We did twin bed just because it's what would fit most comfortably in her bedroom that still left space for her other furniture/playing. She didn't seem comfortable and content with it though until I got her these kind of bumpers, and then it's like a switch flipped and she was completely ok and falling asleep normally

We have traditional bunks in our camper but we use a bed bumper for our little one. It goes under the fitted sheet and keeps them from rolling out.
