This is not advised. Pistol optic need to be stronger to withhold the recoil since the slide moves fast when firing and creates a lot of inertia. When shooting on an at they arnt whipping back and forth on a slide. So to answer you question, yes but you really shouldn’t
the only caniks that come optic ready are the sfx and the elite combat, and elite sc. you would have to have the slide milled to accommodate a plate, then could probably use a plate from any of those other 3 models.
edit: you could do something silly, and put one of these Mako Universal Picatinny Rail Mount Fits Most Pistols on
Mako Universal Picatinny Rail Mount might handle the RMR, looks like some people have had trouble with it shaking loose under recoil. Bonus: it would probably add enough clearance for the TLR-1HL and Osprey to co-exist.
I apologise for the incoming wall of text but hopefully it's helpful. Disclaimer that I'm not any kind of firearms professional, just a vet med student that really likes handguns so take any information/opinion I give you with a grain of salt.
>Are the sights you wanted to put on not compatable with the factory milled slides?
Correct. The factory milled p320 slides come in a few different hole patterns but none of them are immediately compatible with the RMR footprint (the pattern of the physical cut and holes drilled in order to attach the optic directly to the slide) from the factory. The middle right in that picture is after remilling. There are a few ways you can get around this including optic plates (which I'm personally hesitant to use on a gun that my life may depend on), remilling (drilling in the proper hole pattern for the RMR or Holosun, this is the way i would have gone had I had a factory milled slide), or even rail mounted optics plates (once again, kind of a range toy only use IMO).
> is there a problem with factory rear sights built into the optics plate?
That depends on your use case and the optic you decide to go with. If you're never going to put a dot on, no they should be just fine unless the screws holding the plate in start to back out. If you do put a dot on, don't want back up iron sights, and trust that your dot will run 100% of the time no matter what or just don't care, there's no issue with it. Personally if it's a gun i'm going to use for self defense or competition I want some way to shoot the gun with some degree of accuracy that's not just point shooting. RMRs, Aimpoint Acros, and Holosuns (to some extent) are tough as shit, but anything can break and even great companies toss out a lemon every now and then. Leupold sells a rear sight that fits onto the DPP to circumvent that issue. There are also optics plates with rear sight dovetails milled in or even full rear sights milled in. Since I opted to have a virgin slide (optics wise) milled directly, If I want backup iron sights, I needed to purchase suppressor height sights and have them installed.
And.. Mount a scope atop?

OK.. I don't think that I have been much of a revolver fan.. Until THIS! This is absolutely amazing, gorgeous and the low bore WITH a picatinny?! I can see this being added.. JUST sayin!

This!!!!! It's easy enough to get a rms to picatinny adapter.. You don't need a holster, anyways! It's been in my cart for my build! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004O6CDV0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_TT0ZNDAC10KGY88NMMHP
I can't specifically recommend this, but it does exist: https://www.amazon.com/Mako-Universal-Picatinny-Mount-Pistols/dp/B004O6CDV0/ref=pd\_lpo\_200\_t\_1/144-3142915-6011248
I dead ass stopped reading at AR upper... However: yes there is a mod for that.

Worries me that I've never seen anyone with this but seems a really easy way to fix an expensive problem lol
You could also try a magnetic holster, or something like this and use a belt clip. (That one obviously wont work but the concept seems sound in my head.)
yep, use something like this...

I've been thinking about this too and the closest model I can think of would be the M6c SOCOM from ODST. All you would really need is a shroud or crazy compensator and a handguard.
I would think something similar to this upside down (just to cover up the sides): https://www.amazon.com/Mako-Universal-Picatinny-Mount-Pistols/dp/B004O6CDV0?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_dls_failed
Or, if you're willing to get NFA, a shorter silencer than this: http://fd-silencer.at/en/
If you search around aliexpress, you'll probably find a lot of this stuff for 'airsoft' that is a little more robust than 3d printed parts

These are an option also if you dont mind ugly
There is a weird Picatinny universal rail mount that comes diagonal from the front back towards the center. Section of the slide. Can’t say its any good or not but it exists.
Here's a threaded barrel I found. You might be SOL on the Red Dot unless you get a generic rail mounted system. Something like this. I've never tried this one, or any universal mount though.
Also worth noting, as others have stated, it's probably not a good idea to sink too much money into this pistol. I've seen a few people swear their 5-7 has lasted forever, but an overwhelming majority say it'll just fall apart regardless of how much you baby it.
Granted you got a decent price for it. If it breaks, I'd suggest selling it for parts.
