i got it from amazon, pretty cheap at $6. Minimum order is 2 for whatever reason.. but its so cheap and it'll last me a while as I'm just throwing cuttings in them. It was more pricy for the bonsai jack lava rock and the pumice, I've got a lot less of it left over than the zeolite after mixing equal parts into some tupperware lol
That makes sense. Is the type of zeolite you use something like this? Also, what are the approximate ratios of zeolite to lava rock and pumice in your mix? Cheers!
Yes! I have made my own mix and it’s doing very well. I skipped the fertilizer since lechuza states it is depleted after six months. I just water my plants in the mix using my regular semi hydro nutrient water. I do 1/3 of each. I got the pumice and lava rock from bonsai jack and the zeolites from Amazon.

Edited to add links.
Zeolite crystals apparently absorb ammonia. I added some to the litter, as well as some in the drawer, and found they helped with the urine smell. I got these.
I read a tip to try zeolite crystals, since they absorb ammonia, and are an ingredient in some pet odor absorbers (second link).
I pour some into the litter in the globe, and have some in the drawer as well. They seemed to help with the ammonia smell. And I had just washed the unit a week or two earlier, so it should have been starting out OK. Could be worth a try.
