Just curious, is there a reason to look specifically at K cups? I used them for a long time, but they aren’t cheap (not much cheaper than going to McD’s or something really), and even trying a number of different brands, I never really found it to be a good cup of coffee.
I use something like this for single cups now:
Cleanup is not really any harder than a k-cup (Filter in the garbage, quick rinse), and more environmentally friendly. Filters are about .05 apiece, and you can use any coffee. You can even use the Keurig to get hot water for brewing your cup.
Maybe you had too big of a coffeemaker.
But you don't need anything big and fancy.
Or there is the aeropress.
You can boil water in a pot or microwave it.
But if you prefer instant you prefer instant.
But all you need for pour over is a mug, filter, and single cup coffee maker.. Like the Melitta
I put this and a big $22 Walmart percolator in our unit.
Groups use that, and the couples use this. Toss it in the dishwasher all done!

Personally, I prefer a pour over coffee. No electricity, and it's deeeeeeeelicious!
You can go to a dollar store and get a pour over frame something like this one and I like the reusable cotton filters (like this, but you can use any cone coffee filters). Then you can buy some preground Tim Hortons coffee. Some coffee cream (10%) and white sugar.
Boil at least 1.5 cups of water.
Put the frame over your coffee cup, put the filter into the frame, and scoop some coffee grounds into the filter. You'll need more than you think. Then pour the hot water over the coffee grounds. There are all sorts of techniques that you can do. But if you're a total noob, just pour it over. You can try the different techniques later.
Check on the amount of coffee in your cup, and pour extra water over the grounds until you have the desired amount of coffee in your cup.
Then add 2 table of cream to your coffee and 2 teaspoons of sugar, mix. And enjoy.
Not sure why we couldn't replace all k-Cups with a pour over cone and hot water dispenser.
Toss the grounds in the compost. Cheaper. Better for the environment. Done.

If it was me, for cheap, easy, simple, good coffee, here's what I'd do: 1. Get some good beans, measure what you need for the day, grind them at home & take them in an airtight container. 2. Grab a mug you like & one of these https://www.amazon.ca/Melitta-640820-Filter-Pourover-Manual/dp/B00CHILTMG/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1458515023&sr=1-1&keywords=melita+pour+over+coffee+maker 3. And something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/Sunbeam-Litre-Plastic-Kettle-Cord-Detachable/dp/B0048BPWOG/ref=sr_1_82?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1458515190&sr=1-82&keywords=kettle 4. Enjoy a good cup at work.
It's going to cost about $35 and it won't be easy to make a bad cup.
