I got this. You’ll need a heat gun or at minimum a hair dryer.

I wrapped it with something like this https://www.amazon.com/LZLRUN-Carbon-Fiber-Vinyl-Wrap/dp/B007OXCIB0/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=Carbon+Fiber+Wrap&qid=1635250364&sr=8-4 and a hair dryer. I don't have sweaty hands but I can feel the grip now. Cheers!
My buddy actually bought it and mentioned it to me, but I’m sure he just bought some off Amazon.
This one has a decent rating:

Its not actually paint. I just said the whole paint job thing because its something my dad used to say about looking at a car afer accident repairs. Its vinyl wrap this is the Amazon link
It was someone else's board. He removed the bezel, cut down the plastic till it met the base plate, and then used carbon fiber vinyl to hide the sharp edge.
edit: OP is /u/papperjunkie
>I removed all the screws. (I hadn't had to, but I did not realized till after.) Then the two metal pieces were fairly easy to remove. After that, I used my Dremel and sawed off the extra plastic edge, put everything back together, and stick vinyl (it's designed to cover car parts) on to cover the saw mark (I was too lazy to polish it and I like the carbon fiber vinyl more than the original plastic anyways.)
Here's the stuff I bought originally but it needs to be much wider and at least 7ft long to do the door trim properly

I actually wrapped that, the shifter boot trim, the interior door panel trim and the ac trim with this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007OXCIB0?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Matches the stock carbon wrapped dash trim well.
Found this video how to remove the door:

I am worried about the plastic clips breaking if I pull the door out...
I placed this over top of it...

Since it is a Gen 1 cab it had no plexiglass and the paint was rubbing off within the week. It was already worn as it was from the prior owners...

And with the vinyl...
Got it off Amazon for $8. Easily enough wrap to cover a car hood and when you put it on, It dosent come off. And also no air bubbles too: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007OXCIB0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_7CACPHS2HEN9T9ZX1Z08?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks! I was surprised how good it came out. And this carbon vinyl does look pretty damn good, even with real carbon other places in the car it still looks appropriate. I used this one from Amazon. Super cheap and came with everything I needed. Did the steering wheel trim and have plenty left for other things.
Thanks for the inspiration. I ended up getting some vinyl wrap to do the same, so far I like it. Still not super grippy, but better than the metallic back.
i've had it laying around forever but i think it was this stuff https://www.amazon.com/LZLRUN-Carbon-Fiber-Vinyl-Wrap/dp/B007OXCIB0/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=carbon+fiber+vinyl+wrap&qid=1596166602&sprefix=carbon+fiber+v&sr=8-3

I got sick of dealing with keeping my copper mod clean so I wrapped it with this stuff
Https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007OXCIB0/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_AeJHub1J9PN7V
Came out pretty nice

Though sanding and a clear coat is a good way to go if you like the copper look.
That sounds like a ton of hassle to verify authenticity. And knowing the capacity matches what it should doesn't necessarily mean it's legit. Would be more reasonable to buy from a trusted seller and learn what to look for to spot fakes. This should help

No idea on your last question, you'll have to do some research to find what kinda amp limit it has.
