Yeah, the middle mouse button on the MX500 is useless. I ended up remapping orbit to a thumb button because of it. Now I can't work any other way.
Have you considered a used MX Revolution? You really can't beat those things.
I got lucky and bought three of them for a dollar apiece at an estate sale. They had no idea what they had.
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Revolution-Cordless-Laser-Mouse/dp/B000HCT12O not sure why the mouse says $400 on amazon, probably because they don't make it anymore. I bought it for around $100 some years back. Anyways the charger is slightly finicky but It always works, sometime you just have to reseat the mouse once or twice. I remember a while ago I cleaned the contacts and it worked great I'm sure that's all it needs. I can't sell the monitor just yet actually. My buddy's that he uses when he's over here broke today so I'll be letting him use this one.
logitech mx revolution I didn't actually pay 400 it was about 50 or 100 when I got it. Needless to say one of my fukin ass siblings took the battery out and no one admitted to talking it so I'm forced to keep it plugged in
Hell even my mx revolution can side scroll and freewheel at command. Had this thing for years not the best in the world but I love her. Comfort decent DPI and more buttons then I know what to do with only thing I require now is weight control.
mx revolution been using this bad boy for around 5-6 years was my very first gaming mouse. Still runs like day one and now the buttons have nice little grooves worked into the plastic for my fingers to rest on. Feet pads still got about 10 cm before their completely gone
the original mx: the revolution
one that i apparently should have sent into FBA instead of eBay:
Nothing's as good as a Logitech MX Revolution
This is what you want. You will never want or need another mouse in your life.
Newegg used to sell it for around $89 but is no longer active. I'm sure you can find it somewhere for cheaper than what Amazon has it for.
I disagree, sir. I wouldn't trade my MX Revolution for any mouse I've seen.
