Your case has multiple editions, they use the same mould. That piece pops out. This may fit it:
Oh yeah sorry I forgot you're working on a build with Xproto. I check the front io port from Xproto and it probably won't work with the USB 2 to 3 adapters I mentioned. The front panel provides two USB 3.0 ports and cannot be powered properly with USB 2 to 3 adapter. For type-c, you need to find an adapter to turn USB 3.0 port on the linkup to type-c port, then figure out a way to fix it to wherever you want.... Something like this listed below. Now, we are talking quite a few adapters to make type-c happen....

And is this this for example compatible? as it says gen 2 cable and my mobo is a gen 1?
Unless...
That way could you leave the front panel unmolested, desolder a Firewire port and hot glue that in place. I reckon it would look pretty OEM.
It's a USB-c 3.1 "type E" motherboard header.
Here is an example, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083FRW542/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_MhkWFbWQM4Z46
The case has one built in. That weird looking connector (right side) is what goes into the motherboard.
It's too short. So I need an adapter/extension that has "both" type E connections on it, but I don't think it exists.
Nice! Built many of these back in the day.
Now you just need to repurpose that firewire port on the front as USB-C.
Need a panel mount USB-C to put in place of the firewire port, and a header adapter to connect to your board. It would only run as a 3.0 port and no special features since your board doesn't have the USB-C header, but you'd have a 5Gbps USB-C port on the front at least.
The floor in my room is carpeted and my old tower stand isn't doing a great job supporting my new build. I was thinking of grabbing a cheap plastic shelf from Wal-Mart. Any other suggestions for good inexpensive solutions that don't require me attaching something to a wall?
So my mobo and case (Lian Li Mesh II RGB and Gigabyte Aorus Elite x570) both support USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 but neither came with a cable for the header. Lian Li has one here. It looks to be sold out everywhere though. I found a few that look similar like this but have no idea if they would work/fit or not. Any suggestions?
