons below the mouse wheel. However, like I said, they're not thumb rest buttons, but they'll work, and it's a great deal for only $28.99.
I had a slightly older version of this logitech mouse and it was pretty awesome: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G300s-Optical-Gaming-910-004360/dp/B00RH6R7C4/ref=sr_1_5?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1444084068&sr=1-5&keywords=logitech+gaming+mouse&refinements=p_89%3ALogitech
There's also the Logitech G602 for $55, and the Logitech G303, both of which get very good reviews.
I got it a couple years ago, and I’ve been thinking about upgrading but idk what mouse to get cus my ability’s are on the top of the mouse and, I would need to change the muscle memory.
Also like 3 weeks ago I realized I was playing on mouse acceleration this whole time. When I fixed it I beat all my kovaaks scores.
Logitech G300s. Slightly different format (the "side" buttons are more on the top of the mouse) but I think it's great value.
Buy a better mouse. That looks like cheap garbage. If you want a decent mouse that isn't expensive buy this.
Don't believe things that say "regular price $60, sale price $16.99" they're trying to make you believe you bought a $60 mouse for substantially less than that. But short of extraordinary circumstances, like clearing old stock, you price you pay is a profitable one for the companies involved.
Thanks for the info. Any quick thoughts about the Deathadder Chroma or Essentials?
Also, do you know of any mice off the top of your head that have buttons next to the Left Click (and Right Click) buttons?
My current mouse: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G300s-Optical-Gaming-910-004360/dp/B00RH6R7C4
I really like the two buttons next to Left Click and Right Click; I usually bind small actions to them like Stop/Attack Move in Dota 2, and Quick Melee in Overwatch. I'm not used to having buttons under my thumb, and I'm a little worried that I'd accidentally press them (never had buttons under my thumb before, so IDK how "easy" it is to accidentally press them).
Not a must-have for me, but I realized that it was something I quite liked about my current mouse. Only reason I'm switching is because my G300S right click is slightly broken; sometimes it "sticks", and right-clicking doesn't feel responsive occasionally :/ (Plus it feels a little small; I'd like a bigger mouse).
Thanks!
I might suggest the slightly more expensive Logitech gaming mouse G300. Best purchase i've ever made for my machine.
Old mouse broke, need new mouse for my laptop.
I found this mouse, and while it certainly looks attractive, but im not sure if this is what I need.
I tend to play shooters, though mostly not fps, but games like Warframe or isometric and third person games.
I am right handed, and my preferable budget is around $30 USD, but will not go above $50.
Hand length is ~22.23 (this is done with a tape measure so I cant be sure about exactness).
I tend to use the palm grip while web browsing and lite gaming, with the fingertip grip in other scenarios, or the claw if I get agitated.
I would prefer a mouse on the mid to heavy side, and I am a bit new to mice and it seems like an Adjustable DPI would be preferred, but more than 3000 seems a bit excessive.
I find having other buttons available for me very convenient to use with macros. I use both Windows 7 and Linux, and as this is a laptop, I would prefer a wireless mouse, but I have no problems with using a wired mouse. I would appreciate any help or recommendations from you guys.
I will just say this, I have been able to get to DMG with a 60 HZ monitor. having 144 HZ Monitor may help, but a monitor inst going to magically 100x better at that game. With the mouse, I would recommend getting a better mouse down the road. I just do not believe that it is better to spend money on peripherals rather than the actual PC. If you want to get a separate mouse, this is what I would recommend. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G300s-Optical-Gaming-910-004360/dp/B00RH6R7C4/ref=sr_1_21?ie=UTF8&qid=1459114025&sr=8-21&keywords=gaming+mouse
This is the mouse I currently own and it runs great for the price.
You can try using a different USB port but I think it is the mouse in general. Have you tried connecting another mouse to your computer through the same port and seeing if the problem occurs in CSGO just like that mouse?
Edit: Here is a cheap gaming mouse that I would take over the one you bought, it is a tad more expensive but it is under 60$ which is normally the price of most big brands like Razer, Steelseries, Logitech
I've been using the ambidextrous G300s for over 5 years and I wouldn't trade it for the world
Edit: It has 9 buttons total and is only $30
I did everything but the graphics card. I picked a monitor that is 1080p at 144hz, but you could cut down to 1080p 70hz if your budget is super tight. I didn't leave too much space for a graphics card. Either way, like the other guy said, you should wait awhile. These prices shouldn't change too much, maybe the processor and mobo will be cheaper.

Edit: He can also change the mouse to something like this if he doesn't need as many buttons:
I haven't looked into specs or anything but the CLOSEST shape I could think of is the g300s

You could try the G300S,

THIS ONE Is ambidextrous
I'll put a good word in for the Logitech G300s.
I have that on the left side (I like using two mice) and it's been solid with daily use.
On sale for 20/25 on amazon. Really can't go wrong for the price.
I'm not left handed but I did recently look at some mouse that is ambidextrous-designed. The Logitech G300 seem pretty decent.
I’ve owned three in the last 8ish years because I haven’t had a need to buy a more expensive gaming mouse.

I too suffer with the small hands-mostly console gamer problems. I am luckily a righty so I have a few less issues.
I stumbled upon this lovely and affordable mouse that looks like it should work equally well for a lefty or righty.

It is the perfect number of keys for me to move my utilities, heal and special action all onto the mouse, idk if this helps at all but I hope this thread gives some solutions :D
Bit older of a model but its a good name brand gaming mouse for 20 bucks. Logitech G300s Optical Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse – 9 Programmable Buttons, Onboard Memory https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RH6R7C4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_3D04Cb7F7CD51
Why not just buy a G300s ?

It's like 40$ without prime sorry, but I got it on discount for 20$ by bad
This is the mouse in question.
I used a Logitech G300s for about a year but I didn't like it very much for first-person shooters. Very compact and nice for a small mouse, though; plenty of buttons. Probably best for a claw grip, which I could never get used to.
I switched to a ZOWIE EC2-A about a year ago and haven't even thought of switching since then. It's a very simple mouse, not a lot of buttons, but it fits my hand perfectly. I really love it.
Maybe something logitech? I feel they're pretty underrated and have pretty reliable equipment. I use this for my PC, and while I realize it is listed as $80, you can definitely get it cheaper on amazon or, if you're willing to wait, find it on sale eventually. I got it for around $20 on black friday i think. For a cheaper model from logitech you could look at this.
I'm not a super avid PC gamer so I can't honestly say these will fit the specs you're looking for, but i've been using the G502 for probably almost 2 years now and it hasn't given me a single problem.
Currently own the Logitech G300s
Any thoughts on better? worse? or just stay pat?
Can you just buy one of these, it's far superior in customizability https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G300s-Optical-Ambidextrous-Gaming/dp/B00RH6R7C4/
Any gaming mouse by Logitech is good. I did a quick search on PC Part Picker: Mice and found the best mouse for the price. Check out this Logitech - G300S Wired Optical Mouse. It's currently on sale for only $24.90 on Amazon and normally sells for $40. I already have two extra mice still in their packages but might have to buy this one now too, as it's a great deal.
I'm using a Logitech G300s. Only $30 from Amazon and it has plenty of extra buttons (I have the left two bound to melee attack & secondary attack and on of the right bound to a slide attack macro). If you're looking for a cheaper option that still has a bunch of extra customizable buttons, this might be the mouse you want.
Logitech G300s Optical Gaming Mouse (910-004360) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RH6R7C4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Pb-5ybRWF9M8R
Regularly 40
Alternatively, the 602 is $40. But I'm a cheap-o
For mice, if you're into competitive FPS, some mice similar to the M510 are the Logitech G300s, which I think is extremely similar to the M510,
and you may like the Logitech G203 or the G302 and G303
As for audio, I heard the Monoprice 8323 gives you much more bang for your buck, with great sound quality for $16. $30 Huge Bass, AKG K81DJ.
I would rather get something with better clarity though, such as the Samson SR850
Not that hard. Just looking around amazon gives you
Keyboards are hard, as most "gaming" keyboards cost over a hundred dollars these days, with the use of mechanical switches. I'm only showing you these because they have macro switches, like you want.
Logitech G105 is a great memebrane keyboard, and I'm sure it'll last you a long time.
Oops, previous comment got removed because I copy-pasta'd the amazon links after getting to them via PC Part Picker (curse you, referral links!). Reposting. :)
Story: Husband wants a new mouse. Birthday is coming up in a couple weeks. My mom needs a gift idea. I need to send her a mouse he would want.
Between these two, which would you pick? (competitive Overwatch use mostly) Alternatively, would you have another suggestion that's better than these? I love my mouse, but my husband says it has too many buttons for him (as if there's such a thing as too many buttons!).
This pretty much covers the range for budget ($25 on the low end, $50 pushing the top).

Not a "pro fps" level sensor, but it's good enough for most games and has lots of buttons
There's the Logitech G300, but I wouldn't say it has 'minimal buttons'.
I was looking at getting the Logitech G300s for around $30, I've decided that I can deal with my keyboard for now and it would be worth it to get a better mouse.
There are tons of Black Friday deals for mice right now, and the mid-range Logitech G-series ones are a pretty good value. Wired, good sensors, and they'll last forever. You can hit /r/buildapcsales and filter by mouse.
Here are a couple options that might be in your price range.
Drop overclocking. An i5 6500, its stock cooler and an H110 motherboard will save you at least $150, and the performance hit is negligible in 95% of modern titles. You'll lose longevity though.
Ditch Razer products. You can get a good mechanical keyboard for less than $100 these days, and there's no excuse for the DeathAdder being $50 when the Logitech G300s isn't even $30.
The Artemis is hideously overpriced - and this is coming from a Logitech fanboy. Ditch it and get the Corsair Void - it's the same 7.1 Dolby sound and the same 50mm drivers, it's just $50 cheaper.
I love Corsair's Air series, but the 540 is an expensive case. There are other, cheaper cube-form-factor ATX cases out there - the HAF XB EVO comes to mind - or you could abandon the cube form factor altogether and get something for like $50 from NZXT or Corsair themselves.
Not sure how helpful this is, but Best Buy is selling Logitech G300s via eBay for $20 + free shipping. Probably only just for today.
Link to Amazon for more pictures and user reviews.
Seems pretty solid, especially for price. Smaller mouse. Seems like the arch is not as pronounced as your Zowie, but you would probably be the better judge on that.
I enjoy my Steelseries Rival 100 which is super cheap. I'm sure there's plenty of other options though, but here's some if you don't want to look.
I play lefty, assign all my keys to the numpad numbers.
I use this mouse and enjoy it: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G300s-Optical-Gaming-910-004360/dp/B00RH6R7C4/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1435621162&sr=8-13&keywords=logitech+mouse
I've been looking for a mouse for awhile. Narrowed my search down to these three. Logitech 300, Anker, Sentey revolution.
I'm in the same boat as you brother. I saw two ambidextrous mice listed (G300S & G100s), but they don't seem as fancy as their right-handed bretheren. Specially no that G100s...that doesn't even look like a gaming mouse. XD
http://gaming.logitech.com/en-us/gaming-mice
EDIT Apparently, it's not even on sale :(
Don't Rook too long, these prices might not last.

my favorite is logitech 300s since its cheap and has 4 macro buttons
Have you given a thought to claw gripping? It could work for someone with big hands. I use the G300s, it has a good amount of buttons and is ambidextrous.
