Use this stand for putting a marching drum on, it is strong as hell, pretty heavy, and feels like a tank and is the perfect height for putting a snare drum on while standing. It is practice pad height for maybe a younger, smaller person but I don't use it for that purpose. I also like that it is adjustable so that your drum can go at ANY angle you need to
