Average at best. For headset get a good stereo pair with a good mic with no marketing gimmick.

Sennheiser PC37x for $75.99 before the 20% discount. Open back wired headset with microphone
Sennheiser is the best. No questions. Sound improves with use. I want to replace gsp350s with this
Dude honest to god, the PC37X is actually a very good open back for the price. I know people have a stigma against products from YouTube ads, but they are seriously good for $130.00.
My advice is to avoid anything that's wireless, you'll get poorer audio quality overall. You haven't suggested a budget so I'll go with what I would consider within the 'reasonable price range' for a good quality headset
great choice. you can honestly just pair it with any headphone though if you want to go for a cheaper headphone to stay within budget.
Otherwise a good all in one option that's a bit over budget (and a bit overkill) is the Sennheiser PC37x https://www.amazon.com/Massdrop-Sennheiser-PC37X-Gaming-Headset/dp/B084GFGMYT/ref=sr_1_7_sspa?keywords=sennheiser+headset+with+microphone&qid=1641457539&s=electronics&sprefix=sennheiser+headset+with+%2Celectronics%2C113&sr=1-7-spon...
The thing with this one though is that you mute the mic by flipping it upwards rather than an inline switch. Super lightweight and comfortable as they're made for gaming for long hours too
I've never had to use an EQ curve to get a good sound, that's something that should be done out of the box, not dependent on the user. Adjusting the EQ only does so much anyways. Doesn't improve the sound quality, just tweaks/adjusts it. The main complaints are losing signal or short range, which is a deal breaker. Also bad call quality.
This is what I use, amazing quality and sound. Great microphone as well. Had them for years and still work great.

For the PC38X? Far as I know, probably yes. Last time, around the launch of the product, I saw some Drop rep said they have no plans to sell on other vendors or retailers. The PC37X however does have a listing on Amazon, sold and shipped by Amazon.
IMO on sound alone they are inferior at any price.
But regardless, you can get a much better experience from the PC37X for just $20/$30 more than the 9600/mic combo

dang, even better.

$70-20%
There are lots of great options for $50-$100 that are just fine for 90% of people out there. If you like closed back headphones the hyper x cloud, cloud 2, or cloud alphas are pretty good and available on Amazon for around $50-$60
The Sennheiser PC37x is open back and is only $84 right now.
Hardware Canucks have some good reviews on "cheaper" headsets.
From an owner and still daily user of 5 year old OG Sennheiser Game One's, I highly recommend them. I use them nearly daily for hours on end for gaming, music, and movies/tv shows/youtube over the last 5 years. In 2017 I believe they costed me $200. For all the Game One's offer, this made them clear choice for someone who loves to game but also loves music and movies. The Game One's do it all and do it all EXCEPTIONALLY well!!! Important to note that I have never used mine with any sort of amplifier or DAC either. Always use them directly plugged in to the headphone jack on my computer.
I wanted a second pair of these for my father, but was upset to find they are now called the Massdrop x Sennheiser PC370X, or the EPOS | Sennheiser Game One. I decided to go with the PC370X's, but was skeptical if the build/audio/mic quality. I'm pleased to say that there is absolutely no difference between the two other than the color scheme, branding, and the shape/material of the vented outer body covers. I tried them back to back for nearly 2 days, everything was exactly as expected and handed them off to my father who has loved them for the last 6 months. (provided Amazon links to both below, both currently on sale for $99.
Pro's - Extremely comfortable, Beautiful sound stage (especially for gaming/movies), Top shelf audio quality, Great headset boom microphone with a tactile "click" to mute/un-mute the microphone when you put the microphone up/down. On the long-term support side, Sennheiser sells OEM replacement ear cups and headset cables on Amazon if you ever need them. Over 5 years, I have never needed to replace anything on mine. All pads and cable are original from out of the box. To me, it's great to know that Sennheiser doesn't force their customers to have to go to some low-quality cheap knock-offs for replacements.
The only con - Unable to find a OEM Sennehsier headband pad replacement. (There is nothing wrong with my 5 year old one, I just want a new one to have incased anything does happen to the existing one).
Before you buy anything though, an important thing to know is that you can also purchase the Mass Drop x Sennheiser PC38x right now for only $139!!! If I were in the market to purchase a new set of heaphones/headset I would absolutely purchase these!! There's plenty of youtube reviewers who go into detail about the differences, but the most important thing to know is that they now use a very thin mesh and dense foam to create the same open-back sound stage of the Game One's, but improved bass response thanks to the foam. I've heard nothing but good things about them and If I ever need to replace/update my Game One's, I already know i'm purchasing the PC38X's.

Hope this helps!
>second one is out of my budget its gonna be like $300 after shipping and taxes
Try these. They're $60 CAD less.
This video should help you decide. Particularly the 10:17 to 10:41 mark.
Look into better headphones, not necessarily designed for gaming. Something like Sennheiser PC37X is a great headset and blows the competition away at $130.
Assuming that you do, in fact, mean a headset and not headphones, and without knowing your preference on open vs closed back, I would get this
https://www.amazon.com/Massdrop-Sennheiser-PC37X-Gaming-Headset/dp/B084GFGMYT/
I really liked the PC37X when I actually used a headset. I'd rather go with a hi-fi audio company like Sennheiser over the usual gamer brands.
2comments before you said 50-150 and this headset is 120-140 so wheres the problem and where did u get the 200 from
or

any thoughts on these?
Fantastic headset, especially considering the price.
I recommend the Massdrop x Sennheiser PC37X for $130 on Amazon and $120 on Drop's website. They're open back meaning you can locate where sounds (like footsteps) come from really well. The down side of open back headphones is that they leak sound so and noise coming from you room is not reduced. I can personally vouch for their comfort with glasses after 2 days of breaking in.
There's also the updated version, the PC38X for $180 on Amazon and $169 on Drop. It has better sound that arguably justifies the price increase, and it's otherwise the same headset. I chose the PC37X over the PC38X, because of looks and price.
If you order thru Drop message me and I can give a referral link to make an account. It gives $10 to you AND ME.
Sennheiser makes good gaming headsets that don't break the bank. Quality sound and mics.
Something like this.
Good afternoon. I hope all is well. I need help with my headphones and external DAC.
Headphones - https://www.amazon.com/Massdrop-Sennheiser-PC37X-Gaming-Headset/dp/B084GFGMYT
Headphone Splitter - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IM36VU0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
DAC - https://www.schiit.com/products/hel-2
Whenever I fully insert the headphones into the splitter, I am getting static noises and the volume gets low. When I insert the microphone (the pink one) into the jack halfway, it goes back to normal. How do I get full sound with sound?
Can somebody help me?
If you want the best gaming headset possible the PC38x is the golden standard. It’s little brother, PC37x is also a great, very similar option and is cheaper. The highlights of these headphones is they have great sound imaging (you can easily tell which direction the sound is coming from) and they have the best attached headset microphone that I’ve ever heard.
My recommendation for the best overall gaming setup at your price is a pair of AudioTechnica M40x’s and a Razer Siren Mini microphone. The M40x is a very solid headphone it is only $70 and has a very accurate high quality sound.
You can also substitute the Status Audio CB1 for the M40x’s. They sound incredible for the price but they break easily.
If you want wireless you can use the Sennheiser 4.40 BT in place of the M40x.
With an explicitly built in mic your only open back options under $200CAD and available right now are pretty much the PC37X, and Sennheiser G4ME ONE.
Your only other options are regular open backs with a detachable 3.5mm so you can use a v-moda boompro or equivalent.
I was pretty close to going down the 7.1 surround sound gaming headset rabbit hole. It's just that... a rabbit hole.
All games are coded so that basic stereo headsets will let you hear all the directionality you need. Footsteps behind you to the left? Check. In front and above? Check.
The 7.1 stuff just doesn't translate well to stereo headsets. Extra software is needed, often delays input, and it's just a rendering gimmick that doesn't give you any edge. Because again, stereo headsets let you hear directionality.
I play with these and they are wonderful: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084GFGMYT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
How do these fare? I got recommended this a long time ago.
I meant the Sennheiser PC37X!! My bad.
