It's a beautiful looking mouse. I've been using a cheap ass one for a long time now but years ago I had one of the Logitech gaming mice with a weight plate under the battery cover and I loved the hell out of it until it quit working.

Edit - it was the Logitech G5 I had, damn do I miss it! They are $160 on Amazon 🤣 released in 2001

Logitech original G5 gaming mouse. Textured grip. Adjustable weights. Woven cable. Quick speed adjust and two side keys. It was the most ergonomic option. The pinnacle.

I really like my Logitech G5 but it is dying now so I'm in need of replacement. Which Logitech mouse is the closest in shape and function to the G5?

Looking to replace my old Logitech G5 Laser mouse, the sensor in it is on its way out and it never was that fantastic to begin with.

• Games you'll be playing (primarily): FPS (CS:GO, Overwatch,L4D/2,etc), RTS (Rise of Nations)
• Right, left, or ambidextrous handed: Right handed
• Budget (with currency/location): $80, (dollars/US)
• Hand size (length in centimeters): Not sure how to measure this, my hand is fairly large, for reference my current mouse is a Logitech G5 Laser Mouse and it pretty much fits my hand perfectly. My finger end just at the end of the clickers.
• Preferred grip type: Palm, I don't pay much attention to it when I play games so I might switch to fingertips occasionally without realizing it.
• Weight preference (heavy or light mice? Low or high DPI gamer?): As I mentioned currently have the Logitech G5 which has a weight system, but I never used it so I've been using its default weight. I've been told low DPI is better for games like CS, but I've been playing at 800 DPI because I felt lower was to slow, but also because I have a small mouse pad which I am also looking to replace with something larger, so hopefully I can use a lower DPI once I get this new mouse and pad.

I'd like something that has a good quality sensor in it and fits my hand nicely. I have two side buttons on my mouse currently and I only really use one for a mic button so I could live without two, one would be nice, none I can deal with. Also if someone can recommend a good budget mouse pad I would appreciate it.

I used the Logitech G5 daily for at least 5-6 years until finally the sharp edge of my desk cut open the protective mesh on the cord. Still works fine. Best mouse in the world, as far as I'm concerned.

I always thought the G5s had the perfect amount / placement of buttons. Had mine for over three years and still haven't been tempted by anything new on the market.
