I have a 2 shedding animals and haven't found this to be too much of an issue, as long as you keep it a bit off the carpet (I use these) and your case has decent filters, and you clean them occasionally of course.
That is a monoprice glass monitor stand from amazon
Monoprice Multimedia Desktop Stand 22" x 9.5" - Monitor Riser, Laptop Stand, Desktop TV Stand, PC Riser w/Height Adjustable Legs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AJHCQD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FrJeBb3S6T6GA
It's tempered glass and rated for well over the weight of the tower.
Just make sure the pc isnt trying to suck in air through the carpet with the psu otherwise have something hard on the floor to place it on. I have a glass monitor stand from Amazon that I use for this.

Yeah, it works great, just isn’t quite big enough for the stock LG C1 stand. It’s rated for 66 pounds though, so it can more than handle the weight.
Honestly I was waiting for the LG and ASUS monitors specifically for the anti glare, but figured I would at least give the C1 a shot first to see if the reflections would be too much. It works for me, but if the CX doesn’t work in your room, then an AG coating is kind of non negotiable.

I have a multimedia stand that I have my computer on. I also use a few hockey pucks to lift the computer up 2 inches / 5 cm from the glass stand, so there is easy airflow from the bottom.
https://smile.amazon.com/Monoprice-Multimedia-Desktop-Stand-9-5/dp/B00AJHCQD8
It’s a process, started with a tiny desk, upgraded little things over and over, it’s best hobby ever. What I did when I had small desk is out pc on floor free up a lot of room.
I bought one of these to keep the PC off of the carpet : https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Multimedia-Desktop-Stand-9-5/dp/B00AJHCQD8/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1BN3UIFK9OGUN&keywords=monoprice+multimedia+desktop+stand&qid=1645981421&sprefix=monoprice+mult%2Caps%2C85&sr=8-3
Hardware wise, there isn't much to do.
Keep the fans, filters, PSU and inside clean. It doesn't have to be spotless, but don't let it build up to the point it hinders airflow. Also clean dust out of heat sinks and radiators.
If you have an AIO, it'll need replaced after 5ish years most likely. Or at-least have the liquid topped off if you have the ability to refill it (not all do, but some do).
Also, don't sit your PC on carpet if it has any bottom in-taking fans (which most do with bottom mounted power supplies these days). If you have to sit it in the floor buy a stand or something for it to sit on that isn't carpet. I use one of these for PC towers in the floor and it works great.
I bought this, but its not hard of an idea to DIY something similar. I also have it lifted off the glass by 2 hockey pucks under each corner. It Improves airflow underneath as well as less dust.

Got one for my AW R10 and it works great. Also strong glass. It'll help keep any dust from getting in the PC. Might also help a little with airflow.
Monoprice Multimedia Desktop Stand 22" x 9.5" - Monitor Riser, Laptop Stand, Desktop TV Stand, PC Riser w/ Height Adjustable Legs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AJHCQD8/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_T3TMWV0VC5XVTS5B750W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I got this for my tower. They come in different sizes.
If you are going to have your PC on the floor, make sure to either buy a desktop stand or simply have a piece of wood under it to make sure it doesn't intake all the dirt and other things on your floor, especially if you have carpet. Here's a stand that is pretty cheap and looks good. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AJHCQD8/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I purchased a Pc Stand for my PC and it works great. The one I linked is the same one I have and my case is big. You can also see the pictures uploaded by reviewers to get a good idea of the size.
Hey friend, to get my tower off my carpet floors I ordered this off of amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Multimedia-Desktop-Stand-9-5/dp/B00AJHCQD8
it lifts the case a few inches off the floor so it doesn’t suck any dust in or stuff like that. I have a micro atx tower and it fits with plenty of room. I also don’t every really notice the stand since it’s glass. pretty affordable too.
As for your monitor setup I would personally go with option 2 if you can walk mount the 32 inch. sounds like it’s be pretty sweet.
hope i could help :)
Yes please post. I love seeing other people’s builds for inspiration.
As for what’s keeping my PC off the ground, I am using this Multimedia stand from amazon
Fits the PC really well and looks nice with it’s tempered glass construct
Pretty much anything that'll keep it from being directly on the floor will be fine. If you don't have carpet you don't necessarily have to have it on anything. For a stand you just need something that can take the weight and looks nice and is big enough (looks like roughly 17"x9" for the H510)
I found a bunch of stuff searching amazon for 'pc stand', this monoprice one looks pretty nice if you're into glass & chrome
Monoprice Multimedia Desktop Stand 22" x 9.5" - Monitor Riser, Laptop Stand, Desktop TV Stand, PC Riser w/ Height Adjustable Legs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AJHCQD8/
It was a PITA though because it bumps into the PSU cabling unfortunately. It's definitely not the best throughput for airflow down there, but more cool air is always better IMO. I had to buy this -- https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Multimedia-Desktop-Stand-9-5/dp/B00AJHCQD8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1545141662&sr=8-4&keywords=monoprice+glass+stand -- to keep a solid base below the case for airflow though. I have soft carpet so it was basically blocking all air intake through the bottom.
Pick up one of these to get it off the carpet! PC Riser from monoprice. Otherwise great build. Glad you didnt get like a 1000+watt PSU like some people think they need with 1080 -_-;;;
Also for future small upgrades that are life changing would be sleeved PSU cables for the evga PSU. So much easier to manage for the cables.
Hi all I am hoping someone could help me.
I have my computer currently sitting underneath my desk and as my floor is carpeted I have my PC sitting on a piece of cardboard until I find something better to sit my PC on.
I'm thinking of buying a Melamine particle/MDF board from my local hardware store - as anything I find on eBay or Amazon is either not the right dimensions or too expensive. I have seen something like this but I don't know if it's suitable or could possibly break.
Would the particle/MDF board be okay? Or if you have any other suggestions that are easy on the bank and safe for the PC I would greatly appreciate it.
ps. I cannot place my PC on top of my desk as I have limited space and my cat likes to be in high places, and I don't want her sitting on top of it if I can help it.
Use a monitor stand like this and you're good
Adding an L-shaped extension to a glass desk seems tough. If the mouse is on slide-out keyboard tray, maybe it could be moved over to the desktop? I would replace the little shelf over the desktop with something larger to make room for the mouse with something like this.
I dont' have a Karlby/Alex desk (I have a Gallant) but I do have 3 monitors (2x29in ultrawide + 1x23 inch HD vertical).
Karlby desktops are pretty sturdy, and if you're worried about bowing, another Ikea leg should do the trick like previous replies have mentioned.
As a side point, having 3 screens, 2 full towers and a laptop + keyboard/mouse seems like it'll take up all of the desk.
You can also easily take computers off the floor but keep them off the desktop with stands.
I actually found out about it from the US Amazon I'm sure. Let me have a quick look.
Edit: Here its a smaller one but it's the one I actually wanted but you can't get in the UK.
Should be fine. I got a nice glass stand with legs off amazon for just this purpose, worked great and it was nice having a space under the PC for cable routing. It's a bit more expensive than a piece of wood, but it works very well.
You can get This monitor stand and put it on the floor to the right of your desk. That way you can have your tower on the floor but raised off of the carpet. This is what i'm using and it looks very nice as well.
Not sure if you've considered this, but you can get a little stand for your case that's fairly cheap to keep it off the floor. Here's a good one on Amazon that can hold up to 60 lbs.
Monoprice Multi Media Desktop Stand 22" x 9.5" (109434) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AJHCQD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_686nzbMWPM8J1
I have this one.
I use to to keep my PC off the carpeted floor though. I don't know if glass goes with the look you're after, but it's pretty strong.
This.
I'm using the plywood (well, particle board) method others mention. But if you want something nicer looking, Monoprice's monitor stand is an option.
See the customer review pics for a few examples of it used for this purpose.
EDIT - I see /u/James_XIII already linked to it.
I love this thing and use it for my tower. Maybe a bit pricey for its purpose, but at least get a piece of cardboard, plywood, or something so that your PSU isn't choking on carpet fiber.
Hey if you want a little stand that will allow you to move your desktop to the floor, allowing for more desk space, here is what i use. It's meant for monitors but works perfectly for a tower.
I just commented on someone else's post about this as well, but if you want a little stand that will allow you to move your desktop to the floor, allowing for more desk space, here is what i use. It's meant for monitors but works perfectly for a tower.
It's a little smaller than your dimension, but depending on the actual feet placement, something like this is what i was looking at for myself a while back. It's actually a monitor stand but if you find one big enough it should work well.
Monoprice 109434 22-Inch by 9.5-Inch Multi Media Desktop Stand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AJHCQD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_W0j1xbPTEMDVJ
I would like to randomly plug this thing.
I have carpeted floor in my room so I didn't want my tower directly on the floor. This thing works perfectly in terms of dimension for a full sized tower. It also matches my silver and glass desk!
It came with the desk in the first photos actually. I'm not sure if you can buy them on there own. But honestly it wouldn't be too hard to make one. Or, depending on how big your case is, a monitor stand like his one could work.
Bought this to keep my tower off the floor. Also run an air purifier to keep the dust down in the first place since we have no forced air system, only baseboard. So there's very little ventilation.
I'm a little late here (just looking through posts finding some useful stuff) but I recently bought this and it's awesome. It raises it off the ground 2.5" and has adjustable legs. Very sturdy.
Particle board*, and not very well at all, especially with two thermaltake 140 fans as intake at the bottom... I am keeping positive pressure in the case, I have more intake than exhaust.
It was originally supposed to be temporary, but you know how that goes.
Edit: I've been mugging this as a possible replacement for my glorious particle board.
Of course! It's *supposed* to be a monitor stand:

You can get a monitor stand to lift your PC off the floor/carpet. I have wood floors but I still wish I got one a lot sooner. Got mine off of Amazon
Something like this would probably look really good.

https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Multimedia-Desktop-Stand-9-5/dp/B00AJHCQD8/
I set this on the floor beneath the right side of my desk to put my PC on and it worked amazingly.
Here's what I use. Double check the dimensions, but works amazing and looks really clean.

I got me one of these, really nice to get it off the floor in general, and the legs extend a bit
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AJHCQD8?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2\_dt\_b\_product\_details
For people worried about putting their case directly on the floor, I bought one of these stands, and my Fractal Define R4 fits on it perfectly.
I use this with a corsair airflow 4000 case the width is perfet but the shelf is about 4 inches longer than the case. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AJHCQD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_MGDQ0YBRQW5MVSFGXBBV?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

It's actually This monitor stand from amazon
Looks really nice! I dig your hardware choices.
I might suggest one of these guys to get your machine off your desk while keeping it away from carpet. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AJHCQD8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's not a vertical rack, but Monoprice has a couple cheap multimedia desktop stands that you could use as an equipment stand on top of your desk.
Just check if a store near you has something like this, to give the bottom filter some breathing room https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AJHCQD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_.2X0yb95W7SDQ
I would highly recommend this stand I use the bigger size with my nzxt switch 810 https://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Multi-Media-Desktop-109434/dp/B00AJHCQD8
It looks like This
https://www.amazon.ca/Monoprice-109434-22-Inch-9-5-Inch-Desktop/dp/B00AJHCQD8/ref=sr_1_1 CDN$ 53.19 - slight change from the $14.35 price in America.
I had a smaller desk, but it annoyed me to no end because I never had enough space, so I finally broke down and got this one. I came across it while at Ikea and it was just what I was looking for. It is a little wider than my old one, which helps a lot with the dual monitors, but the best part is it is deep! I have so much room for activities now! I'm not at home so I can't measure it, and for some reason can't find it on Ikea's website.
The glass stands are from Monoprice. You can also find them on Amazon, but it was cheaper to order them directly from Monoprice's website, even with shipping. I really like them! I don't know why monitor stands are so damn expensive, but these were a very good price and they look more classy to me to than the plastic ones.
