I haven't been this happy about a purchase in a long time. It's very sturdy and the light/visibility is exactly what I wanted. And the footprint is big enough that he should have plenty of room even once he's fully grown. Do you think he could carry the cat on his back? Here’s a backpack I would buy for him but not sure. Let me know!
Yeah, they really enjoyed it. We have a pretty adventurous bunch of boys though. We put the carrier on a table, and just let them explore at their leisure. Once they realized we were there (we did arm bridges), they went bananas. The pet carrier
Hi! I use this carrier for my girl who’s currently about 19” long and it’s perfect. Has a rigid bottom, easy to clean and I can clip her leash/harness to the inside for extra security. Great for the car, the park/short hikes and vet visits!
Yeah of course! Totally a fair question. I use this one, which is originally made for cats but works great to take my lady one walks as well, cause I can clip her leash to the inside and roll the little window down :)
This one found on Amazon:

I would say to carry him through the apartment instead of having him walk, whether that be in your arms or some sort of cat-transport, whichever he’d like better. Then put him down and have him walk once you actually get outside; if he’s skittish about that at first too, do the same thing and simply carry him around for a bit to get used to it.
As I said you can carry him whatever way works best, but if you have the money I’ve seen a lot of people recently using these cat-carrying backpacks. Something like one of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V96696H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_4F36EP5Z1GD4W0FRW8EH
No matter what you end up doing, I wish you the best of luck! I constantly look forward to the day I’ll be able to harness train my own adventure friend. 🙂

I found this one to be really nice since it's meant to carry 10-14lbs of cat and handles mixed forages well. It can handle heavy fruits, antler, and rocks without crushing anything you put on the top. It's also mesh and non-crushing for mushrooms. I also have some mesh laundry bags to keep things organized in the backpack itself. They fit great in the little side pockets.
I take mine out in one like this
He loves it!
Thought I included a link to the backpack. Lol
Here it is
