Bought these for my younger brother. They feel pretty flimsy and cheap. Audio is fine but he says when using discord people on the other end can hear a beeping noise when he speaks. I’d invest in these Logitechs instead, also on sale. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MRMHML9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_dlC_jUCVFbJTQJ2V6

It’s got surround sound, an adjustable mic, comfortable pads, and is compatible with Playstation and XBOX, as well having Logitech software capabilities to PC.
Kid won’t have to replace his headset for the next 5 years guaranteed
Personally, I prefer headphones over earbuds from a comfort/hygeine/sound quality perspective. Comfortwise, no earbuds fit my ears properly and those that are close get uncomfortable after around 30 minutes. Hygeine wise, it is much easier to prevent bacteria buildup in a properly fitted set of ear covering headphones than ones that go in your ear (where moisture builds up on them). Sound quality wise I prefer headphones as the ones I get tend to have better bass than any earbuds I have purchased. Then again, because of the top 2 reasons I rarely get earbuds. Have some athletic ones with removable pieces for rhe gym but that's it.
As for what kind, standard Bluetooth headphones will not work on the Playstation. If you want wireless you will need one that uses a dongle and plug it into one of the USB slots of the console.
For wired, if you don't care about having a microphone any wired set will work as you can plug them into the controller and therefore be "wireless". The sound quality that way is acceptable but you don't have access to a microphone that way. If a microphone is required you will need a USB headset that plugs into the console itself.
Personally, it isn't the best but I use a set of Logitech G430 for both my computer and PS4/5. It works just fine and is nothing too expensive or fancy.
The cheap oh headset are okay if you don't beat on them and they aren't much more expensive than the buds you have been buying. They have excellent sound quality and mic quality along with virtual 7.1 https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07MRMHML9/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_GZERKS3G2GA9ZKVDP1X5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

On sale for $39.99 US
Originally $79.99
Budget - Max $200 USD, I'm flexible going a tiny bit over, of course.
Source - My PC, ASRock Z390 Pro4 motherboard
Requirements for Isolation - I'm neutral on this
Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - Nope
Preferred Type of Headphone - Overears (I think they're called full-sized?)
Preferred tonal balance - I'm not enough of an audiophile to answer this question, so I guess balance is the most important for me aha
Preferred Music - Man I don't even know. I like rock and pop and anime music and orchestra and musicals and video game music. I like basically everything
What would you like to improve on from your set-up - I want more comfort, good sound, and would really really like it if the head phones could be pink and cute. It's been so hard finding pink head phones that aren't just low quality "gamer girl" cash grabs. While them pink isn't a deal-breaker, it is something I'd very much like to find.
As long as it doesn't need to be wireless, I've been quite happy with my logitech G432 and is selling on Amazon for $39 right now.
