No problem! I covered a lot of this in the OP but yes, most of the bikes I described use standard EV plugs. In the US this is known as J1772 or "J Plug". In Europe this is a Mennekes Type 2 connector. If you want to charge a bike like this off a 110v wall outlet you need to carry a small portable EVSe station with you. Here's an example of one. They'll also usually include one with the purchase of the bike.
The LiveWire has a small TurboCord that rolls up and fits under the seat for just this purpose. It's incredibly awkward to put it back under the seat and I hate it.
The Zero S and FX lines plug directly into 110 wall outlets via a C13 (computer) cable.
> the infrastructure for charging them is non-existent where I live.
If you have electricity, then you have the infrastructure to trickle-charge any electric vehicle overnight. You don't need a fancy charging station, you just need a standard household 110v outlet and plug like this one.
I mean, I know what you're saying... but this piece of the argument against electric vehicles just isn't accurate any more. The infrastructure is here, we just need to change from "charging/filling station" to "I charge my vehicle overnight while I sleep".
I bought this one. They have different versions for different outlets if you need. I got mine May of 2020 when my Chevy one busted on me, works perfectly.
I have a complaint about that one: they sell it in a version which draws 16A through a 15A plug. Any company which would do that clearly doesn't care about safety, and that makes all their products suspect for me. Have they honored isolations distances? How many mA does their leakage protection trip at? Are internal conductors big enough? Do they have a temperature sensor on the plug? Etc, etc.
Megear.
UL listing appears to be legit. First time looking up a UL listing.
If work had a level 2 EVSE you'd pretty much be driving for free. If not, you'd have to lug around a small level 1 EVSE and find a wall socket

Hi all, I bought a 2017 Prius Prime Premium last week and the charging cable was missing so they promised to get me a new one. They did but I just realised when I went to plug it in that all they got me was part 4 and not the CCID. Now, I could fight them on this but I think they might be able to say legally that they did what they said they would. Would you agree? Is it worth my going into battle on this? If not I see this one on Amazon.

What do you think? Would you say that this is an OK thing to buy? I don't want to destroy my car! It gets decent reviews.
Thanks for any help on both these questions!
