I use Mediasonic Homeworx and HD antenna with a flash drive (they recommend HDD but i dont have any issues).
The mediasonic boxes are usually recommended. There's also several you can get at Walmart, one by RCA is pretty much the same as the mediasonic one and they tend to hover around $30 to $40. You program them sort of like a VCR where you can chose the start and end time and days to record. Pretty simple stuff once setup. Here's a link to one of them on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EW098XS/?coliid=I16D7BDV7MSG1S
Cheapest way is going to be something like the Walmart ONN ota DVR or the MediaSonic at $30

I haven't tried these so read the reviews. People complain about the remotes and the UI. But they do give you the 1 to 3 day PSIP guide and pause/play operation as well as a DVR.
A digital TV converter box. like https://www.amazon.com/Mediasonic-HOMEWORX-HW130STB-Converter-Recording/dp/B01EW098XS
Or fish around your local Goodwill - everyone had one when DTV came out (the government basically paid for them) and there’s lots out there. Be sure to get the matching remote.
You need a tuner. One of these will do the job for you inexpensively.
You mean a digital converter box? I assume you're trying to watch antenna tv on your CRT. But since the conversion years ago analog signals have been shut off for over the air tv. One of these will let you use a digital antenna to the box and output to your analog tv. For example
Channel Master is a good name but I’ve found the product lacking lately. Last receiver I bought from them was over $300 (was for our living room). Had a bedroom I wanted to be OTA so I found a Mediasonic box on Amazon for around $30. Picks up more stations than the Channel Master, hooked to the same roof mount antenna, booster and splitter. When we finished my daughters basement I put that same Mediasonic in there and it works great.
Edit: A newer model but very similar
I believe you are possibly asking for an external TV tuner box with HDMI output. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Mediasonic-HOMEWORX-HW130STB-Converter-Recording/dp/B01EW098XS/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=tv+tuner&qid=1619223911&sr=8-3
I haven’t tried any of those, so take a look at reviews first.
An antenna + Amazon Firestick + Amazon Recast if you can find them in stock. All your streaming services plus OTA in 1 device.
Otherwise Apple TV/Chromecast/Firestick + antenna plus OTA DVR https://www.amazon.ca/Mediasonic-HOMEWORX-HW130STB-Converter-Recording/dp/B01EW098XS/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=recast+dvr+amazon&qid=1613331736&sprefix=recast&sr=8-2
I suppose a "digital to analog converter with a TV tuner" would have been the more precise terminology, but you can still pick up a $30 device like this one
Mediasonic ATSC Digital Converter Box with Recording / Media Player / TV Tuner Function (HW130STB)
Though I can't speak for any lag it might introduce.
A digital to analog converter box. I did some digging and this is the most recommended one. I really like it except for the fact that I have to use another remote to use it. It comes with one but no batteries and it also comes with all the hookups except coax
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EW098XS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_LLWrFb3S2X6MJ
For the antenna I strongly recommend contacting Antenna Man on YouTube or Facebook. For $20 bucks he'll find you the best antennas for your area and give you instructions how to set it up based on your area. He is extremely detailed and there are so many phony antenna companies that sell pure junk. Winegard is like the best antenna company or clearatream
Def get a cheap ota tuner with HDMI output ($30 at Amazon) and a cheap antenna, unless you are not in the USA. Or pick up a fire stick and run it steaming to the projector. Fox sports is streaming free to people on their app
first hit on Amazon -- no idea if there are better or cheaper.
Mediasonic ATSC Digital Converter Box with Recording / Media Player / TV Tuner Function (HW130STB)
https://www.amazon.com/Mediasonic-HOMEWORX-HW130STB-Converter-Recording/dp/B01EW098XS
I'm assuming you're in Dorm Room or some kind of similar situation and there actually is an active raw signal coming from the port.(If not you will need to contact the cable company in your area and likely get their proprietary box as others have mentioned.)
You will need a cheap digital tuner box to pick up the channels and interpret them. Here is a link to a basic one with HDMI out(which even functions like a tivo if you add USB storage to it). https://www.amazon.com/Mediasonic-HOMEWORX-HW130STB-Converter-Recording/dp/B01EW098XS/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=digital+tuner&link_code=qs&qid=1556770307&s=gateway&sourceid=Mozilla-search&sr=8-7
That TV doesn't have a tuner. Also you can't convert coax into HDMI, you need a digital tuner box if and the coax would plug into that. You can get a box like this one to accomplish this.
The converters are for running hdmi over coax. I am not shocked that everything is mad cause it's probably getting weird signals.
Does that all make sense?
Some Vizio sets do not have tuners. I have two E series that do not have tuners.
You need an external tuner with HDMI output. https://www.amazon.com/Mediasonic-HOMEWORX-HW130STB-Converter-Recording/dp/B01EW098XS/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ATSC+Tuner&qid=1600663658&sr=8-3
I have used a Tivo and currently use a HDHomerun and Plex for OTA TV.
Coaxial ports are basically antenna ports (TV ports) for devices that have a built-in tuner.
You need a tuner (antenna to HDMI) box like https://www.amazon.com/Mediasonic-HOMEWORX-HW130STB-Converter-Recording/dp/B01EW098XS
If you looking for over the air antenna you need this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EW098XS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_rde1FbFECG07S
You need a digital to analog converter if you are trying to hook up something else.
I think this is the sort of thing you need.

Cheapest option to record from an antenna
If you want to record local channels, just get one of these. It's really like a modern day VCR and it works great for the price.
I have one of these on each TV ... along with a ssd attached ... turns it into a DVR with time shifting (pause, rewind, ff)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EW098XS?ref=exp_antennaman_dp_vv_d
I use one of these ... attached an old harddrive to it and it's also a DVR ...
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EW098XS?ref=exp_antennaman_dp_vv_d
So I have the antenna already. Something like this would work?
Hello LanceFree,
I’m not really a Drew Barrymore fan, but your post, and an ad a few minutes ago on my local FOX affiliate, intrigued me.
Turns out her show is from CBS Distribution, and this won’t be exclusively on CBS stations.
The show’s website lists which station in each TV market will have it, via the Where to Watch button:
https://www.thedrewbarrymoreshow.com
For me, it’s confirming what I caught in this evening’s brief ad—it’ll be on my FOX station. But the next market over will have it on the NBC affiliate.
Thus, I’m unclear if it’ll end up being available via CBS All Access. It may—I just don’t know.
You mention you have no DVR: If you can get the proper TV station for the show via an antenna, you could purchase one of these simple DVRs to record at the proper time each weekday:

Good luck & Cheers! ~~ Statmanmi
You’ll need a converter box. This one is “Amazon’s Choice”
Mediasonic HOMEWORX HW130STB HDTV Digital Converter Box with Recording and Media Player Function https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EW098XS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_RmJXBbQ6EVYQ2

I bought one of these for my brother who has a Vizio smart tv and an antenna. Works great.
