The cookbook for that technique is called Manifold Destiny. Originally published 1989, more or less as a comedy book, but plenty of people have found it to be successful; not sure useful it is in general, for those of us who aren't at least medium-hall truckers of delivery drivers

You can definitely cook on your engine, I did it many times. Check the manifold destiny cookbook for recipes and inspiration. . Good cooking!
