The Honda community has been dealing with mice eating our car's wiring for a few years now. Some folks have had good luck with ultrasonic noise makers like this.
I have one under each axle on the floor of my garage. So far, so good. The batteries usually last about 90 days. And they'll 'bleep' when the batteries need to be replaced.
