This is the Dehumidifier I have and I sit it in between my two tents with the bottom vents open and it works beautifully. Midea 1,500 Sq. Ft. Don't mess around with the flimsy little cheap dehumidifiers with inserts, they do pretty much nothing. My bathroom is only 60 sq feet and it didn't help - waste of money. I ended up getting this and it's been great for the last two years.
If that's too expensive for now a space heater will get you more bang for your buck than a cheap dehumidifier will.
There are two other items I found invaluable in case of a flooded-out interior. The big one is a bit expensive, but if you live in a damp climate like me (me = Florida Man™) you'll also find it very useful around the house. This is a full-sized room dehumidifier. (Here's one chosen at random off Amazon.com.) I paid about $200 for mine in a local appliance store. You'll also need a long extension cord.
I've had four Miatas since 2000, and whenever my cars have been flooded out, either because of clogged roof drains or just because I left the windows or the top down and then a thunderstorm blew in, what I've done is mop up as much water as I can with towels. Then I get some pieces of wood and put them in the passenger seat, place the dehumidifier on top of them, run the extension cord through the top edge of the window, and run it for a couple days. When I needed to use the car (e.g. to go to work) I just took the dehumidifier out and put it back in when I parked it at home. After one day it sucked out a couple of gallons of water out of the air, and my car interior will be pretty dry. After three days it's like the Sahara in there, so I have no problem with it smelling moldy inside. Plus, as I live in Florida, I run it now and again inside the house during the damp season and it really freshens up the air in here.
Aside from the one flaw of the inaccessible roof drains, my NC has been totally reliable and great fun to drive for 4 years, so don't let this annoying event sour your attitude toward your new car!
