Thanks for the support! Another user on here actually said that they found the lock I was trying to be rather hard, so I actually ordered a new one yesterday: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004SQL7?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
I think the most important thing having some fresh, quality locks. If you have been picking the same locks over and over again, the pins will actually start to wear down and the locks won’t be as responsive as fresh, new locks would be. I would suggest spending maybe $25 on four or five new locks from Amazon. I would suggest the MasterLock 140 and the Abus 55/40.
I would also recommend a practice lock that you can repin, either one you make yourself or one of these. You can start with one pin, then two, then three, etc.
Here is my usual copy-paste advice regarding lock-picking tools. Step 1 (below) will get you opening locks for VERY cheap (about $7 plus’s shipping). Getting step 1 & 2, will give you a little more to work with, while still being inexpensive (around $17 plus shipping). Steps 1, 2, & 3 will get you into nearly any pin tumbler lock (other than dimple locks) for around $35-43 plus shipping.
Step 1 (get started as cheap as possible)

If you want to get some locks to go along with picks, I’d probably try to get something like:
Master 140
Master 410 LOTO
Any of your deadbolts at home depot/lowes are just going to be yellow belt locks, and you are spending alot more money for the door hardware, than the actual lock. So you are paying for the mounting hardware, deadbolt, strike plate and maybe even handle.
You could get a couple of starter locks on amazon and not pay for shipping. These total to 37.81 which should get you free shipping on amazon, i think they raised the number to $35 of prime items.

If I where you I'd try out a master lock 140 to step it up a bit. In comparison to the #3 they feel a lot better and give you better response in my opinion. Master 140
Master 140, not 104. :) Here is a 140
