You might be interested in Lucifer’s Hammer by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. It’s a great novel that recounts the downfall and gradual rebuilding of civilization following an asteroid strike. It’s a bit older, but still holds up well.
In the totally awesome story, Lucifer's Hammer (Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle); there is a section where a surfer dude manages to ride a mile high tidal wave inland. Very descriptive. Does he survive? Read the book to find out . . .
Oh, if you like scifi books, This is one of my all time favorites. End of the world stuff done very well.
I recently read the 10 book A. American series and loved them for the same reasons, not to mention learning some new things that were tested and used by the author to make sure they worked. Currently I’m reading but almost finished with Lucifer’s Hammer because it was very popular with people that like books of a similar nature. Thank you for the recommendation as I will surely check them out.
