If you're unable to mount it, I don't know if I have too many suggestions to offer. That's a tricky spot. My only real idea would be to buy a long and low table that could partially go underneath the bar counter. Then set the TV on it off-centered.

It's veneer over particle board, but the veneer is decent and has some depth to it.
