These should help in your situation. I haven’t used these exact ones, but I’ve used some very similar straps with excellent results and no more headaches from pulling on my ears.
I would argue it's quite literally the opposite, given the states that ban mask mandates in school appear to be the ones that are literally setting the highest hospitalization records for children. (Local Newspaper for Daytona Beach, Florida)
Children are as at risk for covid at the same amount as adults. While the virus technically doesn't harm them as much as the elderly, it still harms them physically and psychologically. Imagine how terrifying it is for a child to be in the ICU and intubed. The virus doesn't ignore your age, it targets everyone.
But you are correct that children have difficulty wearing adult size masks and doing so makes them less effective. But smaller masks also exist and [special straps](https://www.amazon.com/Mask-Extender-Strap-Adjustment-Flexibility/dp/B08DXTTKVD/) that allows you to wear the mark around your face similar to swimming goggles also exist. I know many adult female friends with small faces that utilize such a strap to make the adult masks comfortably.
I am not going to argue about "a ton of literature on the importance of children seeing faces of adults". It's very likely true, but given the circumstances it's worth the sacrifice. Especially given we are literally seeing Florida teachers dying from COVID practically everyday at this point.
What do you think is much more traumatic to a 5 year-old kindergardener? Everyone wearing a face covering of some type, or finding out their teacher died?
