I think it's also worth mentioning that the Motorola Nexus 6 went on sale on Amazon this week for $350/$400 for the 32/64GB models respectively, likely in anticipation of the new Nexus launch.
The Moto E is a fantastic choice. I'd recommend a Nexus 6 though.
Band 12, Wifi Calling, Direct Updates, Dirt Cheap ($299). https://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Unlocked-Cellphone-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B00R1984DS/ref=sr_1_4?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1466609256&sr=1-4&keywords=Nexus+6

CDMA qualifications for verizon. This is unlocked at amazon It states it will not work with Verizon. How should I know if the one bought from google or fi project will?

oh, the unlocked motorola one. there is no verizon one in white
Nexus 6 is an OK device.
I give it 7 out of 10.
If you have big hands and size is not an issue to you, then the camera would be it's second biggest drawback. While it takes decent pictures, time it takes to focus even in well lit conditions is just too slow.
Some earlier models came with defect that made phone restart randomly, I happen to had one of those. Was quite disappointed in Motorola due to that.
Another design flaw is that Nexus 6 has curved back, that makes it incompatible with some wireless chargers.
I wish it had the fingerprint sensor like originally intended, would have made it more future-proof. As it is right now, this phone will be antiquated with the official release of Android M (6.0).
Still, at $349 unlocked, is a good deal.
