Something a little gimmicky that I use as a bit of a last resort when I am already maxed out on meds is one of those peppermint rollerballs at the recommendation of my neuro. I usually use it in my temples and wrists (it will slightly stain so watch your sleeves). Good luck and I hope you can find some relief sooner rather than later.
If you don't normally get them, they are probably tension headaches. Try some advil/tylenol for relief. Take a hot shower and use the hot water to try and relax the muscles in your back/neck. Also if you can find one of these, or something similar, apply it to the back of your neck.
I get a lot of headaches, though I always thought it was from a family history of migraines. Spirolactone can act as a water pill(which is why I was told to not take Midol on it) so you need to compensate for the water lost and increase water intake.
I use Excedrin, Migrasil's Migraine Stick, and one of those nice headache hat/icepacks when it gets bad.
I did want to mention on this thread that sometimes this roll on has helped ease some of the pain. Def not a cure all but helpful.

Peppermint, spearmint, lavender. It also helps me sleep too if it’s taking me forever. I’m not a woo-wooey essential oil healer or anything but they do work to help migraines, if not just to distract you from the discomfort and help your stomach if you have accompanying nausea. I just roll it on my temples or neck.
Here is the link! I I bought it off amazon.
Thanks for the recommends :)
I usually avoid things like gummies because I’ve eliminated not just soda but most sugars as well (long before covid), but the pre-measured doses are definitely a selling point, so I’ll check those out.
It’s funny you mention Lavender. Lavender & Vanilla is one of my favorite scents. I was disappointed when they stopped selling my favorite dryer sheets with that scent.
I also completely forgot I have two aromatherapy / migraine sticks, one with Peppermint, Spearmint, and Lavender essential oils, and the other with Peppermint only. The one with Lavender and Spearmint is nice and soothing while the Peppermint-only one can be a little intense, so I try not to use that one if late in the day. I should be using them more often, so thanks for reminding me of them ;)
Where do you use the cold compresses? Face, neck, shoulders I’d guess..
I bet massages would help with circulation and reduce inflammation as well.
Feel free to message me any time, you’re fun to talk to. :)
It’s specifically for migraines. Idk what they put in it but it’s magic. I’ll link it on Amazon

You could also use this roll on stick with peppermint in it.
Also, there are ice pack helmets on amazon that are easier than a standard ice pack. It looks like they're on sale right now so you might want to grab a few so you can always have a cold one!
This is what I use. Got it about a year ago and it’s still more than half full. Great stuff.
It’s one of those roller ball applicators with a mix of essential oils inside!
