Do you happen to know if this Nygaurd is the same as the Nyguard in the aerosol bottle? Or are they different?

We have had a couple flea infestations over the years and yeah, they can be an absolutely nightmare to get rid of. We have three dogs and two cats. We had one infestation that was really, really bad. Here's what I learned and it worked GREAT:

• First, launder everything you can. Strip your beds (including mattress pad) and wash it all. Throw rugs, bath mats, pet bedding, that blanket you leave wadded up on the couch, everything. Take it to a laundromat, use one of their big machines and you can probably wash everything you own for under $15.
• Make sure your pets are treated with Frontline so they can no longer be a source to introduce new fleas.
  
• Vacuum very thoroughly. Use the crevice tool and get along the baseboards & all the nooks & crannies.
• The thing about fleas is, you can kill the live ones all you want, but there are always eggs left behind which will hatch into new ones within a few days. The eggs are almost impossible to kill and virtually impenetrable by any pesticide spray. For this reason, you have to spray with an Insect Growth Regulator. IGR's prevent young fleas from reaching adulthood so they never become mature enough to lay new eggs.
• Get some Nyguard IGR and mix at 10ml per gallon in a pump sprayer, and go to town. I don't spray it on bedding, definitely under beds and I hit the carpets pretty good. You don't have to soak anything, just give it a light spray. ​Nyguard is safe to use around cats, but I lock mine up in a room anyway for at few hours hours so it can dry. After I let them out, I spray that room.
• Continue vacuuming every day. Every day.
• After a week, you should notice a substantial reduction. Re-apply the Nyuard IGR.
• Continue vacuuming every day.
• It took us close to two weeks before we completely stopped seeing them but this worked really well for us.

I left one thing out - Permethrin SFR. This is really effective at killing live fleas but can be toxic to cats if they ingest it at high enough concentrations, by getting it on their fur and grooming themselves. As a last resort, if the above measures don't work, you can try mixing 0.5oz per gallon either by itself or along with the Nyguard or by itself. Use sparingly, definitely don't spray areas where your cat likes to lay/nap and make sure the cat has no access to sprayed areas for at least 12 hours so it has plenty of time to dry. Our cats are mostly outdoors so this was not an issue for us.
