Certainly, depending on how thick the cable you use, you're going to either be more or less secure. Same thing goes for bikes. This is why my first suggestion was to make your own, so that you can choose the exact thickness and weight of material you want to use. A couple of cables like https://www.amazon.com/Lumintrail-Heavy-Duty-Security-Coated-Braided/dp/B07CRB5SLQ of appropriate lengths would be pretty hard to cut through in a reasonable amount of time.
No lock is perfect. Every cable can be cut, every shackle can be angle grindered, every keyhole can be picked. The key is to pick the appropriate amount of deterrent so that your stuff isn't worth trying to get anymore.
