Karen McSherry's recipe in <em>More Than Salt and Pepper</em> are perfection.
PERFECT MARGARITAS (makes 6 margaritas)
BLENDED
Mix Limeaid, water, tequila, and Triple Sec together. Rub rim of cut glasses cut of lemon (yes, not lime) and dip into salt. Pour some of the mixture into blender with 1 cup ice cubes (240 mL). Process until smooth and frosty. Pour into prepared glasses and garnish with with a slice of lemon or lime.
ON THE ROCKS (much prefer them on the rocks)

The proportions need to be close, so I prefer to weigh the ingredients like she does. If you have a scale that does mL, then...

Note the ratio of 12:6:3:1 (water:Limeaid:tequila:Triple Sec), which is useful if you want to play around with it some.
