I know you said you hate them but have you tried a logitech g300? I have one and the buttons are on the top of the mouse on the sides and middle. It's very comfortable and I haven't had any problems hitting buttons accidently when lifting the mouse.

I'm using claw grip as well and I'm playing with the orignial Logitech G300. I absolutly love it because it fits my hands perfectly and has six customizable G-Buttons.

Logitech G300. Its the mouse I've been using for about 3 years (although 1 of those years was spent in a shoe, you can thank my sister for that one). Has 6 assignable buttons and 3 switchable profiles. It is super ergonomic and I can use it for hours at a time with out my hand getting tired. You can buy it here
