I got 2 sets of Monios 4 foot lights (there are 6 lights in each set, so I have 12 strips total here). Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086BWPBHL
I tried square panels for about $200 also, but it was not enough coverage for me.
At first I had more narrow shelves, about 12" wide, so I just used one light, not two like here for 18" width.
Getting some grow light bulbs and a floor 3-bulb lamp for my bigger ones. And a monitoring cam 🤓 cus why not. Should be all done upgrading to that this weekend.
We’ve noticed more growth yes. Especially for plants that need higher light. We have our setup in the basement with one tiny window so natural light hasn’t really been an option for us this past winter. We’ve grown lilies and other flowers, and had them come to full bloom :) Not any kind of promotion but here’s the Amazon link I’ve used: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086BWPBHL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_F5WT60VZ2PB6VD6XCEKP?psc=1
Yep. They are 4' and they are el cheapo to me leds. I actually have two of these shelf systems. The first set of lights that I bought worked well, but I didn't get the reds of some greens. Yeah read that sentence again and try to make sense of it. However, a year later when I set up the second set of shelves, I went to order the same lights on Ammy and got a different color temperature (I am not a lighting expert) and started getting some reds into the green leaves. Let me get a link to what I bought last. YIKES! These things really spiked in price. I think I got them for around $60 18 months ago. I bought two sets. Have two lights per shelf which seems to be enough.
Here's the link. Disclaimer: I get absolutely NOTHING from you clicking this link and buying the lights.

This is my third year gardening and after two failures with starting seedlings (first year: started seeds too late with no grow lights only window sunlight, second year: used the cheapest gooseneck grow lights with outdoor soil, fungus gnats ruined most of them,) I decided to invest a little more time and effort instead of having to run to the nursery for starts.
I still use budget lights but they’re a huge step up from the tiny lights I used last year (my seedlings were way too leggy.) I used a Mylar blanket to further reflect the light onto the seedlings. I’ll eventually break out my mini fan once they germinate. I made my own seed starting mix with some leftover coco coir and vermiculite, but supplemented with some jiffy mix as well. Planning on fertilizing with some leftover worm castings and alfalfa meal (probably going to make some tea out of them.)

You can daisy-chain all 6 of them on one plug, but I chose to do them by twos, so I could have more control of light on each shelf. They're all on a timer.
For more info, these are the lights I'm using: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086BWPBHL/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_kUhdFb2Y9XXX6
and I leave them on for 14 hours and have them 6 inches from the tops of the succulent and water once a week.
I got these succulents from Mountain Crest Gardens with bigger leaves. There's a lot of new growth under these lights but they've stayed very tight and small. I'm wondering if it's popping out so many new leaves it doesn't have time to focus on growing them? Or is it not enough light?
Amazon (sigh)

Plants seem to like them! On a timer, on 14 hrs a day.

I took a chance on these on amazon after reading reviews and doing some research on DLI, PPFD as it related to wattage and spectrum, and what plants at different stages need as far as light goes, and have been happy with them. Seedlings and plants do very well under them.

After doing some more research, I also bought this from amazon for my tomatoes, and it's been great for them so far.
So yeah it's a bit of work to find something you're happy with and that works for what you're doing, and I have a total love/hate/hate relationship with amazon, but it's worked out well. See my other posts on r/indoorgarden and r/indoorgardening for some of my results - I only started in November and pretty much a noob with grow lights - these subs have been hugely helpful
https://smile.amazon.com/Monios-L-Reflectors-Spectrum-Sunlight-Replacement/dp/B086BWPBHL Mine are the 2' version, but it looks like they're currently unavailable. They have little rings on them and I wired them the shelves.
Got them on amazon (sigh) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086BWPBHL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's a mix of potting soil, coconut coir, my compost and a bit of sand and vermiculite. The lights I got on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B086BWPBHL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They barely get warm and plants seem to like them so far.
I posted this earlier to get some advice about the total setup: https://www.reddit.com/r/indoorgardening/comments/jaysea/getting_ready_to_plant_trying_lettuce_spinach/
